The nail tech that I got did just an OK job. Some more nail polish probably would've smoothed out the bumpiness. She couldn't speak a word of English, or if she did, she wouldn't speak it. The woman who did my toes and nails did not speak English, kept leaving and looking at her phone, so it took over two hours. She scratched my foot with what looked like a cheese grater they use for callus removal - i couldn't wear closed shoes for a few days after. Cuticle cut either too deep it hurt or not sufficient, and nail polish was all over my nails. I will not go back. read more

I was very happy with the pedicure I received and will continue to go there for services. Unfortunately I wasn't aware that they accepted credit cards for services however the tip need to be paid in cash. I paid by credit card and used the bank machine in the salon to withdraw money for the tip. The next morning I received notifications from my bank that my debit card showed suspicious activity indicating my card was used in several locations that same day. I used the debit card at this location only. It was the first time I had used this debit card and obviously will be the last. when I visited their website its indicates "unsecured". So my advice is to pay cash only at this establishment. read more

I have been going to this business for several years and have seen the history so I know 1st hand the past several months, due to covid and the original owners where in fact away, and we're doing the best they could to operate from a far. NOW there are new owners who have bought the salon and are doing a revamp that is even BETTER than before. I continue to love this place. I recently started getting gel manicures and I am so impressed with the quality of their work. A few of my nails chipped within a few days so I popped back in to see if they'd clean them up. They didn't hesitate to fix them. I do find with the gel manicures, however, that most of the time is spent on prepping the nails and applying polish. The scrub and hand massage is a small part of the service- would love to see them prolong that part of the service. But I can't complain- they rub my back and neck while waiting for the old polish to soak off. read more

I came in on Friday for a gel polish (French). They were nice, courteous, and professional. BUT, the gel started bubbling and peeling by Monday. Nearly all of my nails. By Tuesday, it was a mess, so I just peeled the rest of it off. It came off a little too easily. I don't think they adequately prepped my nails. I hadn't been for a manicure since January, so there wasn't any residual stuff on them. I was so disappointed. I'm dealing with way too much right now and don't have the time to go back and have them correct it. :( read more

OPEN on Monday. I am visiting the area and did use a highly recommended salon in Clinton last year, but they weren't open, and I am glad. They cost twice as much & were very impersonal. Ocean Star treated me like a queen, the short pedicure - I don't want to spend 2 hours getting a pedicure - removed calluses, & included a shoulder massage with heated rock while your polish is drying. I also had a face wax. Manicure with one sns nail repair, lip, chin & neck wax & pedicure with shoulder massage all for less than $70 & treated like a queen during the process. The first time I went here I would have given it 5 stars. The woman who did my gel manicure was amazing. She did each step one nail at a time and then went straight under the UV light. These lasted over 2 weeks. However, the last couple times the gentleman who did my nails did them all at once and then under the UV. Within 2 days they were chipping. I went back and 2 nails were completely redone and another coat added on to the other nails. It was done the same way as the last time he did it and once again within 2 days they were chipping again, to the point that it broke my nails. read more

I've been here several times now over the past nine months, and I've been extremely satisfied every time. It's very peaceful and relaxing and the customer service is excellent. I've never had to wait, and I have had several different nail technicians and they're all great. They don't do acrylics here, and I personally like that because there are no harsh chemical smells or the dust in the air. The basic $13 manicure includes regular nail services but also a hand/arm scrub, a paraffin wax dip, a hot stone massage, and a warm lotion arm/hand massage. Really disappointed in my recent spa pedicure with Callous removal. My callouses were rough and I needed to redo the bottom of my feet when I got home. I loved this place! Always did a great job but I'm not sure if I will go back. I feel like I just threw away $45 plus tip. read more

I was so impressed with how clean it was and how friendly they were. They use new tools on every customer and they have bags for the pedi stations. I went in for a Mani pedi on a Saturday afternoon and they told me that it would be about 10 to 15 minutes before I was able to be seen. I was a little worried that it would be a rushed job but they took the time and did an amazing job on my nails. I had a raspberry pedicure with that you get either a 10minute chair massage or an eyebrow wax. The only thing is they didn't ask me what I wanted and assumed I wanted a chair massage So when I was getting my mani one of the other girls started giving me the massage I thought that this was included because the person sitting next to me also had one. I ended up going to cozy nails on Main Street to get my eyebrows done because of this and spending more money. However, the girl doing my nails gave me coupon to use the next time. Ocean star has been one of the only salons that I've been to multiple times and they continue to impress me. The customer service is great, they are very kind and explain their services and pricing. And let's not forget the quality you get. I work in housekeeping. My hands are always getting beat up and I'm always afraid of a chip or a break. But I've never had one.
