This spot is amazing! The ambiance and decor is beautiful , clean and chic. The food is delicious! The ceviche is fantastic, we all agreed that corvina kind is the best for any kind you pick. The lomo saltado is also very good cause the meat is tender and the rice is on the side. The octopus surprised us in texture and flavor! You can't go wrong

Peruvian restaurants have really became more mainstream in the last ten years in the 305. It also very competitive and recently we decided to try a new joint called Taipa located off 57 ave and Bird Road. The exterior has a nice earthy and modern feel and the menu contains all the classic Peruvian dishes. For starters we ordered their crab causa topped with sliced avocados. The causa was really good and unique because they blow torch the sides which gave it a smokey taste. For the main entree we ordered their grilled seafood platter with a side of Yuca and their huancaina sauce. The seafood consist of large octopus tentacles, calamari rings, and mussels all very fresh and flavorful. The yuca was lightly fried and crunchy. For dessert we order their picarones (fried Peruvian donuts), which was delicious and crispy. We really enjoyed our meal and looking forward to dine there again.

    Smoked salmon tiradito.

Smoked salmon tiradito--excellent, with a delicious sauce. The contrast between the smoked salmon and the tangy flavors creates a refreshing taste. The service is excellent; the best part is that the owner serves you personally, just like any other employee , something you don't see in Miami.

So far this is one of the better better Peruvian restaurants. Good portion and nice place with good service. I judge by the most common dish lomo saltado and it was tasty.

My friend choose this place because her Peruvian coworker said it was the best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. I started with a lemonade and my friend had a pisco sour. We shared a Ceviche Clasico with corvina. The fish was a little fishy but my friend liked it. I ordered the Tigre Nikkei sushi roll as my meal. I could only eat half. It was delicious! My friend had the Sudado de Pescado, which she enjoyed. Overall the food and the service were great! Will be back to try other dishes.

Wow nice , and brand new. I just got here for the first time and I am very impressed with the service the food and the prices. A much needed change to the pizza and sushi here , the desserts are unbelievable and so is their food. And you can actually hear each other talking because the music is not blasting like in most restaurants in Miami , I will definitely be coming back.

Awesome local spot with amazing Peruvian food! Everything we tried here was great - I got anticuchos and the lomo saltado with pasta to share. Meat was juicy and make sure to ask for the rocoto sauce for extra spice. Get the sangria as well!

This new Peruvian restaurant is a delight. The vibe is welcoming, bright and open. There's a bar if you'd like to sit and eat, but they only serve beer and wine. No hard liquor. The service here is great, which is surprising for a restaurant that hasn't even been open for 2 months. There weren't many people in the restaurant but the time we arrived was weird and it is a Peruvian restaurant in a Cuban neighborhood. The bathrooms are worth mentioning. Cute decor, cute pics, light and bright. I just had to put this in here. We started with Pilsen Beer as they brought out the plantain chips & traditional crunchy corn to our table. We ordered a mix of different items to taste and share. We ordered a Tuna Tartar. Excellent, although not a traditional tartar. This tartar is made with acevichado sauce, a white sauce that tasted like leche de Tigre from ceviche. Different and delicous. Yuca a la Huancaina - love this dish! Although this dish is made from smashed yucca paste and not a traditional piece of sliced yuca, it was very yummy. The star of the dish though is the Huancaina sauce, it's scrumptious! Causa de Pulpo Anticuchero. Octopus marinated in panca spices and chalaca sauce. Served cold. Very tasty. Vuelve a la Vida. Chopped fish, we chose Corvina, with cilantro, onions & Ceviche juice served in a beautiful glass. This dish is a star!!! So flavorful, so smooth and so very fresh! Conchitas a la parmesana. Baked scallops served in the shell topped with butter and melted parmesan cheese, making this dish mouthwatering. Rocoto Ceviche de Pescado - Corvina. Fresh fish marinated with a blend of creamy red pepper and lime juice, coriander and onions. served with Cancha, glazed sweet potato and Peruvian corn. Absolutely scrumptious. Picarones Desert donuts similar to Cuban buñuelos made with almivar and fried like donuts. A sweet, crunchy and very flavorful desert, probably the best desert on the menu. I'm looking forward to coming back here. There are so many items on the menu I still want to try. I definitely recommend this wonderful Peruvian restaurant and encourage you to try them and do the same.

When I first got to the restaurant around 6:15pm it was quiet, just one other table. By the time I left it was packed. I ordered the following. Juice- Chicha Morada, a burst of flavor. 5/5 Appetizer- Chicken Causa, I missed the cue that this was a cold app, but it was fine, just not for me. 4/5 Entree- Mariscos Saltado, this was really good, it came a variety of seafood, I did wish it came with more shrimp. 4/5

Tallarin Verde with Lomo Saltado. Perfect, and we ordered two at our table.

My wife, son (11), and I just had an excellent New Years Eve dinner at this place, which I had tagged in Yelp in recent months. My wife is Peruvian from Arequipa and in the 12 years we've been married she's been a great guide into Peruvian food. We've eaten in Peruvian restaurants in the New York tristate area, in Canada, and now that we live in Florida, lots of places here. I don't know how we didn't try Taipa earlier but we are happy and impressed with the staff, management, decor, and food. My son loves tallarines verdes but usually has a protein side so he chose the lomo saltado accompaniment that also comes with two roasted potatoes. This sounded good when I ordered so I ordered the same. My wife ordered the fried fish, choosing corvina, that comes with leche de tigre, tartar sauce, and fried yucca. We started with papa Huacaina. All of us raved and carried on how delicious the appetizer and meals were. We've been to C.viche 105 often think this is on par or perhaps better. The pesto is very creamy, making it rich and different, and the lomo saltado is flavorful, has top-grade tomatoes and red onions, and was just stellar. The beef was tender, as is proper. From this, and my wife's comments on the leche de tigre and homemade tartar sauce, and the smoothie huacaina sauce on the potato appetizer, it is clear Taipa knows their sauces. Our desserts of lucuma mousse with a crispy chocolate center and my maracuyá mouse on top of sponge cake with a maracuyá gel on top, were perfect. In all, Taipa and their team are amazing. We are coming back.

    Maracuyá cake very delicious

Had lunch for the first time at Taipa. We started out sharing the Pulpo a la Parrilla which was so tasty served with potatoes and Peruvian corn. For my main course I had the maracuyá ceviche with corvina and shrimp and lastly we shared a maracuyá cake which was rich tasting but light. I would definitely come again and try other dishes. Our server Alejandro went out of his way to answer all of our questions and gave us great service. The restaurant is spacious and tastefully decorated. There is parking in the lot but it does get pretty full.

Excellent Peruvian food and great service. The pricing was manageable and the overall experience was wonderful. I love this location on the border of Coral Gables, ideal for takeout ceviche. I wish them luck, I will be coming back many, many more times.

Rather than bore you with the list of everything we ordered, I'll share what we considered to be the best of the best. CALAMARI... we both love calamari, and we have eaten this dish at many different places. This was the best ever. Perfect. CEVICHE DE SALMON EN CANASTA DE TOSTON... seriously one of the most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth. While we did order both the ceviche camaron and the ceviche trio mixto, the hands-down winner, no questions asked, was the CEVICHE DIVINO. We finished with the TORTA DE CHOCOLATE and the smoothest, creamiest cup of coffee ever. My wife is a chocolate cake expert, and while I was finishing all the ceviche, she was having an out of body experience with the cake. I have to say that while we are borderline foodies and love cooking and eating, we probably are not the most adventurous. So glad today was different, and so thrilled with our decision to eat here. 10/10

I usually approach fusion restaurants with a healthy amount of skepticism. Too often, they feel…read morelike culinary speed dating, two cuisines forced together in the hope that chemistry magically appears. More often than not, one side dominates, the other disappears, and everybody loses. At Amazonia, a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant in Miami, that fear evaporates somewhere around the first bite. The opening argument came in the form of Gyoza Huancaína, pan-fried dumplings stuffed with lomo saltado and served with a vivid yellow huancaína sauce. It is the kind of dish that sounds gimmicky when described aloud. Then you eat it. The dumplings delivered deep savory notes from the beef, while the creamy sauce added brightness, spice, and richness. It felt less like a fusion experiment and more like a dish that had always existed. Four dumplings arrived on the plate. Four was not enough. My entrée, the Midori Risotto, continued the conversation between Japan and Peru. A strikingly green risotto made with kale and edamame arrived topped with grilled shrimp, microgreens, and dots of black garlic aioli. The rice was cooked properly, retaining a slight bite, while the edamame added texture and sweetness. The shrimp brought balance to the richness, and the black garlic aioli quietly tied everything together. It was a dish that managed to be both comforting and elegant. To drink, I ordered the Nikkei Lemonade, a blend of yuzu, Peruvian ginger, and huacatay. Bright, citrusy, and refreshing, it reset the palate after each bite and served as a reminder that the fusion extends beyond the food. My wife chose the braised short rib, a dish for diners who may not be ready to take the full leap into the restaurant's more adventurous offerings. Braised for 72 hours and served over mashed potatoes, it collapsed under the gentlest pressure from a fork. The beef was intensely flavorful, and the braising liquid was rich enough to make you consider asking for a spoon. Dessert brought one final East-meets-West moment. The Flan Nikkei paired a silky custard with miso caramel, whipped cream, and fresh strawberry. The miso added just enough savory depth to keep the sweetness from becoming predictable. It was a thoughtful ending to a meal built on thoughtful combinations. Amazonia succeeds because it understands something many fusion restaurants do not. Combining cuisines is not about piling flavors on top of one another. It is about finding where they naturally intersect. Here, Japanese precision and Peruvian boldness meet in the middle, and both emerge better for it. Fusion rarely wins me over, but Amazonia makes a compelling case for keeping an open mind.
