Great little coffee shop across the street from the beach. Has a unique style for a coffee shop. I decided to stop by for a quick pick me up. I was surprised to see a pour over on the menu so I took my opportunity to experience an Ethiopian pour over on a V60 and a blueberry scone perfect pair.. and added bonus they had clotted cream and jam. This place was 5 mins down the road from my hotel, and being someone who loves trying local coffee shops, this was one of them. I've seen a few around the area so I had thought it was just that good. I got an iced honey badger latte with almond milk and a corker pie with one of their sauces. Total came out to be $16. The corker, an Aussie breakfast pie with eggs, cheese, and sausage, was filling! It's flaky, salty, flavorful, and plenty to be enough for breakfast. The cashier who took care of me was super sweet and recommended me some things. They have indoor and outdoor seating AND they have an outdoor ordering window if you only want drinks. They also sell their merch like coffee beans and shirts. MUST MUST TRY!! read more

Wonderful stop for breakfast and coffee, but I would stop here any time of day. Their brekkie pie was delicious and I'd love to try more. Oh I also got a slice of vegan banana bread and it was amazing. Their iced coffee was also very good. It is a cute spot with seating inside and outside. It has a relaxed atmosphere and I would definitely enjoy working there as I drink my coffee. The staff were also friendly, helpful, and informative. We love Kooksburra! This location is close to our beachside Airbnb and we love it. Perfect for picking up a coffee and a treat after a beach walk. Very modern but homey, they have a great selection of speciality Aussie pies, delicious and balanced coffee and espresso drinks and they even have homemade syrups which are PERFECT! I love a little bit of holiday cheer with a peppermint syrup but I don't want the fake sugary taste of a Starbucks specialty coffee- this places goes the show there is nothing like a small business with real taste. The service is great, and they can easily accommodate any sort of milk choices, syrups levels, etc. It's always a frequent stop when we are traveling to St Augustine. read more

It's like a small chicken pot pie but with sausage egg and cheese: we loved it! They gave us a sauce that was like a spicy ketchup. The filling was savory and the pie was crispy and buttery! Absolutely wonderful. This place will be a must if we ever come back to town. My hubby had the Aussie iced coffee which was fabulous. I had the green goddess iced which was so delicious -- my hubby even said "did you finish that? You never finish your drinks!" Why yes, yes I did inhale that delicious drink. We also had the True Blue Aussie pie. Was large enough for us to share, as we didn't want much. It was just the right amount. Flaky, light and yummy. We LOVE us some kooks! We have one in Gainesville(Alachua) so the visits there are quite frequent! We have never experienced the one in St Augustine by the beach so it was something we trued after I walk. The area/place is quaint which I shouldn't be suprised since it's near the beach so when we got in-the line was literally out the door-we were waiting outside the door. Once we got inside, the line seemed to move quicker; there was an employee who was taking drink orders as people waited in line. I got my usual which was/is honey badger (large) with oat milk and extra sugar free vanilla syrup with an egg/cheese Aussie pie! The inside of the shop was packed so we had to sit outside. Outside was a nice setup with the umbrellas and cute to drink outside when it's cooler but on the day we went it was too hot. We finished up our eats and I drank the remaining of my drink as we drove back to our Airbnb to get ready for the beach. Overall, I can see why it's packed/busy but I will probably enjoy my kooks in Gainesville-but it was definitely nice trying it out! read more

It's always tough to say that with other local spots in town because the Kookaburra has more than one location (don't think it qualifies as a chain though) which feels like an advantage, but it's just the reality. High quality coffee with great service - they actually walk the drinks to you as opposed to screaming for you from the counter. It just gives it a nice touch. Plenty of seating but does get very busy during peak hours. Expect a slight to moderate wait any time between 8-10 AM. read more

I can pretty much say I literally ordered all their coffee's on my 5 day visit/work to St Augustine. Definitely my favorite and I am glad I purchased their Bear Espresso! Soooo good! Despite it being small there is always a place to sit. We enjoyed reading outside as we sipped. I'm not a fan of their decaf options- just too watery. They don't even have a decaf drip coffee. I've been to Australia, and fell in love with their meat pies, and it just didn't hit - it was a LOT of dough and not enough filling. The wait was very long, and it just wasn't worth it IMO. Grabbed breakfast at The Kookaburra each morning during our stay at St. Augustine Beach. This espresso bar/pie shop has great coffee and Aussie breakfast pies! They make some great scones and muffins too. Since this location was less than a five minute walk from our hotel on Anastasia Island I decided that this would be our go-to breakfast spot. We tried several of the Aussie breakfast pies. My favorite was the "Corker" with sausage, egg, cheddar and pepper jack cheese. If you are watching your carbs they make crustless pies, but we enjoyed the pie crust too much to worry about the extra calories. Pay the extra 65 cents for the A-frame sauce. No clue what was in this spicy chili sauce, but it gave the pie a nice sweet and spicy kick! The muffins and scones are really good too! My oldest son went nuts over the lemon blueberry muffin and the chocolate chip muffin. I didn't realize that devon cream was available for the scones and hate myself for overlooking that on the menu. The scones were still delicious without the devon cream, but who doesn't love cream and jam on their scones?! Will not make this mistake next time we visit! Our hotel WI-FI was dreadfully slow so this was a great option if you needed to get some work done. Would definitely recommend The Kookaburra for breakfast if you are visiting St. Augustine ! read more

We visited St Augustine beach for a 4 day vacation and discovered the Kookaburra on day 3. I wish we would've stopped in day 1 because we missed out on 2 days! We ended up going back again before we left because everything was amazing. My wife got the mocha but both times and loved every drop. My kids tried the frozen hot chocolate which was gone before i noticed. And we also got a traditional meat pie. That meat pie, let me tell you, did not disappoint. That pie crust was buttery, flaky and cooked perfectly. The filling was warm, flavorful and every bite was better than the last. I would buy those by the dozen if they sold them that way and have them shipped to my house. So good! Needless to say, if we got back to st Augustine, the kookaburra will be on our daily route. read more

My parents have lived in St Augustine (beach) for years and I went to Kookaburra for the first time today. ALL THOSE YEARS WASTED NOT KNOWING HOW GREAT THIS PLACE IS JUST DOWN THE STREET. This is such a perfect neighborhood spot. More parking than most other options around here and fantastic drinks (I got an iced decaf Honey Badger). I grabbed one of the breakfast pies and the homemade datil sauce is addictive. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Can't wait to come back here tomorrow and enjoy it again!
