We stopped here on our first day in Narragansett - the place we originally wanted to go to only took cash so we opted for this place. Buster Krab's with a K is definitely one of those coastal town American restaurants that do well with vibes and big groups but leaves a lot to be desired. I did love the kitschy-ness of the restaurant -- the logo was for sure made in Microsoft Word. What I really appreciated about the place was the waitress was able to do individual bills for 12 people which is a feet and of itself so kudos to the team that work there. Trust me it was not me that asked for individual bills, I would never do that. I got a spicy margarita that was alarmingly neon, green and so strong. The lobster roll that was $30 was really average. Overall, nothing super special but a typical coastal town restaurant. Service was superior though. read more

Ended up randomly deciding to come here after being at the beach and it was a great choice. Now for me I'm very picky about lobster rolls because a lot of place offer a bit of lobster on a tiny roll. Here the lobster roll was a great size and very filling it was also super delicious. I also got the fish and chips and it was also very good and filling. The service was pretty good I got seated right away and the server was attentive and food came out quick. The ambience of the place is nice cause you have outside seating with views of the boats and places around. Definitely will come back for that lobster roll. read more

It was my 1st time there & I ordered take-out- I wanted to try their New England Clam Chowder. It was SO much better than one I had recently from another place. This Chowder was thick & flavorful. Everything about it was very good. One interesting detail: I tasted a slight hint of Garlic, which is not usually in Clam Chowder-It was barely noticeable but added another element of flavor, which I enjoyed. Wow! I can't believe that there was literally no wait here on a Saturday night! We came here because the line for George's and Champlin's was extremely long. We came here and got right in & they were dog friendly which is a plus! I got the fish and chips, and split it with my son. My boyfriend got the surf & turf & we both really enjoyed our meals. The drinks we got were AMAZING. My boyfriend got the Lava flow (Miami Vice), & I got the strawberry daiquiri & they were extremely good. Delicious. Our server was great. I usually write pretty lengthy reviews, but with this place I just don't have it in me. We went here when the wait was too long for George's and for Champlin's. And that is just about right - good enough in a pinch but nothing special. I had the fisherman's platter which was a mistake - just too much too fried. I'd suggest just going for the fried scallops over the clams or fish - it was by far the best of the 3. I do have to give major credit for creativity on one of the kids items - it was a Mac & cheese with a hot dog sliced to look like an octopus with goldfish in top. Tried this place on a whim. Was told we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, actually took over an hour. Service was slow and unattentive. And the food was over priced and not of good quality or presentation. Not to mention an overly loud karaoke stand going on while you're trying to have dinner conversation. Have been vacationing in Narragansett for the past few summers and this was the first time my husband and I went to Buster Krab's. We are big bar hoppers and instantly felt at home here. We came in on a Tuesday evening and there was no wait for a table of seven, we had to wait for the rest of our table and the manger came and let us know that the rest of our party could park in the back. The food took a long time but our waitress did let us know the the food was backed up and later the manger came and apologized to us for the late food, that they were short staffed. Our food came and was delicious but our fries were cold, which was fine because they ended up coming and bringing us some fresh ones. Labor day. Sunny. Warm. A light breeze. Ahh, another perfect opportunity to sample the bucket of Coronas (4 for $13.99) and a bit more of the menu. I had the fish sandwich which was done perfectly. A light golden brown and within that light deep-fried batter was fresh, wonderful fish. Served with the Da Kine fries. YUM! Wife had the mahi mahi, steamed vegetables and Da Kine fries. Another winner. One other entree was sampled and that was "The Aristokrat" burger. A big, juicy burger topped with lump crabmeat and hollandaise. Rocking! Their lobster roll is huge - not served on a hot dog roll but in a carved out torpedo roll stuffed with 8 ounces of chunks of lobster. I went with the Da Kine fries with horseradish dip & coleslaw as sides, mmm. My wife went with the crabcakes, I faked her out a bit with the ol "hey look at the seagulls" trick and grabbed one of them (she didn't need all three of 'em), it was pretty tastey but I would say more on the bread & spicey side than crab side yet still good. It all went good with a few Narragansett beers, they were so good they ran out and I switched over to Harpoon. If I could give this spot higher than a 5 star I honestly would! This was my first time coming here and I have lived in RI since I was born. The service was amazing (we had Patty), the food was amazing, whatever band was playing made sure they hit all the new school and old school r&b plus every other genre, and the owners were so nice! Both him and his wife were going to every table making sure that everyone was doing okay and he shook everyones hand. We got to talk to the owner when we were leaving to congratulate him on the food and everything else. He mentioned he was a former Professional Football player that played overseas at young age and he was soooo super humble - him and his wife! He said that he tries to remember everyones names and wants everyone to feel like family and he honestly did exactly that! Now to the food. (the spelling is how their menu spells it) We ordered the larger Combo it came with: 3 King Krab Legs, 1 bowl of mussels, 6 coconut shrimps (amazing!), 2 snow Krab klusters legs, 2 krab kakes, 1 corn split in half, 2 skewers of grilled shrimp (6 pieces each), some sauces and butter, plus a bottle of flip flop wine for only $75! (yes the bottle of wine is included in this package!) For seafood lovers this is definitely the place. The only thing I would probably change is the mussels to little necks but that is only because I prefer little necks over mussels. The mussels were still good tho! But honestly ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! we ordered 2 watermelon mojitos in the beginning as well and the bill literally only came out to be $100. This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The burger, ordered medium rare, was less than rare...sickening to even eat. The "fried scallops platter" consists of frozen scallops likely just heated up in the oven based on the look of the breading and chewy consistency. The pictures I've seen on here from past reviews look nothing like it. They only get a star for the bartender. At least he was nice and my drink was good. Atmosphere was fun. But that's where it stops. Sat down and it took probably longer than it should have for a waitress to greet us-fine. We were ready to order drinks and food. We order the $75 platter. Came with king crab, snow crab, crab cakes, coconut shrimp, grilled shrimp and mussels as well as corn. The deal also came with a bottle of wine ( we just took it to go ) Where do I start. Mussels were dry, crab cakes were dry, under cooked and cold. Grilled shrimp were ok, coconut shrimp seemed like a frozen box version. Now on to the crab. There was one king crab leg that tasted like chemical. There was a good amount of snow crab. (Yes good news) except for the fact that one of the clusters was literally rotted and brown. As soon as we saw that we stopped eating, not that we started because they did not have the proper utensils to do so (crackers, no picks...think I have crab shell stuck in the cuts I have on my fingers). Now on to the service. The waitress was very nice. But I'm not sure she's ever been in service before. She did not pre set the table. Ok she brought us the bucket with two bibs, wet naps, one small cocktail fork and two crackers. Side plates came after the food was taken out as well as forks and knives (I wasn't exactly going to dip my crab cake in the aioli). If we ordered a second drink she did not take the old glass. A woman that was also working (I assume) asked if we wanted to move to a bigger a table, but we declined assuming the waitress would clear as needed. No. The waitress dropped the food off then disappeared. We flagged down that same lady who suggested another table to ask for the (I'm unsure of the proper name) the tool you use to open the hard shell of a crab (almost like a saw with the pokers as well). The waitress came back with "sanitized" scissors from the front desk. We declined. My boyfriend asked for the bill and the waitress asked if we wanted a box-no, we don't want to box the seafood platter. She then came back and asked if we wanted anything else and I said no thank you and that the bill was all set. It came to $115 and we left $140. She tried to walk away with the bill, but we had our drinks to finish and she literally left the bucket with the swill in it as well as a plate full of crab and left over whatever sitting in front of me. I'm sorry but if you're a server please clear the table (especially seafood!). I called her back and handed her both things. To end this shit show -not a manager or someone in charge came over to ask why this girl came back to the kitchen with basically a full platter of food. We were in no way trying to take it off our bill. However, if you care about the satisfaction of your customers you probably should check on the reason why everything went down the way it did. (I wouldn't have minded the fat if had been at least a bit crispy. Alas, no). They were steam roasted and then bathed in a very unexceptional BBQ sauce. Coronita Margarita was also tasty. Had to try this interesting take on a margarita since I've seen it before but never ventured to dive in. Done up right with a mini Corona bottle upside down, suspended over a fishbowl margarita that wasn't too sweet, nor sour. Atmosphere - Sucky. It is literally on the inside of the Point Judith traffic rotary right next to a trailer park / parking lot. Sure. You can tell they did put some effort into the decor, but still yuck. If I walk out of a place with a tab over a 50 spot for light bites and a couple drinks, gimme something decent to look at. And I know they're trying to be cute but I just can't stand places that intentionally misspell a well-known word in the name of the restaurant. My own pet peeve,but it drives me KRAZY. After trying a few my personal favorite was the Pain Killer! Yum! Second runner up is Toes in the Sand. Ordered a couple appetizers... Nachos - yes! Lots of goodness smothered all over each and every chip. Reef chips - house chips with cheese sauce to dip? I'll take two please! **I kept the cheese sauce to dip my sweet potato fries in!! Which btw, the sweet potato fries were out of this world. Nice huge chunks! Only advice when ordering them is to get them cooked well!! Let's talk entrees... Dinner on a beautiful evening after a day at the beach. Sat on the patio facing the street, but the fence hid the traffic and the street noise. Sun was setting so it was cooling. Kids order salads (yes, salads) - daughter had some hawaiian salad with chicken, pineapple and strawberries (they ran out) on mixed greens and son had a cobb salad. Both were tasty, fresh and bountiful for two small kids (7 and 9). DW had the crabby patty sandwich, which was just okay - lots of breading and no apparent chunks of crab, though we could taste the crab. Came with cole slaw on a large roll. A review said the scallop and bacon sandwich was great so I tried it - very good, lots of large sauteed scallops, strips of bacon on the bottom on a hot dog bun w/ lettuce. Very fresh, very tasty, and a little spicy mayo. Came with fries and slaw. All in all a great meal, price was about $80, which included 3 sodas and one Gansett beer. The coconut shrimp decadent, the "most expensive lobster roll" was not the most expensive one I've had (I think it was about $22), but it was huge and delicious. The cole slaw was better than average, the fries were - well fries. The fish tacos were fresh but didn't knock my socks off. Overall, this was a fun meal - close to both the BI ferry in Pt. Judith as well as the beach... a nice, relaxing outdoor location for a mellow summer meal and mini-get-away without having to leave mainland RI. read more

We thought we would try the crazy "new' place (compared to Georges and Champlins that have been there for 15+ years) with the fake palm tree outside of it. It's a tiny restaurant, with most seating on the deck. It was nice enough to sit outside (I'm glad as I think it would be very tight if the deck were not open) Even though there was only one other couple eating, we had to wait for the hostess. The other 4 servers chatting apparently couldn't seat people. Initially, the service was good, but dropped as it got busier from the people getting off the ferry. However, the chowder was very good, and the salad was fresh and good as well. All the restaurants in this area are overpriced for what you get- you are on the water in New England- so even in a tiny shack the seafood was more than you would pay off the water. The drinks are pricey for what you get and on the deck, it's in a small plastic cup of course. Overall? I'd go back to Champlins before here. Just as rustic but better food. read more

I understand that COVID has affected everyone, so I'll cut them some slack, but they were busy and the host staff was downright rude.....so we walked across the street to Buster's where the staff was nothing short of lovely. We got sweet chili calamari with wasabi mayo, clam chowder, and onion rings. Our table ordered lobster mac and cheese, veggie burger, lobster roll, fish and chips, and lobster tacos. I tried the veggie burger and lobster mac and they were both very good. Most of the meals come with great fries too. Picked this place because it looked super cute. Bathroom was very clean, bright and cute. Clam cakes and onion rings were perfectly crispy! We both had the hot, butter lobster rolls - so full lobster was falling out - we had left overs. Delish and fresh! We tried for over 20 minutes to get an Uber. When I asked a man if there was a taxi stand around he said no, told us he was the owner and took us all the way to PVR airport. Turns out this is a family run place and his son was our waiter. It is a really cute place with cool decor and a fun beachy vibe. But that's where it ends. I can deal with long waits while restaurants are still "recovering" from Covid, but we should have ran when the table next to us said they had been waiting 2 hours for food. Now, ours didn't take quite as long but when it finally did come, it was awful. Our fries weren't cooked, my steak was chewy and my sons lobster mac n cheese was cold. Then my husband finished his beer and found a large larvae bug at the bottom. The waitress (although very sweet) didn't even flinch or offer to remove anything from the bill.
