Ever have nails look worse after a service than before you walked in? Yep. Happened here. I came in because I had a clear gel manicure with french tips that were growing out, so I came here to get them removed and give my nails a rest. The place was dark so I'm not surprised that the technician did so poorly. Patches of gel were left and my nails now have deep grooves from the coarse filing that was done. Even the clear polish put on top was not applied well and is now lifting away at the edges less than 2 days after. So glad I didn't spend more than $22, and the damage was not worse. I've gone to this place for multiple occasions, never once was I disappointed. A few different people from this nail place have done my nails and I was never disappointed with them either. Some take longer than others, but the finished result has always been stunning. I would just get regular polish on acrylic nails and they would last me weeks without chipping or peeling, it was never a problem for me. I came here yesterday to get my nails done before my graduation from UCLA (yaaaay, no more looming deadlines for a while!!!) on Saturday. The salon is really well decorated, and very clean. I was immediately greeted by the receptionist, who was very sweet, and spoke English fluently (which I frankly, don't really care about,, except for when I am trying to communicate what services I would like done), so I liked that. On to the nails! I really recommend Lily for any type of acrylics. She is really sweet, and does a great job! I got the pink and white sculpted, because I don't like when the white part is really wide, and she did so great! She asked me about everything- how short I wanted them, the style, etc. As for my toes, the girl who did them was really sweet (didn't catch her name), but my french pedicure was mediocre. It looks nice- no complaints- but I have had better. Both my fingernails and toenails came out to a whopping $65.00, but in this case, you really do get what you pay for, and I got an excellent job. Walked in today for the first time and although they were very busy they took me right away. At first glance the place seems small and could use a little makeover. Got my nails and toes done here. Girl who did my toes did a great job. However Lisa was really rushing through applying my dip powder. It was around 6pm and it started to make sense as I saw more and more appts walking in. Based off of the pictures you can see that my nails have powder residue left all over them. Once that stuff gets on the skin it becomes tacky, feels very uncomfortable, and does not look good. I asked her to remove it with some type of acetone and she tried cutting it off with a cutical cutter (which did get the large pieces) However it did not remove the rest. Very dissatisfied and I will not return. It literally look like a six year old did my nails with how much is left on my skin. :( read more

I dont have a certain girl i go to because, i have yet to have a bad experience with any of them. If you go to Obsession, ask for Kim! She was so sweet, constantly smiling, and always asked if I was okay. I got a new set and she did a wonderful job making it really flat and perfectly shaped. Highly do NOT recommend this place. Let me start by saying their pedicures are terrible, the water is cold and the massage chairs barely work. They do everything in a rush because they are always over booked. My last straw was my last manicure. I went in on a Thursday to get a gel manicure(cost me $45)and by Friday the paint was chipping.(keep in mind this is the second time this happens)I go in to get it fixed and they charge me $20 for their mistake. As soon as I walked in for my appointment I was greeted with a smile from the lovely front desk lady. She was so courteous and happily willing to answer all my questions. After choosing my pedicure color I was seated within 1-2 minutes after arriving. It's difficult to find a nail salon that does a truly good job providing friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere, while making sure to create beautiful acrylics and wonderful pedicures, until I came here. I came with my sister-in-law a couple days ago and wow! I am so incredibly happy with my pink and white acrylics. They are even all around and I can't find a single flaw. They are secure and i don't see any future major lifting occurring. My spa pedicure was lovely and oh so relaxing. Both women took their time, making sure not to speed through. The polish is nice but there was no massage to speak of, no soak time, etc. Everything felt cursory. I've been here many times before and I do keep coming back, but after this experience I will either only ever come when I have an appointment or during the day when it's less busy. This had been my go to place every two weeks without fail since 2010. After Katie and Susan left, I would book appointments with Amy, Kim or Nancy. For one reason or another, things didn't work out with Amy. I would alternate between Kim and Nancy depending on availability. After Kim cut the tip of my toe for not wearing her reading glasses, I decided not to come here anymore. She cut my toe and panicked. I was the one bleeding and in pain but she was the one getting comforted by the other nail techs. I had to instruct Kim to disinfect and clean my toe before attempting to apply nail polish. It was such a strange experience. The bleeding stopped after an hour but it started bleeding again once I stood up and applied pressure on my foot as I walked away. Kim was very apologetic but she didn't feel bad enough to comp my pedicure. She charged me full price. Unbelievable!!! She stood there expecting a tip. First time I've ever walked away from any type of service without tipping. I'm done with that place and it's dirty gel nail machines and dirty chair side trays. I really thought I would love this salon. It's nicely decorated and the pedicure chairs are awesome! I've even tried it on a few different occasions. But... the staff isn't the friendliest to non-regular customers. They hardly speak english, which normally never bothers me, but the women make me feel as if they aren't saying very nice things. They always go off after I deny some sort of up-sell (which they constantly try to push you into). I just went back yesterday to use a gift certificate from my birthday. I thought a mani/pedi would be perfect after a long day at the lake.Today, you would never guess I got my nails done. My mani looks like a child painted them. The lady said I was good to go, but my nail polish obviously wasn't dry enough. The nail polish also bubbled really badly on one of my feet and both of my hands. My pedicure didn't include everything the pamphlet said it would. I didn't get the warm towels (which I love), she hardly massaged my legs/feet. Overall, I'm not satisfied and I don't plan on going back again. I wouldn't refer it to anyone either. I don't think their prices match the quality of their work. read more
