I would definitely recommend this cafe for their espresso and pastry. They have very good beans and matcha also make some very creative combinations both iced and hot! I think the barista Ivan is exceptional. I would definitely go back for a take out order! Also appreciate that they serve in ceramic and glassware for stay in vessels. The inside has 3-4 small tables and is charming but the outside patio is so so dirty! Plants are overgrown and dying and trash was on the ground under and around the tables. Flies swarmed around our drinks too! Yuk! Someone needs to show some pride of ownership and this patio would be full of customers. As it is; I would not go back and sit in that space!
Great little spot for a quick coffee and some relaxed vibes. I had a cold crew which was really good. I enjoyed the laidback atmosphere and staff were friendly!
The service here was top notch. Eli was very kind, courteous, and made a beautiful cortado. The shop itself has a nice outdoor seating area and plants throughout which makes for a nice ambiance. Given the name, I did expect more plants lol. I didn't try any of the food, but it did smell good and the pastries look delicious.
Cute little coffee shop in OB! I love the vibe, it's very aesthetic with lots of plants and thoughtful decor. They have a few tables inside as well as some outdoor seating. I ordered a latte, which was good. The almond croissant was tasty at first, but the center was a bit off, it was overly gooey, and the filling didn't seem fully cooked and tasted a little strange. Aside from that, the rest of it was really delicious. I also love that they have vegan options Overall, it's a great spot to study or get some work done, and the staff was very friendly too.
My husband and I were looking for a new Coffee Spot and stumbled upon this place. I actually saw this place multiple times when I used to go to yoga box but never saw that. Great spot if you're looking for your traditional coffees, there's not much of an expanded menu and smoothies or other juices. We also ordered their croissant breakfast sandwiches for a little disappointed that they kind of looked like reheated McDonald's sandwiches (tasted like it too). I wouldn't go back for the food but definitely want to go back for the vibes, plants, and coffee! Plants are all for sale. And patio is dog friendly!

I was excited before walking in because this is a small business in every spirit of the phrase. Its a small café that serves coffee, tea, water, juice, and baked treats. They also have plants, plant paraphernalia, and local art to purchase. The café, though small, was inviting and quite lovely. The outside area was like sitting in a corner of a plant garden. The plants are labeled, in case you're curious about or wish to purchase one. Our drinks were all yummy. I was informed that not everyone knows how to make a London Fog and theirs was quite good! The White Mocha & Oat Milk Latte were both made just right. The server was friendly, made delicious drinks, and was knowledgeable about the plants. Exactly what you'd expect from a barista in such a place.
Best coffee and atmosphere when we visited San Diego from out of town. The coffee is roasted to perfection and taste amazing! You'll love the plants that are everywhere and the face that you can earn plant rewards is awesome! A must visit if you're in OB. The staff are super friendly too!

The smell of the banana was a bit overpowering the coffee, but you could really taste how strong the coffee was. I was hoping for more of a banana and coffee mix. The service was great!
Needed a little pick me up before yoga and found this quint little cafe just right across the studio. Service was fast. The latte was smooth and well balance, not too weak and not too milky, just what I wanted.
I don't say this lightly, I have lived here for 10 years and I love supporting my local coffee shop businesses. Something about the espresso at OB coffee and plants is like elite. Never been better. I go here at least once a week now and it's just delicious and I have no other way to explain it, I'm curious if people were to get other drinks if they would also be as incredible as the latte that I get. Take it from me, go get yourself a coffee, cheers.
I got the banana bread latte, hoping that it would not be too sweet and luckily, it was just the right balance of flavor and sweetness. First sip really felt like I had just eaten a real banana bread!! Definitely one of my favorites where they got the banana note and cinnamon just right. Not to mention, I feel like the prices here are reasonable for coffee especially in this economy. Vibes are cute as it doubles as a plant nursery. Cute patio seating and some indoor seating. Plants on sale for $4+. It might be good for maybe wfh but I didn't see outlets. Overall a chill, cute local cafe that is worth a visit for their delicious banana bread latte for the fall!

They do a lot of their own propagation, too. I had a cortado and an oatmeal cookie with cranberries. The cortado was very well made. The young lady from Oregon did a very nice job on it. It was smooth and rich. The oatmeal cookie was good, too. It had a good chew and nice flavor. The little bits of cranberries were good eating. They offer a variety of espresso based beverages, vegan and non vegan baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches, not to mention toasted bagels as well. The service was very friendly and upbeat. If there were a way they could reduce the number of flies during the warmed month, that would be grand. Cool spot!

Cafe Mocha is delicious with stronger hints of chocolate mocha flavor blended with milk simply tasty. Service is friendly and inviting. Ambiance is fresh with plenty plants to enjoy! Come to Ocean Beach Coffee and Plants! read more

Small but mighty coffee shop in a sea of coffee shops. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a few indoor seats and more on an outside patio Pet friendly Plant selection is minimal so I think they lean more into the coffee part of the name I ordered a decaf dirty vanilla chai. Really good. Not too sweet. I also got a Nutella pop tart. It was a good shortbread cookie with a little bit of Nutella. Parking is street parking which is hard for OB Over all great coffee shops, ok plant shop. read more

Beyond disappointing. Worst coffee I've ever had. I ordered a cold brew with extra pistachio cold foam. The foam dissolved within minutes ....?? And the coffee tasted very artificial. read more

I'll admit, I've known about this place for a while and often walk past it on my way to or from People's, but I never stopped in. Since I drink black coffee about 90% of the time, I usually just make it at home instead of visiting one of the many great coffee shops in OB. This morning, however, I needed to drop my car off at Ebers Street Garage and hadn't had a chance to make my morning coffee yet. As my pup and I walked home past Ocean Beach Coffee and Plants, I decided to finally stop in and grab a coffee. I'm so glad I did! The two ladies working inside were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even greeted the dog of the woman who came in after me by name, which, as a devoted dog mom, I absolutely loved! A huge bonus for me is that they offer vegan pastries, which I'll definitely be coming back to try. While I wouldn't call myself a coffee snob, I am a bit picky, and if the coffee isn't good, I'd rather go without. That said, they have good coffee. I'm currently sipping on my delicious black coffee and thoroughly enjoying it. read more

Happened to find this place on maps when I was searching up vegan places nearby. While this place isn't fully vegan, they have a ton of vegan options from pastries to breakfast items. I would highly recommend checking this place out! I got the banana bread latte and it was great!!! I have no complaints. read more

Ocean Beach Coffee and Plants is a quaint oasis and a gem of a find. The staff is so accommodating and will answer any and all menu questions you may have. I ordered a cold brew on special that day with pumpkin spiced flavors & I could tell that the barista was putting lots of care and effort into concocting my drink. I then opted to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and take in the ambiance. The patio area is shaded and they have WiFi for those that want to park it in a great space for some work or relax time. I enjoyed seeing the plants around the shop and the little area with local artist's work for purchase. My cold brew was very enjoyable and I would love to come back every visit I have to Ocean Beach. read more

Came with my husband and dog for coffee one morning while on a walk. I tried the banana bread latte and loved it! It was really good. My husband had the honey cinnamon latte and it was very delicious as well. We loved our experience here, everyone is so nice and very loving to dogs. Made the experience wonderful! Cute, hip, fun coffee spot in OB with some killer bakery goods and plants throughout the establishment. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Eric who had a small queue in front of me. He was pleasant to each customer while being efficient in getting their orders ready. My turn came and I asked a few questions before settling on a coffee drink (Hazelnut latte) and a couple of almond croissants to go. The coffee was delicious, perfect as in not too sweet to where you could still enjoy the coffee flavor. The almond croissant...oh my!! Flaky buttery goodness and just the right amount of sweetness, a great combination of flavor and textures. Thanks Eric for the recommendations and I'll definitely be back to sample more goodies. read more
On a recent Thursday morning I had the days off, so I decided to stop by Ocean Beach Coffee and Plants for the first time. I was with my dog and on the way to a nearby dog park. I hadn't yet had my morning coffee, and I had seen that they sell bagels and pastries. I wanted to sit down, eat a small breakfast, drink coffee, and see if they would make a pup cup for my dog. Anyway, it was just before 10 in the morning. Street parking was free and easy. I walked in with my dog. I started to take a look at the pastries, but upon scanning the room, most of the tables indoor and outdoor were taken. There were two small empty tables inside and one small one outside. I thought it would feel too squished. Unfortunately, the area just wasn't as comfortable as I had hoped. There were plants throughout and some handmade jewelry for sale, but somehow, it didn't feel as cozy as I had hoped. I decided to skip the bagel and the pup cup, and get my coffee to go. I ordered a banana bread latte. I asked for it half sweet and with nonfat milk. They were able to do that. It came out quickly, and was hot and delicious. It tasted exactly like banana bread I was able to enjoy the coffee in the park that day. I would like to try some of their other specialty drinks. I had almost given this coffee shop three stars, as I just wan't too fond of the sitting area, but the coffee was great, and I realized that one of my favorite coffee shops is a place that doesn't even offer seating. I'm not sure if I'll ever enjoy my coffee in the coffee shop, but it's a great place to stop by on the way to the dog park or when running errands nearby. read more

Only visited quickly and grabbed a small coffee for a great price of $3, tipped 2 which $5 still feels decent for a coffee these days. I'm a barista myself and the girl working the bar was on point, friendly, and the coffee was one of the best I've had in a while. I make drip at home and just haven't been enjoying whatever roast I've been ordering...i dont even know what type of blend this was but its delicious. The dude complaining about a breve latte is just a pain in the ass type of customer, 1 star review buddy?! Ok, Now I see CJ has 24 1 star reviews, what an absolute loser. Thanks for the coffee I'll be back and I see it's dog friendly, even better! read more

Was super excited for this coffee shop and left a little underwhelmed. The coffee shop is cute and has a good, extensive menu. There is enough seating inside and outside for its size. I was sad to see that only small succulents were offered, but they had cute merch, otherwise. I tried an iced almond matcha latte, which was definitely not my favorite. The matcha color was a little dark, and it did not taste like the barista mixed the matcha well enough. The baristas were not rude to me but made their displeasure with a few customers noticeable. They looked overwhelmed, so I understand, but not the greatest vibe. Most likely won't be back. read more

I asked for a syrup combination recommendation for my iced latte and was really happy with what the baristas recommended (honey vanilla lavender iced latte). My boyfriends white mocha iced coffee didn't taste like mocha but he still enjoyed it. The baristas were super nice and quick with our orders. The inside of the shop was filled with cool succulents and plants. read more
