UPDATE: later this day after i wrote my review, my nail literally broke off. mind you i got them done on monday and it broke off tuesday. i was extremely disappointed as these nails were for my first day of school, and i'm unable to go back to the salon since i was visiting family and live in nyc. my nails are cute but they were quite expensive. there is a website with the same name and logo as them, which comes up when you search them up on google. when i showed it to them they claimed it wasn't theirs and the prices were more expensive. these nails were $80, they did a good job but i wouldn't pay that much again. my sister got a normal gel manicure, and the paint job was horrible. it was rushed and her nails are very obviously streaky and bumpy-which is weird for a gel manicure. that's all, they did good with the gel x/ acrylics but it is expensive. read more

I went to cozy nail & spa today and my jaw is on the floor with how good my nails came out. I came in requesting that every nail was different and got some confused looks at first but then my amazing male nail tech said it was no problem and got the job done. I would only give them 0 stars if I could. They are extremely unprofessional and not clean. They didn't use cleaned utensils and put the utensils on a tray. I have went to several places to get manicures and this would be rated the lowest. I didn't get the massage or lotion for my hands with my manicure. When I brought this to the managers attention she said I think he forgot and wouldn't refund or decrease the service. The nail job was horrible. Look at the picture a tray with holes touching the table, and when asked if this was the normal procedure she said we pride ourselves on being clean but i think he used new supplies. Awful awful. I went to look at others who came in and some had new utensils on top of the plastic it came in. I would never go back. Beware locals and out of towners. read more

I love getting my eyebrows done here and the pedicures are probably some of the best by far. You can walk in or call ahead and make an appointment. They have so many colors to choose from as well. Last week my parents were at the amazing froyo shop Sweet Lunas and they didn't take American Express credit cards & that's all they had on them so the cashier told them to go use the ATM in the nail salon right next door. Once they got in and went to the ATM & were already halfway done, they got SCREAMED at by multiple employees for using it and not being a "paying customer". I can understand that but the way they handled it and treated them as less than human is what upset me. They told them to leave even though their money was just about to spit out of the machine so they let them wait for their money but not to ever come back. It's an ATM... that the business next store recommended them to use. Now they're banned because of not knowing this rule before entering? There are so many more polite ways they could have handed this! read more

This place is just ok. My pedicure was good and standard. Nothing wowed me but my toes look good. I wouldn't go back for a gel manicure. They don't have a great color selection. My technician touched and smudged my nail and told me it was okay. The application of the polish was not smooth. The nails needed more time under the LED lighting but it was a pretty rushed job so my nails weren't fully dry and several smudged almost immediately. Gel should not do that. My rating is based on 4 stars for the pedicure and 2 stars for the gel mani. read more

I've gone here for years but I decided to stop coming here due to an unpleasant experience. On December 29, 2017, I went to get a manicure and pedicure with my cousin. I was disappointed and angered by my experience. Everyone was super rude, my manicurist cut me and I didn't hear her apologize. Then the same person waxed my eyebrows and did them way too much. I went in for a fill with gel polish. The tech who did my nails used powder, but in 3 years of having my nails done, I've never had anyone dip my nail into the powder. New? Odd. When finished, the nails looked nice. The $50 charge was a big surprise. Not sure why it was so high; never paid that much before. Jumped on the train. 2 hours later, I noticed that the shellac (I'd asked for gel) polish was peeling off 2 nails! I'd only been sitting and reading. Couldn't believe how easily it continued to peel. I feel very frustrated and ripped off. Also thought it odd that the ladies doing pedicures had timers. Noticed one lady switch from one foot to another after 2 1/2 minutes. 5 minutes total? I went there one night after work and I have no need to come back. First, it took everyone 15 minutes to figure out what I meant when I asked for a SNS Powder Dip manicure. When they finally figured it out, they handed me the color palate and there wasn't a lot of choices....so I resorted to having a gel manicure. Then, the technician (male) who did my nails was very rough when handling my hands. Even after multiple times of me explaining that my fingers are sensitive. He had nails on the longer side that dug into my hands. He rushed and as a result, he did a bad job on my nails and they chipped about 4 days afterwards. This was a gel manicure....this should have lasted 2 weeks. Stay away from this place. read more

Pretty much the only nail game in the area. I tried another new place that opened nearby and couldn't wait until I could return to cozy. My gel manicures last 2-3 weeks always and same with pedicures. If you want to get waxed go when Mimi is there because she's the best. As some other people mentioned, it can get really busy especially on the weekends. If you know you're going, call and make an appointment in the morning so you have a shorter wait time. read more

This is a very rude nail salon, I have never had such a bad experience. I did not have an appointment and they were rude to me and several other people that did not. I waited a little which was fine and then my pedicure was very rushed, they should have just told me they were booked. I would have been more than happy to tip 20% but they don't allow you to tip on credit cards. I did have a couple dollars which I threw into a tip jar they had because at least I felt like I would be helping the staff even if I couldn't leave as much as I wanted. As I was about to leave, a woman up front stopped me; I thought she was asking if I had paid the bill but she was demanding to know if I had tipped. I told her I could not tip on my card but I threw some cash into the tip jar and she went on to berate me in front of a full house of customers and ask me how much I left. She was trying to get me to put a separate tip charge on my card which I wouldn't do it was extremely awkward and embarrassing especially when I would've been more than happy to leave a tip on my card like any normal business. It was the strangest and most embarrassing experience that I have ever had from someone in a nail salon, or any service industry! I would never go back after my treatment there. read more

Usually this is my go to place in Old Saybrook when I want to get a mani / pedi, however, I will not be going back after yesterday's experience. I was home for the weekend and decided to take my sister to geta mani/pedi with me. Not only are the prices the most expensive in town, but the service is the worst. I sat in pedicure chair and waited about 5 minutes while I watched half of the team stand outside and smoke. When someone finally came over to do my nails, I had to tell her exactly what to do (i.e. how to cut my toenails, how to cut the cuticals, that she was getting polish all over my toe.) When I go to get a manicure, I want to relax. When it was time to get my manicure, I specifically told her that I wanted my cuticals cut short and the sides of my nail touched up as I hadn't gotten a manicure in a while and they were dry. She shook her head yes and started on my nails. When it was time to do my cuticals, she completely ignored my request and complained to me when I told her that I wanted my cuticals redone. At that point, I also looked down at my toes and saw that you could see my toenail through the dark nail polish because she didn't put enough on. I asked if she could touch it up and she said it would be an additional $10 as it would be considered a polish change. When it was time to pay, I only had my credit card (but I did have cash for the tip). They tried to convince me to use the ATM machine and take out money. That way, I wouldn't have to pay the CT sales tax because they wouldn't have to record anything in the book. I find it absolutely ridiculous, and a little bit illegal, that if you have cash you don't pay the sales tax. Finally, they have a rewards card -- on every table it says "for EVERY service you purchase you will receive 5% back on your card". I paid for two mani/pedis -- $80 -- but was only rewarded for one. There are more nail salons in Old Saybrook than gas stations, and next time I need my nails done I will go to someone that treats their customers better and all the same, listens to their requests, and understands the meaning of good customer service. read more

So I went here for a gel manicure and pedicure. They completely rushed to do it. I had 3 different people working on me ALL while I was getting my pedicure. Full gel manicure while sitting in the pedicure chair. I also got the callus treatment. Well I left there with a backache and just felt very rushed. So when I paid I told the lady and she didn't even say a word to me. Since then both of my heels have deep cracks in them where it hurts to walk because of them. I just called and spoke to the manager and the only thing she kept telling me is there wasn't enough time for both and that's why they did it at the same time. I told her she should have told me that and I would have gone back a different day. All she kept telling me on the phone was to plan 1 1/2 hours for both next time. But they took a person 5 minutes before I left for a pedicure, so I don't think time was an issue.
