I wholeheartedly recommend ATC Construction. Here's my…read morestory. My wife and I wanted to replace our old, wooden, decaying patio cover. I sketched out a design for the new one. It had to be longer and wider, and it had to be of redwood construction. NOT aluma wood or any other synthetic fabrication. My design was a clean, squared configuration - with no curves or decorative curlicues. During fall 2024, I searched Yelp for a contractor for the job. I ran into two main problems. Many patio cover contractors: 1) only use aluma wood - no natural wood; and 2) only did their own designs - no customer concepts accepted ("Youre gonna take our design and you're gonna like it.") I was surprised and disappointed that my vision for a simple redwood patio cover was just not acceptable to many of the busy contractors on Yelp. Then I was contacted (through Yelp) by Cory Robertson of ATC Construction. He came by the house and we discussed my concept sketches for the new patio cover. I got the feeling that Cory enjoyed working with wood for these kinds of projects. He was enthusiastic about the project and had many useful suggestions that improved and tightened the design. I got on Cory's calendar but I had to wait a few months. When the date rolled around, the ATC crew arrived early and promptly went to work. Justin acted as foreman and directed the work. Justin is an expert communicator. He kept us informed through the various stages of the project. He and his main work partner, Matthew, are genuine craftsmen who are masters with wood. In addition to the main components of the structure, they added many beautiful design flourishes that enhanced and beautified the new patio cover. Many other helpers joined the work at various stages. All were respectful, hard workers, and of good cheer. The project lasted 7-8 days. There were no added charges. All work was performed within the financial limits of our original agreement. We love our new redwood patio cover. As a result, I enthusiastically recommend ATC Construction without reservation. Six-month follow-up Good news. A problem developed with the patio cover. They fixed it. After a few months, we noticed large blotches on the finish of the structure. We notified ATC Construction. Right away, they sent Justin to assess the problem. Justin immediately assigned several workers to fix the problem. The workers spent several days preparing the structure for an upgraded finishing coat. After the upgraded finish was applied, the blotches were gone, and the rich color of natural redwood showed through. No charge for this extensive, additional work. We want to stress that during all phases of this project, ATC Construction expressed a sincere and unwavering commitment to high quality craftsmanship, and to our satisfaction as customers.
