This review is based upon my experience. Why did I pick Ocean View Customs? They have a very convincing website. https://oceanviewcustoms.com/ On it, they claim to 'go the extra mile' and that they are a one stop shop for all vehicle customization. Promoting services such as detailing, tint, auto repair, stereo system upgrades. I don't think going the extra mile means getting a vehicle stolen by a homeless person that Jesse Dyer, the owner, hired. Apparently the homeless employee was told by a Fernando that he could use my vehicle which was in Jesse's possession for approximately 2 months. Why so long? THe one stop shop that was hired to tint, detail, install a muffler, air filter, carpet and upgrade the sound system kept running into issues and delays. Stay FAR FAR away from this place. OVC is NOT a place that you can trust to bring a vehicle to. They lack security and allow homeless employees that they don't pay to go for joyrides and sleep in customer's vehicles. The work is subpar as the carpet they installed had to be removed as it didn't fit. I retrieved my vehicle in pieces, the shop is incompetent and was unable to finish the work after 2 months and probably concocted this whole theft drama to absolve them of doing the work. Not to mention the approximate loss of $2000 worth of stereo equipment. Liability? The company and owner seem to lack assets to be able to recoup losses. The best I can do is warn you, the reader of this review, to avoid this place at all costs. Nothing positive comes from dealing with businesses like this. Don't ever take your vehicle here. Jessie is the FERRARI "AUDIO SYSTEM WHISPERER". Don't bother taking your exotic/supercar anywhere else. Jessie and his team are not only extremely knowledgeable and professional, they are very passionate about custom audio systems, AND know what they are doing! I took my Ferrari to Ocean View Customs, and left with booming bass and crystal clarity sound. The owner said to meet him at 9:30. Three customers waited for Jessie, who casually showed up at 9:45. I left my car for a wash and wax. At 2:30 I picked up the car. It looked worse than when I left it. The exterior rear window had dirt on it and the spoiler was separated from the car. Also there was some sort of gunk stuck on the side of my car. I questioned Jessie. He said not to worry, to bring the car back and he would personally address all issues. It would take 5 hours to wash, wax and repair the spoiler. I brought the car back at 9:30. I drove past the business several times and the car did not move until 430 that evening. During the course of the day, I called several times to check on the status of the car but no one answered the phone. At approximately 830 Jessie answered his phone and said the car was ready. I asked him to please bring the car inside and I would pick it up the next morning. I went there the next morning and the car looked like it was never touched. No wax, no wash and the spoiler still needed to be repaired. Jessie was very unprofessional. Save yourself time, money and aggravation. Go somewhere else. Also there are several negative reviews for him. Unfortunately people put it under the previous name. Look at Prestige tint and detail. They mention Jesse by name. read more

I made an appointment for 9:00 am on Friday to have my son's car detailed and have some light customization done. I asked for carbon fiber covering on the wood trims and black paint on the speaker covers. I was quoted $180.oo for the detail and $100.00 for the custom work. I was there at 8:45 and had to wait until well after 10:00. Three hours later I got a text saying that in order to paint the speakers on the back doors they would have to cut them out and glue them back on. I didn't want that, so I told him not to do them. That should've saved him a bunch of time, right?!... Well, At the end of the day, I went to pick it up and the door panels were still off and the center console piece was not done. The owner kept jumping back and forth between cars and at some point he took off on his escalade and came back later. When I went to pay, I left a $20.00 tip for they guy that detailed the car, and I got charged $50.oo more than what they had told me. When I asked why, I was told that it was for painting the two tiny speakers on the front doors (which now don't even sit in place right), even though he was very specific when he told me that the quote included the paint. Long story short, he told me to come back first thing Saturday morning, and the center console would be extra $$. Fine, at this point I don't have a choice since my son was coming home Sunday and I had to have his car ready. When I get the car from the detail, I had to go ahead and re-do it myself, since they did a half-assed job, and even had new dirt in places it didn't have before, and it still had peanuts and trash under the seats. Also, they ripped off the cloth material covering the speaker in the cargo area, as they were supposed to paint it, but left it uncovered, unpainted and with all that yellow glue exposed. They also buffed too hard on the hood and other areas and left big ugly swirl marks on the burned clear coat, which I had to pay someone else to repair. It had new scratches on the paint and even melted part of the rear bumper with the torch they used to make the black rubber piece again... now that whole area has some horrendous-looking bubbles and burn marks along the edge. When I went back first thing next morning as directed (9:00 am), there was no one there but the cashier. Two hours later I was still there waiting for this clown to show up. There was the tint guy waiting to get paid, calling on the phone, and the cashier Both the cashier and the tint guy who came wanting to know why he hadn't gotten paid were calling his phone for a long time but he never picked up the phone nor showed up. I finally gave up and my car surprise for my son was ruined. In summary, I ended up paying $388.oo plus what I paid to get it all fixed, and wasted two days of my life on a half assed job that I had to finish myself. It was a total nightmare and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! The only positive was the tint. The tint guy took care of my car promptly and professionally and did a terrific job! (But he's not an employee there; he runs his own mobile tint business and does work in their shop too, so his good performance is all him, no credit to this "business") Honestly, I don't understand how this place is even open. They offer a price for a job, then they change the price and the job and don't even finish, and what they do finish is gravely sub-standard. I regret ever going there. Save yourselves a headache and money and go somewhere else. OH, BTW! Those 5 star reviews that are somewhere around here are fake. They're from friends, not real customers. read more

I brought my vehicle in for an amp and subwoofer installation. The staff had a lot of trouble figuring out how to do the job. A lot of "troubleshooting". They said the issue was my stereo, which was working completely fine before I brought it to the shop. Throughout the process I was given several different quotes. Each time I went to pay, the bill was much more than what I was quoted. The end product did sound good, but I paid 3x the original quote and it took over a week.
