Had a most wonderful dinner, with delicious food and delightful ambience even with, or perhaps because of, the current protocols. They've done a really nice job of creating a beautiful outdoor space, with well-distanced tables, masked staff, etc. We enjoyed the crabcakes, Atlantic char and salmon -- all done perfectly. The only problem was the dessert -- tiramisu and baklava. So much, and so delicious we could not stop eating very generous portions. Such a problem! I thoroughly enjoyed a pan-seared grouper entree (a special; not on the printed menu) with the most delicious lemon potatoes and perfect steamed asparagus; neither of these sides was the ones the waiter offered with the special, but that's what I requested and they accommodated. Our waiter was Ali, who provided perfect service. For dessert, we shared two desserts. I loved the apple truffle and would order it again. It is homemade apple pie filling inside a phyllo dough crust served with vanilla ice cream. The baklava dessert I did not care for; it is very sweet but mostly chunky nuts and heavy on the cloves. Went to lunch there with a men's group today. The food was delicious, as was the ambiance. The service was impeccable. They have a bar and valet parking. My only complaint was that they have not updated their listing on YELP in a long time. I say this because my wife wanted one of three entrees. Her first choice was day boat scallops, which on their YELP entry, it listed the price at $24.00. However, the price on the menu is $34.00. She had seen the lemon sole franchise was listed on YELP as $17.00, but is $29.00 on the lunch menu. Her last choice was their ahi tuna, $22.00 on YELP, but $32.00 on the menu. Their website shows no prices, so we thought the prices on YELP were current. It surely would help if the restaurant updated their prices on the internet. I'm not a fish eater, so I ordered a sliced rib eye steak sandwich that YELP said was $17.00, but it was $29.00 on the menu. My husband and I went to celebrate my 30th birthday and we were looking forward to going to Oceanos but this was the worst part of the night. Once we arrived at the restaurant everything fell short of expectations. We ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail which was so tough and tasted like chemicals then when we received my lobster tails they were overcooked, fishy, and were difficult to even cut with a steak knife, (we told the waitress who was amazing about the lobster and they did take it off the bill and offered to give me another meal but honestly we could not wait to leave and did not want anything else as nothing was good that we had so far) my husband ordered the Chilean sea bass which was not good at all. Oceanos is wonderful! Great staff, the food is excellent. It's just too pricey. Great for an annual event like a birthday but not a regular night out. Is the food great? Yes. But it's not $50/plate great. And certainly not $100 for crab legs or lobster tails. The tables are also way too crowded together. Overall, definitely go if you want an extremely fancy date night or a fun birthday gathering, but it's not your weekly Saturday night. read more

Wow!! My husband and I were blown away by Oceanos. The staff from the door, to the waiters and bus servers were so friendly and helpful. We went for lunch and didn't realize it was pretty upscale (we were in hoodies on a Friday afternoon), we were treated so well regardless. We ordered the raw bar Oceanos sampler, pricey but WOW!! They were the best oysters and clams we ever had, and we consider ourselves legit critics!! We order them everywhere they are offered, we love seafood rawbars. For our main lunch course we had the seafood linguini and the swordfish skewers with risotto. Oh my.... so delicious. The seafood linguini was packed with scallops, mussels, calamari and shrimp in a nice light flavored red sauce, not heavy or overwhelming. My swordfish was grilled perfectly and the risotto was so creamy and just yum. We loved everything. The bread and olive oil were also phenomenal. Great craft beer choices (NOT a lot, but unusual) and superior wine choices. We can't wait to go back for a dinner!! read more

This would be a two star review except for the fact that Oceanos gave us a tasty complimentary dessert for our anniversary. We were there for lunch and neither of us were satisfied with our main courses. I had shrimp and scallop kebabs which for $28 came with two shrimp and two scallops. The scallops were good but the shrimp were tough and tasteless. The vegetables on the kebab did not have much flavor, particularly the green peppers of which there were far too many. The risotto accompanying the kebabs was decent, but not in any way outstanding, so it didn't really make up for the poor quality of the kebabs. My wife's filet of sole was barely mediocre. The appetizer was good overall, but very expensive and not consistent in its quality. (Four strips of baked cheese, two of which were very tasty and two of which had tough exteriors that made for much less enjoyable eating.) The service was good. The overall tab, including tax, 20% tip and two glasses of wine came to a little over $142. Not nearly worth the price. read more

We were brought here to celebrate our engagement, and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. The setting is high-end, yet incredibly comfortable and downtempo. We began with drinks at the bar, and Shannon was amazing and attentive. She even went out of her way to make me a Honey Bourbon, which is my favorite cocktail that many bartenders opt not to make for me. The service was incredible. Their home made bread was a mix of sourdough and pumpernickel, and it was perfectly done. The shrimp appetizer was excellent, as was my entree of blackened snapper with truffle risotto. The entree was out of this world. Our waiter checked in often, made recommendations, and was attentive and kind. I can't wrap my head around the folks complaining about the prices. Good of this caliber commands higher pricing and I am happy to pay it for this great food. If you are looking for a high-end meal with great service, check this place out. We will be back. read more

Visited last night with friends. I've been here prior; last time was over a year ago right before the lockdown; however last night was off the charts. Literally everything we ordered we loved. From the drinks (I had the old fashioned) to the appetizers (zucchini chips & fried calamari) to the meals (see pics) and the desserts (tartufo and cheesecake). Service was on point, valet was quick. Definitely pricey but unlike some other $$$ places in the area, I noticed the portions are somewhat larger. I ate my leftovers today and it was just as delicious. Wow. Where do I start with Oceanos? This place is awesome. I had no idea what to expect first coming here. I had seen the billboard ads. I'd read the reviews. But this place met my expectations and then some. Oceanos is actually a relatively upscale place. You don't need to come in with a suit and tie, but you definitely don't want to walk in with a ripped up shirt and jeans either. The decor, the music, the employees, and the atmosphere. It's all excellent. And the food. Wow. I'm not the biggest seafood eater around, but that might be because I never had seafood as fresh as this. Any other place you get fish and chips, it tastes like something you'd get at McDonald's. But here, the fried fish fillets taste as fresh as any fish you'd get anywhere. I don't even really like tartar sauce, but again, that might be because I never had tartar sauce like this. Definitely will be coming back. An overall incredible dining experience. read more

Total disappointment. Unless you want to buy the owners a villa in the Mediterranean DO NOT patronize this restaurant. The lighting ambiance is much too low and the serving staff is constantly hovering over your table making you feel uncomfortable. The food is well prepared but lacks a reasonable amount of vegetables on the plate with the main entree. Half of a red potato with a few green beans made us feel "Robbed" and a total lack of respect by the restaurant owners. The price is absolutely much too high for everything. Expect to pay way over $250 plus tip for two people for a 3 course dinner with just two drinks. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you have money to burn. You are better off dining elsewhere at a much better and reasonable price. This restaurant is a total rip off and not worth the exorbitant prices they ask. read more

The staff and waiter were extremely friendly and helpful making decisions. We started with some red wine which was ok (merlot). The bread and dipping olive oil and olives were really good. We started with the grilled calamari app. I really enjoyed this a lot. It had a nice smokey flavor mixed with a nice vinaigrate sauce. I had the chilean sea bass which was very nice and buttery. My friend got the exotic salmon special. This fish was only available for one more week so we decided to try it but it was a bit fishy and dry for our likings. We also tried the ekmek dessert but thought it was ok. Not bad/ not great. This place is good, but for the price i think i expect a bit better. read more

They did a very nice job creating an inviting outdoor setting. Huge tent with plants, lights and chandeliers. The service was very friendly and attentive Bren though it was 99 degrees and not a very breezy night. It was hot out but they still managed to delivery great friendly service. We decide to share a few appetizers. Wow, the portions were huge so we could not finish our meal. We started with the dipping sauces all were very tasty and the zucchini chips. That was also delicious just too much fir two people. We used the zucchini chips to finish off the fios and still had chips to bring home. Next we had the tins tartar, that was ok. We also had the lump crab seafood salad yum! Huge pieces of crab with two sauces. Would definitely get that ok. And lastly we had ordered a Greek salad to split but had to ask them to is i it up even be cute serving it as it was too much food. The sangria was delicious. Went here for such an excellent dinner with my family when I was home. Decided to sit outdoors and was so impressed with the outdoor set up - lots of flowered light fixtures, fans everywhere. It was super comfortable and spacious. Our server was super nice and attentive and took our order fairly prompted after we were seated. We likely ordered a bit too much but for 4 people we decided to order the dips with pita, zucchini chips and beet salad for appetizers, as well as some wine and one Manhattan. Everything came out fairly quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed all of it! The dips were everyone's favorite - so many fun flavors, and the zucchini chips were one of the biggest appetizers I've ever had. The salad was a nice offset from some of the bread and fried food we were eating. For mains - my mom and sister both got the stuffed shrimp, my dad got the tuna and I got the scallops. Again food came out quickly enough, and it was just delicious. I think my dish was the family favorite, but everything was really tasty. The scallops were perfectly cooked and just had some simple flavoring that really helped to drive that home. It was my dad's birthday so they brought us out a little dessert, which I thought was super sweet as well. Was expecting much more given the reputation of this place. What really ruined the afternoon was the very long time it took to get served. We were a large party but none of the orders were complicated. Everyone ordered a single entree. It took 2 1/2 hours to get served, eat and get and pay the check. We saw other parties, including large parties, get seated after us and leave well before us. Hard to enjoy a meal under these circumstances. People ordered seafood, salads and paninis. Food was ok as were the portions. Prices were very high for a town like Fair Lawn. Plenty of nice outside seating if you prefer that. Valet parking was quick. read more
