For the most part, deal went fine. I got what I paid for and knew, and prepared for, some work to be put into a high Mileage vehicle. Two issues: 1) Making deal with John we agreed to an Out the Door price. Including Tax, Title, Etc. Here we are almost 3 weeks later and the boss Doug is calling me asking for more money! He says he had to reregister the vehicle. Allegedly, he has the plates and tags now (instead of having the DMV send to me as I was told they would do) and is holding them until I give him an additional $200! He knows I'm getting ready to move out of state and need those. EXTORTION? 2) Second issue is minor in comparison, but during the buying process I had to sit for an hour and a half while John tried to get the CC machine to work. I bought a car for my grand daughter and I think the saw us coming. Older woman and teenager, easy targets. Doug told us a motor mount was bad. The motor seemed strong and the interior was clean. The car was owned by a school district and they tend to maintain them well. The price to replace a motor mount in inexpensive so we purchased the car. I took it to my mechanic and he told me it wasn't safe to drive. The entire suspension was bad. Doug fro. Ocean imports knew we had an hour drive home and could car less that he sold an unsafe vehicle to an older woman and a child. This place is dishonest and a rip off. BEWARE!!! He was comfortable selling a car that I specially told him I was buying for my 17 year old daughter and that I didn't want her to be stranded on the side of the road. Bought "as is" per his contract and it has been a total nightmare ever since. Bought and took to the dealer to inspect, broken crank bolt and so many things to replace. Went to the store, They were nice enough to give me all the time I wanted to look over the cars I was intrested in, Let me take a nice road test, And answered all of the questions I had. Their technician was kind enough to come out and answer some additional questions for me. The worst thing was having to decide which one of the 2 cars I wanted. Absolutely no pressure friendly environment and absolutely by far the quickest and easiest deal I ever made on a vehicle. I had to run to the bank, by the time I returned paperwork was completed I sign my name, droped some cash, and was on my way! It took longer to add the vehicle to my insurance policy then the entire transaction at the dealer. Absolute pleasure to deal with, highly recommended! We just sold them a car. The whole process was very easy and low pressure. John was very nice. He even washed the car before he looked at it. We decided to sell them the car. While we were inside filling out the paperwork, one of their people decided to use the buffer and polish the headlights on my other car (which had yellowed and was really appreciated). Be diligent when buying a car here. I bought a Subaru from them and they reset the codes so the check engine light and traction control light would not go on but it did as soon as I bought it and they had me bring it back multiple time never really fixing the issue. I am 35+ miles away but was hopeful they would actually help each time. So now the small oil leak John said he could have fixed for a couple of hundred dollars turned into a major leak between the head and the block leaking on the exhaust manifold. In the last few months that I have owned the car the service lights are back on and my power steering has gone out. Please make sure to take any car to be looked at by a reputable mechanic before purchasing. I am so very sorry I bought a car here. read more

Do not buy a car from these bums. They tried to sell me a lemon. I walked in this week with high hopes because of an ad I seen with a great price & met all the criteria of a vehicle I wanted. I explained to these kooks that I am a Mother of 2 small children & needed a reliable vehicle but instead the salesman I believe his name is Dave something or other & I think he was drunk as a skunk when he sold us this car while drinking his coors light, Told us we can patch the front bumper & that the car runs great but then said he never even test drove it...yet his stupid dogs towel was in the front seat...nobody gives a shit man, you're a cheat & a liar. Do not buy the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport From here, it's a LEMON!! The security sensor beeps the entire time you drive!! I have no idea how they were able to disable it while I test drove it but thanks but no thanks. I stopped payment with my bank early in the morning & thank God they were too hungover to run the check they may have literally gotten away with this bad business. They sold the car with known issues dealer confirmed the odometer had been tampered with to show lower miles when sold as well as major mechanical issues were known and not disclosed. Truck lasted about 9 months. Brakes were completely rusted out and would have cost more to repair than I paid for the truck. My fault for not getting it properly checked out by a mechanic. My short cut was to take it to Jiffylube for an oil change and asked them if they thought I got a good deal. They said they thought it was a good deal. But when I showed it to my mechanic later he said I should have taken it to him in the first place. He would have spotted the problem right away and recommended I not buy it. Lesson learned. I would strongly suggest shopping elsewhere for a used vehicle. Partners John, Rick and Doug are not to be trusted. I made an offer to purchase a pickup at the asking price as long as they had the required smog inspection completed and passed They strung me along for over three weeks saying they were having trouble getting the codes to clear for the smog test but that they would hold the pickup for me. After calling every other day or so for 3 weeks, Doug tells me they sold it. There was a time when a man's word was as good as gold. That time has passed, apparently. read more

We are so happy with Doug and Sean and the rest of the team! The car was waiting for us when we arrived. They handed us the keys and we drove and examined the car, taking our time. We wanted to take the car to our mechanic in San Diego, so we bought the car with a $100 extra fee to be able to return it within 48 hours. Car needed regular maintenance, brake pads and clutch were worn, but even so, car was in great condition and otherwise sound. I cross-checked all other ~2007 Subaru Outbacks in dealerships and private sellers in Southern California, and including the cost of maintenance (and replacing brake pads/clutch), this was still, impressively, the best price. It was a pleasure to do business with these guys. They were absolutely kind. They even offered us homegrown oranges, and drove up to the gas station after we left to deliver us a bag of oranges! Bought a truck here and I told Doug why I'm buying this truck. If you google commercial vehicles for California dmv, it says if the vehicle is used for profit.. I told him this is personal use and to tow my dirt bikes. How the f*ck is that commercial?? He told me he would sell it to me for $4,000 out the door. We get in and he starts writing up the paperwork, asks several times what the tax is where I live, because customers should do the dealers work, then proceeds to tell me now it's $4,500. I bought this truck February 10 and they put me as the registered owner from before the tags expired. I got the registration in the mail and the tags that expire in a few months. Now I'll have to go to the dmv and register it again and get their screw up straightened out. I told them I was spending the extra money there to avoid the dmv from buying an auction truck.
