The bathroom had everything needed for a good shower (hot water, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, towels) but the shower was constantly flooding to our ankles so we had to space out our showers to wait for it to fully drain before the next one. The AC kept the room cool but water leaked out occasionally so we turned it off when sleeping which was unfortunate because it got super hot at night in the rooms. The ladies at the front were nice for check in and check out. The best part about staying here though was the little private beach in the back and picturesque scenery. We knew nothing…read moreabout the area, and were hoping for the best, as I realize that even reading reviews, sometimes you don't always get what you're hoping for. First impression upon checking in with the front desk was positive. The attendant was very friendly, professional, and helpful. We were booked in Room 120 (Hibiscus), a double queen bed room, which was the first building (road side), going into the lot. Parking was free, and available on a first come, first serve basis. Unfortunately, another car deliberately blocked us in the first night of our stay. Once someone else moved their car, my husband was able to maneuver our vehicle out, but evidently, someone thought that the space we chose to park, belonged to them. The room was affordably priced; we booked through booking.com, and received a competitive rate. We visited just a few weeks prior to Memorial Day weekend (tourist season). Check in is at 3pm, but they allow you to arrive anytime after 1pm, to enjoy the docks and the free kayak rentals. We didn't arrive until around 4pm. First impression upon walking into the room was the fact that it smelled VERY clean! It didn't smell like they just plugged in some room deodorizers to mask the smell; it smelled like freshly laundered sheets (like bleach and Downy). The room was small, there was a small refrigerator, and possibly a microwave (I can't recall if a microwave was in the room, but I believe so. There was a very tiny bathroom off from the main room, with a small, one person shower (no bathtub). The lighting in the room wasn't the greatest; it came across a bit dark and cold, with little to no natural light (small windows obstructed by foliage). I wasn't crazy about the color of paint that they chose; I didn't think that it created a calming ambience. There's no carpeting, which is fine, but the floor is very cold, so I would suggest bringing house slippers or flip flops, if you don't want that on your feet. There were some gnats in the room, but I noticed that was an issue within many public spaces near the water. Outside of that, we saw no sign of any other bug life. The beds were very comfortable, and I got a great nights sleep. The room had obviously been updated with the bathroom having a modern sink/knobs/vanity, and the shower was nice and hot. No issues with the plumbing. They provided complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. There wasn't a blow dryer in the room, but you can borrow one from the office. There is no complimentary breakfast; not even just muffins, but there are several restaurants within walking distance. We chose to dine at Doc's Diner, which wasn't on their recommendations, but we found it to be exceptional. Be prepared for the free roaming chickens all over Key Largo to wake you super early. There were two roosters just outside of our window crowing at just after 6am. As for the grounds, walking down to the pier, the sunrises and sunsets are stunning, and the grounds have been kept up well, and we enjoyed them immensely. There was no loud parties or ruckus after hours, we didn't feel unsafe. There is no pool, but there is beach swimming available. There are plenty of picnic tables, chairs, and loungers. All in all, if you're looking for luxury, this isn't your place. This is budget friendly, clean, and a nice stay if you're not planning on spending a lot of time in your room. I would stay again, but I wouldn't choose the Hibiscus room, simply because it's facing the road, and you can hear traffic all night long. I would choose a room either closer to the docks, or even better, overlooking the water.

Turns out the hotel is under renovation and they texted us to check into some motel a few blocks away which is under a different name, which rents for several hundred dollars less per night. They try to bait and switch customers into booking into a dumpy motel. I was able to get a refund from hotel tonight because they are booking under a fake listing only to be redirected to a motel with no amenities. Such a disappointment and scam. When i asked the manger to rebook me for the motel with the rate advertised online she ghosted me. They are just looking for last minute bookings to people who arrive late and don't have time to find another place. Buyers remorse!

The bayside is OK, nothing special compared to the Oceanside, which is much, much better. Our place here had a broken shower door, so they put a shower curtain instead of fixing it. It could've used a little more cleaning before we checked in, especially on the walls. The pool area wasn't skimmed daily, and the grill area was a mess which isn't fully on the staff because people that use it should clean or attempt to clean after themselves. It was easy to text the desk for anything you needed, such as towels, TP, soap or a ride on the golf cart. The front desk staff was very good. Plenty of utensils, plates and pots/pans to cook if you decide to. The place needs to go back to how it used to be with all the colors. We were expecting a little more for the price we paid. We won't stay at the bayside location but will stay 100% on the Oceanside in the future. Also, if you come down during August, bring the bug spray because the mosquitos were relentless on the hotel grounds. Free laundry was a plus!

I accessed their website's chat option, confirmed it was ADA accessible to satisfy my concern. Even screen shot the chat to document discussion. Elevator was there and worked well Two baths advertised was actually one and a half. Grab bars adequate for 1/2 bath toilet, inadequate for upstairs toilet. Upstairs only had one grab bar directly behind toilet not useable. The only bath was a tub/shower. Only grab bar was on wall behind tub, no way safe for ingress nor egress. Contacted office, they were understanding. Said they would check on availability at Bayside and sister property Islander and get back to me. They quickly accommodated us. Offering (what we found was a true ADA compliant room) but they only had one. With the agreement to charge only what we agreed upon for the initial "ADA" room. The other couple took that room for bathroom use and sleep and we stayed in two bedroom villa. Shuttling them back and forth for activities. While we appreciate the speed and willingness to accommodate us, the false impression that it was ADA compliant needs to be clearly removed from advertisement on the website or the villa needs to be upgraded to meet that standard. True purpose of this yelp is to provide warning to customers to fully investigate what ADA accommodations are actually made by any hotel before you book their ADA room. In this case, both training of staff and/or upgrades need to be made. We got assurances from staff and manager that situation would be brought to higher management to resolve conditions.
