Let me start by saying I haven't taken the best care of my teeth in the past few years. After some traumatic experiences with an oral surgeon and a dentist, I was terrified of any dental work. I may have blissfully ignored my teeth forever, but I had a crown come off and needed to get it fixed, so I reluctantly went and found a dentist through my Healthcare provider. Thankfully, I ended up in a chair at Ocean View. From the moment I walked in the staff was personable and friendly. The office itself has esthetics to match - everything is bright and inviting. I was a new patient but you wouldn't have known that by the warm, personal greeting and conversation. They listened to my past horror stories and empathized fully, and I could tell they actually cared. They truly wanted to make this experience a better one. My initial cleaning was quick, painless, and thorough. I was back in 2 days to see them again for the crown - need to emphasize that I actually came back... quickly... to a dentist! Again, quick and painless! Dr. Wallace is incredibly smart, kind, and patient, as is the rest of his team. They walked me through every step, explained what they were doing as they were doing it, and over all just put this nervous wreck at ease! (Not an easy task!) I have a relatively long list of items I still need to do to get my teeth back to 100%, but I am supremely confident and trusting that Dr. Wallace and his team are the ones to help me get there. read more

I'm incredibly thankful to come here today! The staff were very attentive and accommodating, you can just tell everyone is happy to be there. good vibe! Very clean and cozy atmosphere. Dr. Wallace is absolutely amazing! Very personable and highly skilled. I opted for no anesthesia for a filling because of other health issues, and WOW. He had the lightest touch and was in and out before I knew it. Zero pain! Maybe I was distracted by how hilarious he is the whole time, who knows :) .. Only people who are passionate about their work are THIS good! I had the pleasure of having Dr.Katherine Ahn Wallace as my previous dentist a few years ago, and she was the best dentist I've ever had. When all these other dentist wanted to root canal my entire mouth she saved all my teeth, rebuilt them from the ground up like an artist sculpting a work of art. I felt like I was given a second chance at life as my situation was extremely dire, and I will always be grateful for that. Dr. Wallace is equally as amazing and empathetic as she was. I trust I'm in great hands now, I just intuitively knew right off the bat. I love that they don't do anything unnecessary if you don't need it. I've been coming to Ocean View for about a year and a half now. I've only had cleanings done until recently. Those experiences were pleasant as were the staff and dentist. I was told by the dentist I had some cavities between a few of my teeth. We scheduled two separate appointments to get them fixed since they were on opposing sides of my mouth. The number of cavities or specific teeth being worked on wasn't specified well enough and actually left me a tad confused as to which teeth got filled but that wasn't the issue in the end. After the first appointment, my tooth was extremely sensitive and sore when I ate and flossed, but during my second appointment was assured by the dentist that was normal. A month went by and BOTH areas that were worked on were sore and sensitive. I could barely chew on one side of my mouth. Unfortunately, since this doctor was 0/2, I opted to see another dentist about it. My current dentist redid the more painful side first only to find the filling was not properly bonded to my tooth and we are assuming that is also what occurred on the other side that was worked on. As pleasant as most of my experiences were, this dentist blew it when it when it counted the most. read more

This Dentist is overtly expensive. They tout "state of the art" dental technology to analayze and treat the patients' condition. However, the affiliated charges far exceed the annual dental insurance allotment for X-Rays and "cleanings" conducted twice a year. You absolutely will pay for your glimpse of the ocean from the Dental Examination room at Ocean View Dental. In a positive perspective; a patient can glean a great deal of information pertaining to alleviating the symptoms of "sleep apnea". The staff Dental Hygentists are extremely knowledgeable regarding this condition. The two primary Dentists treat this condition in a separate venue.. As patients, we are paying for the preventive maintenance and treatment of our dental hygiene at a reasonable cost. Please make absolutely certain that your medical professional is an " in-network" subscriber to your insurance carrier. Also make certain that any additional estimated consultations/ treatments proposed are conducted in advance and in a written format. Good luck ! read more

This dental office is amazing! As a person with severe dental phobia, I needed a place that felt calm and relaxing. The office definitely has that. Kathleen is incredible and gave me the best teeth cleaning of my life. She's also really kind and patient, even when I felt like I was going to freak out. Dr. Wallace has done my new bridge and there was zero pain or uncomfortableness. He's funny and quick too! The rest of the team working is just as awesome and super friendly. I am really upset with this office so I feel the need to update my review. Initially they gave me one price and said that my insurance would cover the rest. That was about five months ago. Today I received a bill that is almost double of what I originally paid and it says that I'm 60 days late. When I call the office they said that they made a mistake and since this is my first bill they are 60 days late and billing me. I find this incompetence to be very frustrating. I am a single father trying to pay a mortgage and I did not have to have the work done right away. If I had known the total cost I would not have gone through with it. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do at this time, I must pay the bill due to their mistake. I do not feel comfortable going back to this office if I cannot trust what they are saying. I would recommend to doing business elsewhere. read more

We back to Ocean View to have bridge re-cemented that they had previously cemented. Without an explanation of the fees completed work and charged us $266 for an action that literally took 5 minutes. I tried to ask the dentist a question about another concern that I had during the visit. But the dentist refused to answer and said I would have to make another appointment for that conversation. He said he was too busy. There wasn't another patient in the office or in the waiting room. When I called the next day to Express my feelings about the fees, they were completely indifferent. read more

I had a chip on the inside of my right upper front tooth, it had been fixed many times before and is usually a quick an easy fix. Oceanview Dental attempted to fix it in March only for it to chip again 4 months later. The repair done this time around was even worse. The tooth is significantly shorter than the one next to it and the bottom edge is waved, not straight. Additionally, while filing down the composite, the dentist nicked the my left upper front tooth, so now it looks like I have a chip on the inside corner of that tooth as well. Dr. Gleason did the repair. She worked on it for over an hour and towards the end was so rushed, once she finished she ran from my room to help another patient. It is no wonder she had me leave the office in such a terrible condition. Today I went to Shoreline Dental Studio to have them fix my botched teeth. The head dentist was shocked by the condition my teeth were left in. Do yourself a favor and don't get anything cosmetic done at this office. It will cost you more in the long run. read more
