I stopped by here one weekend since I heard they had pretty good grilled snails. The last time I was here was when it was a Vietnamese restaurant. The current interior is all decorated in nautical motif, with several nets, fishing poles, etc. I ended up ordering the grilled snails (bo luc lac style), blood clams, razor clams, and mango salad. My favorites were the snails and mango salad, although the mango slivers were kinda crunchy. Most of the blood clams were really chewy and the razor clams were ok, if not a little dry. I've had better. Service was decent, but that may have been due to the lack of customers. Only 1 other party was there on a Saturday lunch. Not sure how they will survive, maybe their dinner service is busier. read more

In the beginning. The server was horrible. Let us wait for 30 minutes and we even ask a couple of time for some items but they just ignore us. When we wanted to order something. They just took all the menu away from us. Most of the food in the menu is out and it only begin dinner service. Most of the clams still hasn't clean that great and still has sand in them. We ordered "bourdin balls" it piping hot outside but it still cold in the middle like they microwave it or something. They charged us extra for the food that we not even eat or take to go. First time here and the food came out pretty fast. We tried several different dishes. From periwinkle and sweet snails to salted squid and cockles. I liked the Grilled Scallops and Quail Eggs. Though a few quail eggs were over cooked. I also enjoyed their boiled shrimp in the House Special Sauce. Though I believe the first order was only 1lb instead of two. You can see the difference in the photos provided. Which is why I give this place 3 stars. The waitstaff was ok. Not too tentative, requested refills often. 1. Ambiance: The decoration of the restaurant is fantastic. I feel like I am on a fishing boat. There is an elevated level in the back of the restaurant and the wallpaper has pictures of many different sea creatures. The entire restaurant is painted blue to resemble the ocean and wooden chairs, and pillars resemble a boat. 2. Food: Our table ordered seafood fried rice, crawfish, clams, conch, and chicken feet. We ordered two dishes per type so each side of our table can sample all of the foods. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned. The crawfish was a little small, but since it's not in season, I totally understand. The seasoning of the crawfish was fantastic. The clams and conch were also good to try. The chicken feet were extra crispy as it has been deep fried. 3. Service: I am not sure of the server's name, but he was attentive to our table. He notified us that live crawfish was not available. Throughout the dining experience, he was very helpful and friendly. 4. Costs: I did not pay for the dishes and cannot seem to recall the price. We got the snails fingers and the oyster cheese here. The food was ok, the snails fingers was little too salty and the oyster was good! We got a passion drink too which was too sweet for me and I am usually a sweet tooth person. The total was $42.19 for everything. We ordered soft shell crab with salted egg sauce however it tasted like thousand island sauce, zero taste of salted egg flavor. It was unfortunate that this place was a let down after being so excited to come back and eat their food. Last time I was here their oc Len xao dua with the garlic bread was one of their best dish. This time around they served us bad sea snails which made the whole dish bitter and inedible. We also ordered Sò Điệp Nướng Trứng Cút, and the scallops were over cooked and rubbery. The only thing decent here were the crawfish but even that was on the saltier side. We also ordered it with corn and sausages but they forgot the sausages and corn. When we told the waiter, another lady who I assume is the owner butt in and told us those weren't included with the crawfish, which we knew since we ordered them. Called in yesterday and ask what time they were close. They said kitchen closes at 9:40. My group of friend and I arrived at 9:20 and ordered by 9:30. We were sat down and they literally were standing there rushed us to order. If you are a service restaurant, why are you rushing? Fucking terrible. Never once checked on us if we needed anything. We Always had to signal them to come over. They had about 7 servers and waiter waiting to go home. The food was absolutely disgusting. We ordered squid, a plate house fried rice and oyster. The house fried rice was discolor not even fully cooked and salty as hell with no texture. Why even have last call at 9:40 might as well close the kitchen an hour before you guys actually close instead. The squid literally had no flavor what's so ever plain as fuck. Oyster was shit as well. Pure garlic tasted and burnt the oyster itself, good job. Fucking regret leaving a tip too should of just walked out and not even pay for this meal. This is a decent Vietnamese style crawfish and seafood restaurant. Overall the foods here are good and cheap, very worth a try. Crawfish is $5.99 per lbs, pretty good price comparing to other nearby places (usually $8-11 per lbs). The crawfish size was medium/large mix (most were large) and we ordered with the house special sauce. The sauce was good, except that it was slightly too sweet for my taste. The sauce smelled and tasted buttery with lots of garlic, which I loved! Grilled clam (so long) and grilled oysters are the must! They were big, fresh and delicious, definitely the highlights of the meal, everyone's favorite. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly, most places tend to overcooked when it comes to grilling seafoods. Salt n pepper squid was good. The coating was well seasoned and crispy while the squids were tender. Ngheu hap xa was just alright, the clams were huge and fresh but the broth wasn't good. It tasted like instant tom yum soup. It was spicy. Goi xoai oc was alright as well, I wasn't surprised. It came spicy. I had it better at some where else. Come and give this place a try. The grilled seafoods are much better than other nearby places on Bellaire and the prices are reasonable, I think it's a little bit lower too and better quality. I saw their post on Instagram about their $6.99/lb special on crawfish (fresh not frozen, I called and made sure) so my friend and I went. It was empty at 5:30pm on a Wednesday. We ordered crawfish and boiled shrimp (sides: potato & sausage) and there's a complimentary salad with your meal which was nice since we didn't plan on eating veggies at all. The garlic butter mild was very good and had a slight kick to it. The crawfish seemed a little over cooked since they were kind of hard to open. The batch was meh as well since some were super tiny with little to no meat inside and some were super big. The potato was not cooked well bc it was hard and I had dip it in condiments just to soften it up a bit. The sausage was great! The service here was really nice and we had three different people come ask how we were doing or dump out our shells (including the owner/manager). As for the boiled shrimp, it was fantastic! We loveeeeeee this restaurant! For the outstanding service and most definitely for the quality of the food that is offered. From the nice boss lady to the attentive and attractive host, and all of the staff on deck, you see a lot of teamwork and communication. That's a major plus for a busy eatery. Yes they usually are always jammed packed. Have dined in a handful of times and finally had a moment to compliment them for this recent visit on Monday for Memorial Day. There was a 40-45 minute wait for the dinner rush but we were seated within 30 mins. That's always appreciated instead of giving minimal wait time but encountering max time. Thank you Team Ocean! Holidays will result in many favorite items to be limited, but food still came out accordingly and hot. All of our seafood tasted great and even a few dishes were better than times before. It was so enjoyable. There are a few salted egg sauce dishes that we've tried but imo not recommended. Usually there isn't a twang to it but the sauce can be too much on certain seafood if it isn't consumed while it's hot. Closed on Tuesdays and the menus have pictures! Yay! The crawfish they offered were live (not frozen) and was very fresh. The garlic butter crawfish option was so flavorful and well done. The restaurant also offered a few other options of snail dishes but were in very high price tags, which I considered very expensive for the area and location (ranging from $15 to 18). The only dish I dislike was the house special gumbo, it was relatively plain and tasteless, we ended up putting substantial amount of tabasco sauce to power up the flavor a little bit. read more

This is my first time coming to Houston... Base on YouTube and Google ect recommendation for crawfish I decided to try. I did not have an appointment but I was willing to wait for a groups of 6... the host told me it be a few minutes which I confirm again (how long is the waiting?) 15/20minutes... we decided to wait.. 15minutes later the host gave us a paper and menu.. and told us while you wait you can check and write down your orders.. which I like the idea.. I was really patience, while my group be complaining "how long do we have to wait?" I told them "we the 4th in line" so maybe 15/20minutes... within my 1hrs waiting I saw tables of opening and they only walking people who have appointment go in first (which they were 10/15minutes late) I understand since we don't have appointment we have to wait but seriously *1 hours* my group was very annoying and they keep complaining with me im getting annoying too... if they can't take big group over 1hours waiting they should of told me, instead "ooh give us a few minutes" Fast foreword... we finally got our table... the food was out maybe within 10minutes... but the server suck !!! You working in the restaurant industry but we have to ask for everything ... and we I saw there a few items I ordered missing.. I called the server over ... she walked me through the iPad of the list of item I ordered... but when I point out there a missing from my seafood boils, the reply she gave me was "uuuhh you didn't order it, this what you order you see the ticket it list you only have 1.." which maybe instead of you telling me what I order you should reply "ooh im sorry, maybe there a miscommunication when order *someone* hear it wrong instead of two order they put down one... I can add the order and it will not take long for me to fix it" but she didn't nicely reply to my issue.. she put the blame on me that I did not order... I order everyone double instead of one ... when my group is 6 I know they can eat so I make sure everyone will be full... well I know I didn't mistake my order because my friend and I both write down the order then hand to the host to confirm... plus I walk through the order with the host and double check each items and add two grilled items since one item of mine is not in season or something like that... the restaurant have so many issue of running the business!!! The order was passed down 4 different people... from the host, to the lady, to the waiter, to the bar to punch in the order.. so many people for just a damn order !!!! Sorry to say need to clean the restaurant and manage better for the future customers!!!! I was so annoying and angry but I just let it go and finish and just leave... I wouldn't give 1 star since there not zero star !!!! The whole experience is so different from the YouTube recommendation... I will never come back to this restaurant.... The host was wonder with dealing with customers order and explain the items... but waiting time she wasnt honest much which I understand because all business want customs in and not walking away .... And lastly the food !!! Fried rice, I don't know if it because the front was so rush they cracked so many egg shell in my rice ! And the salad was so spicy !!! Great selection of seafood and very reasonable prices. We normally go to Captain T for snails whenever we're in town but we do enjoy it here much more. The seasoning is better than most places I have tried in Houston. Will be back for sure. read more

I dont know why this place has some of low ratings but it actually one of a decent place for seafood around the area. It's not a usual crawfish place like other restaurant around but it has other Vietnamese dishes that no one has. The price is cheaper and portion is much bigger comparing to HotPot One. I used to go Hp One for snails and clams but they dont have fresh ones like here. Today I ordered grilled shrimp and squid were so so good.
