We were in 1st floor room; lots of road noise.

This is a tow star motel! Decor (if one can call it that) is minimal. Floor not carpeted. King size bed uncomfortable and made crunchy noises whenever we moved. Refrigerator had massive ice wall in back and did not really cool anything that wasn't directly touching that ice wall. Bathroom sink had only warm or hot water (?) Plumbing all exposed. Two story--very thin flooring--we could hear the upstairs tenants clomping around at night and early in the morning. Over two hundred dollars a night? No!

Spring break getaway weekend. The price was the best the room very clean simple lots of channels on the TV. Nice bed plenty of room to put your items your suitcase and your jacket and your purse. Microwave refrigerator coffee pot. Very nice room.

    Toenail...not ours.

Stayed just for one night. Way too pricey for what we got but it was peak season so I get it. But I'd never stay here again or recommend it. Hair everywhere in the room. Clumps, loose strands, etc. Toenail on the floor. White socks were brown after a night walking around on the floor. (did not want to take socks off all stay). If you put your feet on/in the bed, that floor is wiping off on your sheets. Given the state of the room, we were also fearful of potential bedbugs. I didn't sleep much since couldn't relax and slept with my hood up to avoid contact with bedding. We washed the hoodies and the kids stuffies when we got home. With the mold and hair in the shower, you could not pay me to use the shower as it was. Leave the floaters at home peeps: the filled-in swimming pool is the smoking area. One star because we could not relax and felt robbed between what we got and what we paid.

the stay was great. Everything was clean and the area was calm & quiet. Very convenient & close walk to the pier about 7 minutes . we were even offered a discount when I asked if I could stay an extra night!!

    Some local decor!

What a great motel!!! From the start Laura was so sweet and helpful at check in! Once we got to our room we are pleasantly surprised with the size, it was HUGE! With high vaulted ceilings, king size bed and plenty of space for our luggage!! Not only does it come with a full size mini fridge but a microwave and keurig coffee maker!!! Made for the perfect mornings! It's location is perfect, walking distance to the beach and shops but still in a quiet area!!! The rooms were so clean and the staff was just as nice as Laura!!! Would highly recommend staying here if in Pismo Beach!!

We stayed in a first-floor ocean view room since we had a service animal, and the room size was great. The grounds are well-kept, there's convenient beach access, and I loved that they have an adults-only hot tub--that was a nice touch. The person who checked us in was also very kind and welcoming, which set a great first impression. Unfortunately, things went downhill that night. Our upstairs neighbors were stomping loudly for hours. Around 8 PM, I called the front desk to let them know, and I was told they would reach out to the room--but nothing changed. By 10 PM, the noise was still going, so I called again. This time, instead of resolving the issue, I felt like we were being questioned. We were told the guests upstairs said they were already in bed, which didn't line up with what we were clearly hearing. The situation was frustrating enough that I tried to get their attention by tapping on the ceiling, which then got turned back on us as a complaint. When we asked about switching rooms, we were told the hotel was sold out and we'd have to wait until the next day--which I understand--but the way it was handled by the manager was disappointing. There was no apology, no empathy, and the tone came off dismissive and rude, which made the situation worse. I really wanted to love this place because the location and property are great, but customer service matters, especially when issues come up. Because of that experience, I'd think twice about staying here again.

I was initially undecided between a few different options, but ultimately decided to stay at Beachcomber Inn. I made a reservation from Friday to Sunday. I had already received an email confirming that check-in would be at 4:00 PM on Friday. However, around 9:00 AM that same morning, I received a phone call informing me that no one had stayed in the room the night before, and that we were welcome to check in at any time without waiting until 4:00 PM. As we all know, most hotels charge extra fees for early check-in or late check-out, so receiving such a generous offer without even asking was truly surprising and very much appreciated. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, we were only able to arrive around 6:00 PM. When we got there, I learned that the person who had called me was the owner, Johnny. We had the chance to meet him in person--he is incredibly friendly, talkative, and genuinely welcoming. He personally showed us around our room, which made the experience even more special. The location of the hotel is outstanding. It's just about a block and a half away from the busy center of Pismo Beach, yet it is remarkably quiet. We had a very peaceful night's sleep, and the room temperature was perfect. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided--there was a coffee machine with plenty of coffee pods, and the bathroom was fully stocked with essentials like shampoo and shower products. The room itself was spotless and in excellent condition. Additionally, the nearby beaches are only about a 10-minute drive away. We even went to the sand dunes and rode ATVs, which was an incredibly fun experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Pismo Beach. Check-out on Sunday was scheduled for 12:00 PM, but once again, Johnny reached out to let us know that no one was checking in after us. He kindly offered that we could check out anytime up until 6:00 PM if we wished. Just like the early check-in, this thoughtful gesture--offered without us even asking--was both surprising and deeply appreciated. He could have easily charged for this, but it was clear from the moment we met him that his priority is simply to provide excellent service and ensure his guests feel comfortable and happy during their stay. We would absolutely recommend staying at Beachcomber Inn when visiting Pismo Beach, and if you have the chance, meeting Johnny in person is truly a pleasure. From now on, we know that every time we visit Pismo Beach, we will choose to stay at this hotel without hesitation. Through this review, we would like to thank him once again and hope to see him again very soon.

The faux wood plank floors were clean and a nice upgrade from the carpeted rooms mentioned in other reviews. We did have an issue with an auto-light turning on throughout the night, which was frustrating. The hotel tried to fix it but wasn't able to during our stay. The rooftop bar is a fantastic place for happy hour and sunset views. We ordered the sprouts, chicken nuggets, and garlic fries, and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. They also offer a small but solid selection of local beers and wines that pair well with the food. The bar staff was friendly and helpful. I wish I could say the same about the rooftop hostess, who was a bit rude to us. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, definitely check out the rooftop bar.

Because of the construction the checkin desk is just inside the door adjacent to the tiny elevator. I was standing at the check-in desk and it is so close to the automatic doors that they just stayed open and it was cold outside. The luggage carts need to be updated. This sound trivial but they are so small, old/worn and don't have hook at the top to hang anything which would have helped given how small they are. Once we checked in I asked about a luggage cart as there were none to be found and the check-in clerk was kind enough to radio the cleaning staff to see if anyone left a cart in a hallway or in their room when they checked-out (I was told it happens). Shortly thereafter a member of staff came running by me in the lobby and took the elevator upstairs. Little did I know it was to get me a luggage cart that was found my cleaning staff. I was grateful for the effort and made my way to the room. I paid for a Deluxe Pier & Ocean View. I would suggest you get an Ocean View and skip the Pier View. Our room was the farthest most away from the ocean front of the hotel and so I had a good view of the neighboring hotel and could hear the children playing in the pool...not very relaxing and was louder than the ocean waves. The other complaint was that on the 2nd floor, where my room was located, my door was immediately next to the breezeway or walkway that is completely open to the breakfast area below so each morning I heard people in the breakfast area. I saw a door that could be shut to separte the walkway from the guestrooms but it was open for my entire visit. The elevators are extremely small and only 1 luggage cart and 2 people would fit. It is very old, slow and needs to be replaced. While I didn't use it the pool is heated and kept very clean. They offer electric bikes for rent with the first hour free. For the cost of this hotel I would have expected updated rooms or a lower price. I am looking forward to when the construction is complete as I would like to check out the new rooms.

Great location, wonderful breakfast selection, spacious rooms, very quiet wall mounted aircon/heater. Clean rooms. Most of the rooms either face the cliff and ocean or are at an angle so you can see the ocean from your window and balcony. Great location for cliff walk and stairs down to the beach. Only one area for improvement, add timers for the gas firepits, as they use tanked propane and when we came to the 3 fire pits at night to use them, folks just left them on high and walked off.. so all fire pits were empty. Front desk said they would send maintenance to refill them, but at that point we just went back to the room. Short walk to some great restaurants.

It was loaded with seating and fire pits and sun umbrellas and was a great place to sit and chill with a drink and good friends. The price was extreme, but I chalked that up to car show gouging. The hotel restaurant was okay. Nothing special and featured mostly Hispanic styled dishes. In the evenings they sell Smores kits so you can make them while you sit by the fire pits.
