After messaging about hours on Instagram I drove from Costa Mesa to their store in Brea only for the store to be closed. I messaged them on Instagram and was told 1-7pm for store hours. There was no update on their Instagram or Yelp of hours being changed. Very unprofessional. They definitely lost a customer.

Sometimes it's nice to skip the big box stores and support a true neighborhood hardware store…read more I stopped in to grab a few items and, as always, found myself spending extra time checking out their incredible BBQ selection. If you're into grilling or smoking, this place is a hidden gem. They have an impressive assortment of BBQ rubs, sauces, accessories, and a great selection of Traeger pellets. It's easy to get lost browsing all the options. Of course, it's still a fully stocked hardware store, so you'll find everything you'd expect for your home improvement and repair projects too. What really keeps me coming back is the atmosphere. It reminds me of the neighborhood hardware stores I grew up with. The staff genuinely welcomes you when you walk in, they're knowledgeable, happy to answer questions, and offer advice you can actually trust. On top of that, their prices are very competitive. Shopping here just feels more personal, and it feels good supporting a local business that truly values its customers. Great people, great prices, and great vibes. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend this hardware store. Well worth the drive for us.

Beware of the store Manager here is why ! I visited…read moreMerritt's Ace Hardware on Hacienda Blvd with my e-bike because there is no secure bicycle parking outside. Before bringing it in, I asked the cashier if it was okay since I was only going to be inside for a few minutes to purchase a few items. The cashier said it was fine. A few minutes later, the store manager, who I believe is named Evan, came through the store yelling, "Whose e-bike is that?" in front of other customers. Instead of speaking to me professionally, she immediately became confrontational. I calmly explained that I only needed a few minutes to finish my purchase, but she responded by insulting me and using profanity. I'm an adult, a paying customer, and a regular shopper at this location. There was no reason for the situation to be handled with shouting and disrespect. If there was a store policy, it could have been explained politely instead of creating a scene. I reported the incident to corporate, but because this location is independently franchised, they were unable to resolve the issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this store while this manager is in charge. Customers deserve professionalism and respect, not public embarrassment over a situation that could have been handled with a simple conversation. Ty

BRIAN F*CKEN SAUL!!!!…read more This guy is the man. He has helped with multiple projects, provides amazing advice, and is the most knowledgeable person I've spoken to in this store. Working on a pocket door this year and boy did Brian give peak customer service and made my trips here a wonderful experience!

I only drove the truck for about 5 miles to transport a small tree (around 100 lbs). When I returned the truck, the fuel gauge appeared below where it had been when I picked it up. To make sure I returned it with enough fuel, I actually went back to the gas station three separate times and kept adding more gas. In total, I added 4 gallons, which is far more than a truck should use over a 5-mile trip. Despite my efforts, the employee still acted as though I was trying to avoid refueling. That was very frustrating. I did everything I could to make sure the truck was returned properly, yet I still felt like I was being treated as if I were dishonest. I understand that employees need to verify fuel levels, but relying solely on an analog fuel gauge isn't always accurate. Large truck fuel gauges can be imprecise, and adding a few gallons doesn't necessarily move the needle the way people expect. I hope Home Depot considers using a more reliable method to verify fuel usage, such as checking fuel receipts, rather than assuming customers are trying to cheat. A little more trust and better customer service would have made this experience much more positive.
