After a double mastectomy due to breast cancer, areola/nipple tattooing was the final step in my healing journey. After my first session, one areola was noticeably smaller than the other, oval instead of round, and positioned higher than the other. I sent Debbie a picture of this, and she said we'd address it in the second session. The second session put the areola in a better position, but the shape is still "off" and the nipple is too high (not centered). Debbie said she couldn't move the nipple position. After struggling with this for 4 months since the second session, I requested a full refund, but she instead offered to have me return for more work. I then asked for at least a 50% refund, but she still said I should come back for more work. After two clearly unsuccessful sessions, I have zero confidence in Debbie's work or her ability to fix this. I'll now be seeing a different tattoo specialist in this area to correct Debbie's subpar work. What made the experience even more difficult was that during my first appointment, Debbie spent most of the two-hour session talking non-stop about her recent trips, her back issues, the history of her practice and her personal life struggles (complete with tears!). As someone dealing with the emotions of a difficult cancer journey, I found her lack of sensitivity deeply disturbing. This was a procedure that required compassion and focus, and unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. I was so emotionally exhausted after that first session that I had to sit in my car for quite a while before I felt capable of driving. Debbie wears special medical eyeglasses, so she doesn't have to bend over and strain her back while doing her work. I can't help thinking the glasses are altering her depth perception, and that's why one of my tattoos turned out so distorted. Be careful when getting sensitive work done by Debbie. The emotional stress this has caused me has been overwhelming.

However, on my last visit over 1 year ago, I paid 150 for a touch up, then I looked in the mirror immediately after and told her that I was unhappy, that it looked like a cigarette burn. She told me it was my skin. That this happens over time. I asked her to remove it to which we made an appointment. When I showed up she told me she didn't have the light she needed to see and that I should go have this cut out by a plastic surgeon. I went to go see Dr. Elstrom, who then told me this was clearly a bad tattoo. He said it would look worse to cut it out. So I called Debbie and asked her to please remove the tattoo. She said she would but would need to charge me 250. I paid and had her do her work. Then I was left with a white spot and an even clearer black ring. She said she would no longer work with me as she couldn't make me happy. That led me to a further search to which I am so grateful! 2 weeks ago I went to see Emily with Camo Beauty and I am thrilled! Go to her page to see the final results. I didn't want to post them here as I didn't want any confusion as to who deserves the credit! Debbie, I am so disappointed in the work you did, and the poor advise you gave. I get compliments on my microbladed eyebrows all the time. My eyeliners look natural. Yes, there is pain and discomfort throughout the process but Nazie is generous with the numbing medication and frequently checks your comfort level the whole time. If you're a sissy, moves, or fidgets with pain then I recommend multiple touch up sessions or be prepared for a long session. Numbing medication doesn't kick in until the skin is broken so tough it out until it starts working.

Then I went to ChatGPT and it pointed me to something that then led me to Modern Face Studio which I thought was ONLY an Alhambra location but was glad to discover she has a Mission Viejo/Lake Forest location! Then I went to look at her work thru her posts and, as expected, you'll get to see photos of newly done lips and they looked really natural and perfect color for the skin tone of each person. Next I needed to see if there were repeat customers so I went to her yelp for both locations and found people commenting they went back or couldn't trust anyone else. At this point I was sold to come develop a relationship with this studio and scheduled a lip blush straight away. I'm so glad I did. Tina is so warm and welcoming. She shares so much about the process with you which is clearly a sign of someone who has had a lot of people come thru and, to me, volume of customers = tons of experience! So the photos of her work looked good, she seemed really nice, but the icing on the cake was that as she's talking and touching things like a cabinet or a phone, she's changing out her gloves every single time. That level of awareness of how easily her hands can potentially carry germs to your face is commendable. Legit the kind of care I value and appreciate bc if she's THAT detail-oriented about germs on her gloves then she's most certainly detail-oriented about the work she's about to do - in my case, a lip blush. Super happy so far with the experience. She promised the lining part wouldn't hurt without numbing and she did not lie. She applies numbing for 20mins before she starts shading in your lips and throughout the process. I only felt it in the middle bottom lip once and she put numbing cream and I was back to not feeling a thing. I'm writing this only having had it done but so far I'm very happy with the overall experience and will post photos after it's fully healed. If you're considering her, just do it. She's clearly a professional who cares about making sure there's a sterile environment while also being kind and friendly.
