Equipment was in good condition. Staff was skilled and friendly. Good flight, didn't time it, but seemed a nice duration.

For Christmas 2017 we bought parasailing coupons for 8 of our grandkids to parasail during our vacation 2018. The coupons were big bright and colorful, The grandkids (ages 15 - 11) just used them and it was a super hit. 1 star might be unfair... but read the review and then you tell me. First - what was right... I was able to pay online. The people at the desk were very nice. The boat was there and ready on time. The crew was friendly. The boat was clean. Most importantly - we got back safely, and we had fun. What was wrong.... Just for kicks, days before our parasailing trip there was a report of 2 teens in FL breaking free from their boat while parasailing and parachuting - without any control - into high rise buildings and eventually crash landing on an SUV and they are in the hospital as I write this. As a result of those news reports I learned that only VA and NJ have any regulations or laws at all about parasailing (note: not MD). So, in all fairness, we left and I was more nervous than usual. But I decided we live by faith and I would not live in fear.... I'd done this before and all would be well. Having provided that background, back to our specific trip... and what went wrong.... We got in the boat and they did the usual "here are the life vests, here is the fire extinguisher" deal. Then we headed out to the ocean. The water was choppy and I was fearful my 9 yr old skinny girl would fly out of the boat. I admit it was probably me being over protective, but things like that happen, and they didn't have her in a life jacket, which I wished they did.... and while being thrown about I couldn't get one to put on her. Next up, they get the parachute ready and one disappears over the edge of the boat - they are mumbling and looking at each other oddly. Then they say "So if our engines go out...." Talk about losing confidence. Honestly, they should probably say that when they are talking about where the fire extinguishers are as a routine issue... but in this case it was clear they were concerned.... not that we'd die, but that they'd have to deal with not having a working engine - while we're in the ocean. I didn't think that meant we'd die so we prepared for lift off... first up was my 24 yr old son and his girlfriend of the same age. He'd been twice before - at least twice - she's never been. They suit up, take off, and fly - all is well. They come in without incident and with smiles. Then it's my turn -and I am going tandem with my 9 yr old daughter, who had also seen the same news reports about the FL incident. We suit up, we take off, we're flying. All is well.... visibility is low - can't see very far.... water is cloudy... can't see much... no real ocean life to enjoy. That is all because of storms coming up the coast in recent days, and not the fault of this operation at all... but was kind of a bummer. Then it's time for them to bring us in closer and "dip" us in the ocean... they try twice. They can't. We feel several jolts. I am told later by my son and his girl friend that the captain radioed in and told them that something broke.... when asked if they could bring us back onto the boat, he said "I think I can." Nice. Well the good news is that we did get back without incident. But you can imagine we were less than excited about the mechanical issue. Once back in the boat, we headed for land.... along the route, the captain and mate begin to apologize, and to tell us that they told their boss 2 weeks ago that part was going to fail, but he was too cheap to get a new one. Extra nice, don't you think? Despite the FACT that we had no injuries, a very nice crew, comfortable boat and a good time was had by all... well, I still have to rate it a 1 "Eek. Me thinks not." because I will not be parasailing with them again and I can not recommend them. read more

I don't agree with the previous review AT ALL! Personally, I think that the last reviewer went on a day with poor weather and that was not the fault of the company at all. I as a college student went on the boat with my two sisters and my mom and we had a wonderful time! It was out first time parasailing and we were nervous at first but the crew put us at ease. They were friendly and kept the ride entertaining with music and good conversation. The weather was also great as well and so in that sense we got lucky on our trip. Would definitely recommend to our friends, and even stop by when we are in the area again! read more

I had a great first parasailing experience with OC Parasail. We couldn't go on the ocean because it was too rough but we did the bay side and it was fantastic. I had to wait an extra 30 minutes to go out because the boat was running late, but I compensate, they gave my husband a ride along on the boat for free, which was nice. The crew were very nice and explained everything well. They even pointed out some dolphins swimming in the bay, which was an added bonus to the trip. Get the photo package- for $15 I got a CD with about 100 cool pictures on it. Definitely worth it. I'd fly with them again in a heartbeat. read more

Growing up in Va. beach I never went parasailing! On vacation and wanted to take my kids. I looked at several locations and chose OC parasailing. One of the main reason was I could apply the discount coupon to every rider in the group not just the whole group. It saved me 50 dollars. We chose the 54th street location. It was close and on the bay side of OC. Check-in was easy and we also chose the photo package too. The boat was ready around 10:40 after they changed the parachute to handle three people. Safety briefing on the way out and started to get the equipment ready. The weather was great and the sunshine was in full affect. The ride was great, we chose the 800 ft package. We were way up and could see all the way to Assateaque island. OC looks very small from up there. Good time and good crew. Richie took some great pictures too. I will go again. read more

We absolutely loved it! We were surprised with how smooth and calm it was being hoisted 800 feet into the air. That is definitely the height to choose. W oke up early and wanted something interesting to do. Kids had been talking about parasailing. We got on the internet and booked through the OC Parasail website. Could not have been any easier. We arrived at the 54thc street location around half an hour early. That is the requested timeframe for arrival. the tow boat, however, came in much later than expected. They had an issue with their equipment that was NOT safety related. I think that after bringing in the last rider one of the lines got tangled. No big deal and I am sure it is to be expected in this line of work. Before they took my kids out, they double-checked all their gear. they let my wife ride as a spectator and waived the spectator fee since they were leaving late. Even though I am a fan of the Penguins and they are not, they treated my family very well and everyone had a great time. The receptionist was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the area very patiently. Good people and I would recommend them to anyone interested in experiencing parasailing. read more

What a lousy way to start the week in Ocean City! Followed the directions to the locations and was treated by a lady who could've cared less that we were there. She was to busy answering her cell. Don't make your personal stuff impact the customers experience. We booked the ocean and she never said a word about where this experience was going. It went in the bay and we were up for 15 minutes tops. There is no difference between 600 and 800 feet as stated in the website. What a total ripoff. When the crew was questioned it was blamed on the lady and they said you needed to go to the beach site. No mention of that in the website but I think it's talbot Ave south of this crappy place at 5301 coastal highway. And, they don't allow a single extra spectator. I get that for max bookings but the boat had room and I would've paid a transport fee. The price for the crew to takes photos is 32.00 so be ready. All in all fun but a rip off to first timers. Won't go back again unless it's for a partial refund. read more

Where do I begin? Well the phone was answered quickly and professionally. I didn't ask her what her name was, it slipped my mind. We scheduled to go out the next morning, at 9am. This was the first time for me parasailing as well as my daughter. Got to the deck the next morning at 845am, signed in and paid and on our way we went with two other couples. Our guides and trusted friends were Nick and Cameron. They could not have been nicer. Very interactive and engaging. They explained everything we needed to know effectively and efficiently. Eased our minds and I felt great knowing I chose the best and safest parasail company in OC. We did purchase the photo package, I was a bit hesitant but it was worth every penny! I was handed a disk when we got off the boat. Still a bit nervous because I just paid for something and I have no clue of the quality. Let me tell you, they documented every little thing for my daughter and I. The pictures are wonderful! I could not be happier with the entire experience from the phone call to the adventure. My 6 year son, myself, my uncle, and my 12 year old cousin went parasailing with OC parasail guys Smitty and Andrew. We had an amazing experience. My son is 6 and not afraid of anything, but after seeing the other flyers go up, he was wide-eyed. Andrew harnessed him in tight, smiling the whole time, making him feel at ease. The minute our feet left the boat, he asked if we could go again tomorrow. He was laughing and smiling the whole time, and he loved when they dipped our feet in the water. It was an overcast day with a little wind, but the captain made us feel super safe despite that. We got the CD of pictures and cannot wait to share them with the rest of the family. As soon as we got back, my 6 year old made me put the disc in the laptop so he could see them. I can't say enough about these guys. We will be "flying" again next summer. Here's a funny tip though. Make sure you tell your actual weight, because they use different chutes and riggings depending on how light or heavy you are. They are not asking your weight to embarrass you - it is to make sure you are SAFE! read more

They cancelled our trip at the last minute and have no backup plan to ensure you still get a chance to go. There was also no other options available so if you plan an activity for the day and they cancel find new plans. No options for jet skis or offers for other water activities. It was my first time parasailing and I did it to get over my fear of heights. The crew was awesome, the people I rode with were very cool, and I was not scared at all. They took really professional photos and even though I paid for the 400 ft, the person I flew with had bought 800 ft so they gave me the benefit of the doubt which was awesome! It was so much fun and I'd definitely do it again. The only thing is I should have maybe assumed it would be two by two going up, but I didn't know this until I got on the boat, and I wish I had known how many people were coming with me beforehand because they told me last minute there wasn't room for my dad to come, but I went with strangers and it was still a great time overall! read more

Was disappointed with the time actually in the air and felt that the advertising and website were unclear. Wanted to be out on the ocean but ended up in the bay. Spectators are only allowed 'if they have room'. Loved the idea of parasailing but still wanting a better experience. Advise would be to call and actually talk to a person so you get the whole story beforehand and are able to better gage your options. read more

Situated next to Mackey's is a little shack stand called OC Parasail. Most definitely would not have found this place as a walk-in but no worries.. There are $25, $20 and $10 off coupons to be found in the killer coupons books with address and phone info to get you over there. At the shack where you go pay is the cutest, calmest, adorable chihuahua named Roo (sp?) The 2 girls working the shack did their job, but looked bored. As previously instructed, we arrived 30mins before appointed time. The boat that was to take us out pulled in well within 30 mins. I forget their names but the captain and crew was very professional and friendly. They welcomed us aboard and had us seated and hooked up in no time and made us feel very comfortable. I rode tandem with my 16yo. And away we went up, up up 800 ft. Wow! Breathtaking! Peaceful. It was a lot of fun. For an additional $15pp, our whole experience professionally preserved on a cd-r. Definitely put this on your to-do list when visiting OCMD. read more

Just got back from this place and I would recommend it to anyone based on my experience today. My wife and I purchased the 800ft package with the $30 extra for photos on a digital disk. The crew was very chill and just told us how mellow the entire experience is to calm down a nervous teenager with his aunt and cousins. My wife got a tad nauseous on the choppy surf, but that's not the crews fault the water was rough today but I digress the main point of this review is to tell people who haven't tried parasailing to go to this place on a good weather day. The crew was fun and kept us safe. I am definitely going back to these guys next Summer when I come back down to the ocean. Just a really chill experience. Great price and well organized. However I had planned on going up at the same time with two other adults, our combined weight was 420 so we ended up going in pairs. This was fine however that meant the rides were only about 10min per ride. If they had mentioned this on the phone or $15 spectator fee it would have been a 5 star no doubt!! read more

We used them last year and had an amazing experience. I put 4 stars this time because our "captains" were knowledgeable and nice but were not very interactive. Dana on the other hand which was the receptionist was extremely nice, patient, and polite. The experience was great, last year we went on the bay and this year we wanted to try the ocean side. We were the last couple to go and by that time we were far into the ocean that we didn't see the coastline which I was disappointed about. Other then that everyone should experience it. read more

First time parasailing for my wife and I. We sailed out of the Mackys location with Captain Nick and mate Richie. Both very professional and Richie kept things fun and light, which helped alleviate some of the nervousness for my wife. The flight was very smooth and an awesome experience floating above the water with a great view of the bay and surrounding areas. I was impressed with getting the pictures handed to us on a disc before we even got back to the dock. I would parasail again in a heartbeat, and would absolutely use OC Parasail to do it. I've been here twice and each time has been great! They are so nice and do what they can for you. Saturday my boyfriend, son and I wanted to parasail, but because it was a little windy we weren't sure how it would be. They were very nice and told us that we are more then welcome to sign up and go out on the boat to see how it was, if we decided not to, or if the captain didn't think it was safe, we would get a full refund. We went out with Travis and Kyle and they were so nice to everyone, made everybody feel comfortable, took funny pictures and made everyone feel safe. The last couple to parasail wasn't able to be "dipped" because it got a little too windy, however, when they brought them back on the boat and the wind died down, they asked if they would like to try to be dipped again. They were GREAT! Everyone was able to get the full experience thanks to them. I will always go to O.C. Parasail and I always tell my friends to go as well. We had an excellent time out on the water. The boat crew, Kevin and Andrew, was friendly and professional on our parasailing trip. They were safety conscious and knowledgeable about the parasailing routes. I would give 5 stars to the crew performance, however I am rating the company lower for two reasons. We decided to get pictures at an additional $30 fee, however the description of the quality and number of pictures was misleading compared to what we received. We were told a professional photographer would take 100 to 150 pictures, which would be saved on a CD. When we reviewed the photos, there were only 47 of which are least a third are blurry and out of focus. My second complaint is the waiver the participants are required to sign includes a waiver of company responsibility of the negligence or error of the boat captain and crew. As previously stated, our experience with the crew was excellent. This is simply a matter of principle and I believe it reflects poorly on the company that it won't take responsibility for its employees in the event there was negligent behavior. read more
