Excellent ceviche and good value, service was adequate but could be better, food took a while to get served

I've been coming to this restaurant in Pinecrest since it opened and have enjoyed the food and service. Yesterday I was there and sat outside. No one else was there. My wife had to take a work call and we asked our waiter if they could the volume of the loud awful music they were playing outside if even if just for few minutes since no one was there. . A couple minutes later he returned and said he tried to but the Manager Luis Enrique refused. When I asked if it could be lowered just a few minutes the waiter said Luis Enrique again refused. To add insult to injury Luis Enrique also refused to come to our table even after I asked the waiter for him to come out. The manager was rude and impertinent and I have no intentions of returning to this restaurant if this is the type of people they employ.I'm surprised and rather shocked since all our servers have always been amazing. Maybe Luis Enrique will have the decency to accommodate or at least speak to his patrons next time this happens. read more

Love Dr Limon in Kendall and was excited to see that they opened up a location in Pinecrest/Dadeland. Checked it out on Friday night and the place was already buzzing with a line out of the door. Good news has traveled fast! I was happy to see the place completely refreshed from the Mexican restaurant that was there before. We normally give new restaurants a pass for the first 3-6 months until they get their act together, but made an exception this time. It started great. The tostone appetizer and mojito were incredible. The special was Mahi, but it was overcooked and dry. So was the other seafood on the plate. We were so excited when we heard Dr Limon opened a location in the Pinecrest/Dadeland area! My husband and I went in on Sunday for lunch and although the place was filled with people, the hostess found us a table right away! We ordered the ceviche sampler for appetizer and it was beyond amazing- it was a taste explosion in your mouth! The drink menu had a lot of options and the ones we ordered were super smooth and well made! The entrees were equally delicious! The service was exceptional and our waitress was on top of refilling our waters and making sure everything came out on time! As someone who drinks a lot of water, I usually have to ask for refills, but not here. The waitress would notice even before I did! The food was okay compared to the original location in Kendall on 88 ST. The portion were definitely much smaller. My wife, son (10 years) and I ate from the special which contains 4 different plates that they said would feed 4-5 people and we were still hungry. Been going here several times and never an issue. Great food and service until Fathers Day 2023 when my two sons took me to dinner. One of them a veteran just graduated from FIU and unemployed and the other working making only minimum wage. The waiter first mentions their "Fathers Day special", lobster and rib eye with risotto au gratin...sounded super delicious (and it was). The issue was that he did not state the price ($65) which we found out when we got the check! Granted, we did not ask (learned my lesson) but at that price it's neither a special nor appreciated due to the fact that the place has absolutely no ambiance or in a high-end area (i.e. Brickell, Coral Gables). We were at the Dadeland area location. I asked for the manager and his excuse not telling us the price was because some people get insulted when they mention the price. To me that's BS and if there are Karens like that out there, they wouldn't be going there in the first place. I recommended it to my sons because I knew they would really like the food. I told the waiter they just lost me as a customer and would be letting all my friends know as well. I'll go to Ceviche 105 instead! At least they have ambiance as well as good food. Just had dinner with my boyfriend. Extremely disappointed with the service. Took about 10 minutes to get us waters and about 10 more to get someone's attention to receive our orders. We told two of the servers who approached of my boyfriends shellfish allergy. The server ended up recommending a sharing dish for us - large fish platter with SHELLFISH. We saw it immediately and sent it back to the kitchen and told him we'd have a ceviche instead. He came back 7 minutes later asking what it was that we wanted again because he forgot. We ended up just getting one plate, shared it, and left. I don't think we'll be returning. read more

It was very disappointing to see that the open kitchen displayed so many people in the back without their masks on. From the male cook to the kitchen supervisor expediting orders. It's a shame because front staff was doing everything right from spacing to hand sanitizers however having food contaminated is worse! I called the manager over to tell him how disappointing it was and he went to address the staff. A few minutes later their masks were off again. Dr Limon's food is good but not worth the risk considering Covid is still at high levels in Pinecrest. Will not return to this location. Went there for the first time on Friday with some friends who are regulars. I had the aji de pollo and really enjoyed it. Came back today, Sunday with my family and had a completely different experience. Ordered some appetizers (yucca with huacahina sauce and shrimp in garlic sauce) they were mediocre. For the main dish they said they had a seafood special of different seafood (octopus, fish, shrimp, mussels, scallops) sounded great. What they brought out look like left overs of pieces of seafood that needed to be cooked before it went bad. The seafood was tough and over seasoned. Will not be coming back. First visit and loved the food. HIGHLY recommend the shrimp cream soup with lots of large shrimp and a huge prawn. Ceviche was great too. SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE. It was our server as everyone around us with other servers received their food before us. Never checked on us during meal. Asked for lemon for the not so great seafood salad (small pieces with no lettuce) and never got it. Asked for to-go containers and it took forever.
