Ocean Poke is SO close to being the best poke in the area. I've been obsessed with poke the last couple of months and every time the BF asks what I want when we are going to go out.. poke is the answer. We've been hitting up all the poke spots around town, and finally made our way to Ocean Poke last night. Good location (off Murrieta Hot Springs) and its super cute & clean inside. That's always important especially with poke I think.. The girls working were awesome and let us try like 6 of their different sauces with it being our first time there. I got a bowl with white rice, and this is the major problem for me here. (& the reason they lost a star) To me, Poke should be made with COLD rice. They use warm rice. I can 100% say, if they used cold rice this would be the best poke in the Temecula/Murrieta/Wildomar area. Everything else was amazing. Fish tasted fresh, the house sauce (+ a little sriracha) was delish and all the toppings were fresh for a fair price! I will be back. I just wish they used cold rice. We've tried just about every restaurant that offers poke or poke spot in Temecula/Murrieta. Ocean is definitely in my top two. Tons of toppings, sauce and crunchy options - the most I've seen thus far. Was happy to see spicy crab, thinly sliced cucumbers and smaller cut watermelon radish as toppings and no extra charge for your first scoop of avocado. Looking forward to trying some of their hot options. Love the island vibe of this place from the music to Hawaiian chips and Hawaiian Sun drinks available for purchase. I went to this poke place a few weeks back, and it has me craving it till this day. I love the poke here. I would suggest anyone to get the spicy tuna and spicy salmon to get the full moneys worth of the meal. Also the spicy tuna/salmon wasnt to spicy, it just had a good kick to it. The topping are so fresh and you can get avocado or mango with no additional cost! Another plus was that crab meat was on the topping menu. I've been to this place several times now so my review is based in that. The food overall is good and well since you can customize it, the flavor depends on your choices. Like other reviews stated, their house sauce has Wasabi. I personally don't really care for Wasabi so I opt for their Poke Sauce. I've found I like a salad base with the poke sauce and eel sauce on the salad and spicy mayo on the fish. Like other reviews stated, this place has probably one of the best varieties of fish/seafood options. So overall again, the flavor of the food is actually really good if you have your choices already figured out. Where I do knock this place down is on the portions of certain items like avocado and the crab mix. The scoops are small and anything more than that is an extra charge. Combine that with the price of the bowl which seems to go up the last couple of visits, and you get about $17 for a large salad bowl with no drink. With drink you'll end up at $20. In comparison to other places this is high. I would still recommend this place but if you have a closer location or another spot along your travels I'd give them a try first. This place isn't my first choice but its my choice for that area specifically. Temecula, Riverside, Corona, have similar restaurants with same quality. read more

Good food and nice menu but man they are sloooowwww! I've been here when it's pretty busy or not busy at all and no matter what they always seem to be understaffed. There's only about 2-3 people at a time making the plates and they are moving like they don't care and like there aren't customers watching them and waiting. This place has bomb poke, and I've never been disappointed in the quality. Usually the customer service is pretty good here as well. However, today I placed an order online and it said my order would be ready by 2:06 at the latest. It gave me a 10 minute window, which seems reasonable. I came at 2:15 and the girl just said to give her a second. 13 minutes go by so I decide to ask if they have an ETA on my order and a kind guy said he would check and another girl that was working decided to chime in and have an attitude with me, telling me I placed my order for the incorrect time and it was going to be another 30 minutes. I was willing to wait for my order I just wanted to know what to expect. I get it. Places get busy. Crap happens. But she continued to try to argue with me and I told her to double check after showing her my phone said my order was ready by 2:06 and she immediately got annoyed telling me that they've just been really busy. I even told her I'm not trying to start drama I just wanted an eta because I'm not trying to spend my whole day here, or even another 30 minutes. I could've ordered at the counter when I got there and it would've been faster. I just left with my food and it's honestly such a bummer that a place with such a good product can have such poor customer service. They even have yellowtail for the protein , plus they don't charge for avocados & crabmeat ! Avocado is charged in the most of poke place in LA area. Fish is so fresh . By far the BEST Poke place we've ever had! We've eaten here three times in the last 2 weeks and we can't get enough. The portions are great, the fish is fresh, and the topping choices are awesome. One of the best things about Ocean Poke is the customer service which is top notch... the owner or manager (not sure) is wonderful and so are the employees. Since my initial post, I have been back to this place at least 8 times. Spread throughout that time, my wife and I have tried out some closer Poké places. We are just about done trying anything else. The extra 15 minute drive is worth it. The portions and selection are fantastic. I really like the crawfish as I haven't seen that offered anywhere else. The sauces are bold, noticeable, and distinguishable. The employees are quick to remember my wife and I...which is fun and appreciated.
