Came here for my birthday since this was an old favorite place from going to SDSU and living at the beach - the nostalgia of it all. Seated quickly and found street parking so we were immediately ecstatic and then little things became noticeable that this place wasn't the same....the menu was a little different, the table wobbled and was old and kind of sticky, the fake flowers didn't have the same vibe. Food we ordered the Loco Moco and a Biscuits and Gravy. The biscuits were a bit hard for me, I guess I like a squishy biscuit. We ate it all and had a nice breakfast with great service. After leaving looked it up and it has since changed ownership but it was good food, good portions and many diners were happily enjoying.

My mom and I tried to go to this restaurant last week but couldn't find parking so we left. We were able to find parking this time around. I got the ABC omelette and my mom got the lemon curd pancakes. I wish the bacon in the omelette was cooked into the eggs instead of just slapped in between the cheesy omelette but it did have a good amount of bacon. The omelette overall needed seasoning so I added salt and pepper. The potatoes were unevenly cooked with some being really crispy/almost burnt and the rest were soft. The bread needed some butter but was good with the rosemary taste. My mom liked her pancakes. Service was good. I'd give this place another chance.

Parking is very limited, we found one spot by the Gone Banana store, we paid $25 for more hours to spend on the beach. We came here on Saturday around 10:30am, the wait time was about 10-15 mins. Overall the food is good, except the chips & salsa - the chips were not authentic tortillas chips and they were stale. For the side, you can only pick salad or chips & salsa. They don't have fries or other side options. The price is reasonable considering it's close to the beach. Breakfast entrees are about $15-24.

Wait staff is very kind and straight to the point. Went on Mother's day and was only a 10 minute wait. it is a smaller, more cozy spot that seemed to have lots of locals, nice ambiance. Our waiter said they are known for their french toast and their rosemary potatoes. We ordered a variety of dishes (cinnamon french toast, mission breakfast, chilaquiles, abc and chorizo omelet, and steak & eggs) , and while the cinnamon french toast was indeed delicious, everything else was lacking any flavor. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy or finish our meal and did not feel like we needed to take it to go. The reviews are very different from our experience so maybe we just came on an off day. Maybe mother's day weekend affected the quality we received. Hope to try it again if we are in town soon!

I was excited to come here after looking at the great reviews and pictures of the food. Not sure I was prepared for the wonderful service we got coming here. You never felt like you were waiting for your water to get filled or waiting to see a member of the waitstaff. The place can get busy, but I didn't feel rushed and the food came in a very timely manner. The tables indoors were plentiful, but you didn't feel crammed. The food was really solid and I would definitely return here for brunch!

Had the best gluten free French toast! It looked like normal so I was nervous it wasn't gluten free. Makayla was super nice !

Busy, friendly, the Mission is a breakfast spot where the staff is dialed in and the energy is good. Which is why this one hurts. I'm loyal to moist, fluffy well seasoned scrambled eggs with a silky finish. What landed on my plate here? Dry, loaf-like eggs. My friend's omelet didn't fare better. The eggs were dry, overcooked. The twist: everything else was excellent. The rosemary potatoes were both moist and crisp, the thick-cut rosemary toast (very Texas toast like) was good, and the cinnamon toast was decadent. The housemade chicken breakfast sausage was delicious. Coffee and expresso drinks were not as strong as I like, but still solid. I wanted to love The Mission. On paper, this beach breakfast stop has the look and feel that I love; extra generous plates of food arrive in the arms of extra friendly local servers, and good music plays in the background. The food comes out quickly, which I appreciate. It's just that when a breakfast spot fumbles the eggs, it's hard to overlook. Fix this detail, and The Mission would be hard to beat.

Great spot for brunch, had the French toast with side of eggs and bacon. Stella was amazing server!

Such a good find for breakfast! The food was delicious and had unique tastes that you don't get from just any breakfast place. Our server was so sweet and recommended the cinnamon french toast and mission rosemary, which we ended up ordering, and it did not disappoint! The french toast wasn't too sweet, it was the perfect amount, and so delicious too. The rosemary bread was the highlight for me, with the whole dish being a perfect breakfast! They also have a coffee stand inside with a variety of different drinks & some pastries too. Came on a Sunday during brunch time and got very lucky with parking and no wait! There seems to be a good amount of seating for both small and large parties. There's also art on the wall for sale which is a cute little touch! Will be coming back to try more on the menu!

The service was good and we didn't have to wait long for a table but we all though the food was just so so. The drinks were also lacking.

Chilaquiles were so so soggy that I ate two bites and left the rest of the dish untouched

I was very excited to eat at The Mission since the line is always long and due to its location in the heart of Mission Beach, but I left extremely disappointed with a headache and starving.. Let me start by saying, I am very grateful for The Mission offering vegan options. However, the chilaquiles were so soggy I could not even eat them. I asked my boyfriend to try them just to see if maybe I was being too critical, but he agreed and actually described them as tortilla mush. I added a side of tofu, hoping it would add to the chilaquiles in place of the egg, but even that was disappointing. The tofu was teriyaki flavored with smothered with grilled mushrooms and onions. Very good with the right dish, but a terrible combination with soggy tortilla chips on a bed of black beans. I took the tofu home but left nearly the entire plate of chilaquiles untouched. Additionally, the restaurant itself was so loud that my ears hurt. I did notice The Mission also offers a vegan bowl and tamale plate. So perhaps those would be a better option for my fellow vegans!

Great service but the food was only mediocre. We heard it had the best breakfast in town so we had to try the out. Hostess was polite and handled customers well. Our server took our order quickly- Lemon pancakes and side of eggs for me and French toast and sausage for my partner. We also ordered iced Mexican mochas with oat milk. The pancakes were thick , the lemon was tangy but the combo wasn't great. My eggs arrived cold and had to be remade. The French toast was average. Our Mexican Mochas were made with Hershey's syrup ( not Mexican chocolate) and we think they made them with regular milk instead of oat since we both had digestive issues later. Would not recommend

Everything was amazing. From our friendly server Tessa and our fantastic breakfast. Tessa was super helpful and suggested we share because the plates were huge. She was right. We went back 3x for breakfast out of 6 days. We had the mission and a side of pancake and also an avocado toast. Coffee and lattes were both delicious. We definitely recommend this breakfast spot.

I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

Good coffee, reasonable prices, and a fun selection that gives this little PB coffee shop its identity. Nothing flashy just simple drinks with growing flavors to reflect the diversity of people that come and visit. Their maybe many coffee shops in this are but it had a good charm.
