It's really sad and unfortunate that Ocean Buffet is basically the "best" chinese buffet Nacogdoches has to offer. But hey, it's definitely much better than China Star! It's not the worst I've ever had, I've never gotten sick, but I've truthfully had much much better in my lifetime. I do still go to Ocean and can honestly say that my last couple of trips were by far better than my first. My first trip was HORRIBLE. Everything I put on my plate and tried to eat seemed to taste slightly burnt, like the oil it was all cooked in that night was burnt and needed to be thrown out. I ended up giving Ocean a second chance, and they did redeem themselves. I'll keep going, but Nacogdoches could do so much better. It's just kind of sad and disappointing. read more

This is probably the best Chinese buffet I've been to in a while and for lunch for two it's pretty reasonable.

Best Chinese and Asian in Nacogdoches. Buffet plus ordering from a Hibachi grill plus a nice but limited sushi selection. Lots of vegetable and seafood selections, good hot and sour soup and three other soups, two types of lo main and rice, much better than average seasoning on entrees. Very reasonable buffet and take out prices, highly recommended. read more

As far as your Chinese buffet goes, this place is average. The billboard advertises crab legs, but never seen it during lunch, or even the one time I've eaten dinner here. The menu selection isn't bad ( being that it's in a small town ) and like other buffet places, the food is always overcooked. But, it's all you can eat!!! read more

Large amounts of choices of a variety of buffet items both Asian and American. Food that I had was overcooked and oversalted. I did try the sushi which was blah but I did not get sick so that was nice. The restaurant has their cleaning supplies and bus items right by the entrance which is next to a water feature. Definitely the best Chinese in Nac and is actually comparable to some of the better buffets I have been to in Austin and Dallas. The only drawback is that this place is always packed. Nacogdocheans love their food and will run you over if you get in the way! So you can probably imagine how bad it gets when 30 of them are scrambling for the buffet at the same time. I actually had a lady hover her hand over mine waiting for the serving tongs while I was making a plate! So, in short--the food is good, and I will definitely go back...when the parking lot is empty. Worst food ever not well kept or maintained. It's was ridiculously expensive 25 dollars for two people including the Valentine special and sfa student discount. Food was very soggy. Employees not properly trained "she (short girl) is new she doesn't know what she is doing" told by the tall Asian man ,messed up charging me twice, accidentally charging me the wrong price the first time and not refunding me the money until I realized on my bank statement. It was a typical chinese buffet to me, mostly fried foods with some sushi and whatnot mixed in, but it was really fresh and not too greasy. The crawfish were pathetic and I really don't recommend that at all. The price was good for the amount/quality of food that you got so I would tell friends to pay this place a visit. read more

I've been to this place twice. First trip was good service and ok food. The 2nd trip I decided to bring 10 friends and family. We arrived and the waitress seated us and took our drink order. One of our guest decided to go check the buffet out and was pointing his finger towards the back of the establishment letting everyone in our party see how big the food spread was. All of a sudden the head waiter came out and started screaming at him for no reason. It took the nice waitresses to calm this crazed waiter down. We were shocked by his rudeness. While we were eating, the same waitress apologized several times while the head guy just stood the at his station. The waitress said they would give us a good discount because of what happen. When we got the bill she only took off $4 dollars from a $88 dollar bill. We won't be going there again ! read more

the absolute worse!!! food was cold , hard, and terrible!! you can tell it had been sitting for long periods of time. waitress had an attitude. she brought me my drink with her hand over the top of the glass with her finger dang near in the drink. it was just ridiculous!!! for about $14 you would expect better. won't be back! read more

My mother and I visited this place around 3:30pm and were seated. The food wasn't appealing based on first sight. Shortly after our first trip to buffet - they began putting out fresh food and seafood and we were told its for dinner guests only and they brought us our bill. I looked at Bill and it said "2 lunch buffet". We asked when dinner started because we wanted the fresher food and seafood and they said 3:45 and it would be $3+ more. Unbelievable. The food was cold and disgusting on the 3:30pm lunch buffet. Dirty, rude staff, and skeptical lunch/dinner timing. I will never return. Also, the sign says "Crab Legs" and "180 items" yet, you can only have certain items and they rush you your ticket to try and prevent you from enjoying the fresh "dinner items" whenever you arrive around 3:30 and not aware their lunch/dinner shenanigans. Lastly, use the restroom before you visit, that is if you dare attempting this scam, because they are disgusting. read more

Best chinese buffet in Nacogdoches. Always great service, always good food. Would recommend for lunch or dinner.

Only problem was the greeter/cashier. Real tall man who did not meet with a smile and when I paid up front DID NOT say thank you, come back or squat...but rather quickly tossed change in my hand. Will not be back because of this one mans attitude. Needs to be corrected. read more

I've been there many times and have raved to my friends.. Monday 4/22 was another story.. the floors and tables were filthy..waitresses sat in corner texting & visiting. I had a crab that tasted like it had been in the fridge for a week. They need to shape up. read more

The food was terrible. The waitstaff were terrible. The prices were not as terrible. The cleanliness of the restaurant is general was terrible. . The cleanliness of the buffet tables was terrible. The cleanliness of the booths we sat in was terrible. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was terrible. Though at this point, I would have been surprised if it were clean. I will not say that anything was beyond redemption. I will say that our experience was very bad. Bad enough for us to never think of returning again. We have advised our other family and friends not to visit the place either. The food was old and stale. When I mentioned this, staff pretended not to understand what I was saying and told me that there was other food on the buffet. The waitsaff were talking and laughing loud enough to be heard from the front doors-where they were congregating for the entirety of our stay. They had to be called to wait on us each time we needed something. Our table was sticky and grimy. When the waiter wiped it down, it became sticky, grimy, and wet.....in the end I cleaned it myself! There were little bugs at the windows, litte bugs on the tables, flying insects at the buffet. That was terrible. read more
