The decor reflects the OV vibe with pictures of the Amusement park that was once a area landmark. I really enjoyed the skillet with sausage, potatoes, onions, peppers. I ordered pancakes which covered the plate. The diner appears to be very clean which is important when I'm eating out. The owner is also the chef and definitely runs a tight ship. read more

We are OV locals down the street. Some employees are from this place when they were Shipwreck Sally's. We were promptly seated and received our drinks quickly as well. Menu is simple and fair, and the environment is open, clean, and not cluttered. They use modern technology that allows them to put in orders on a tablet as you order, do that the kitchen receives the right information. You are also able to use your credit/debit card to pay and tip on the tablet itself. As for the food, it arrived in a fair amount of time and was delicious. We loved this quaint little diner! We assumed our server was the owner by her demeanor. She was just delightful. And although I didn't care for the bacon nor the pancake, my eggs were the freshest I've ever had and their corned beef hash was outstanding! That's why I still give five stars! Great little beach diner with a very family feel! The type that has been there forever and the locals love. My son and I were happy to find this little diner for breakfast and it was fantastic! We both opted for the corned beef hash with eggs breakfast and both of us got fruit as our side- the only difference was toast- mine marbled rye and his white. Oh- and our egg style varies too. Let me just say that the corned beef hash is true made from scratch and absolutely delicious! The savory goodness of the meat with the diced potatoes- hmmmm hmmmmm! Eggs for both of us were cooked perfectly too! Fruit bowl added a little refreshing taste after all the protein we ate. Our server- a young man with a fine beard was chipper and quick! It's possible I arrived here on a bad day, but I truly wish that I had experienced better. When we arrived, we had to wait at least ten minutes just for beverages. The floor was busy, but when you don't have many tables in general, something's up. When we did get our drinks, the cup that contained my Coke had some strange soap residue in it; like pieces of wet bread. Ew. It took another ten or fifteen minutes for us to order food, which did not come out timely either. It all came out sporadically, instead of all at once (like a normal meal should.) We did not even receive all of our food -- they forgot both of our bacons. The sausage was incredibly tough, and the pancake tasted like it had been made from recycled birthday cake. I'm sorry if we had come in on a bad day, but we truly expected better. read more

I came in with a party of 10 and even though this diner is pretty small, they were able to get us seated in about 20 minutes. We did not have to wait long for the food; everything came out pretty quickly, correct and still hot. I ordered the crab cake Benedict w/ scrambled eggs and it was some of the freshest crab cakes I've tasted in my life. I tried some of my fiancé's pancakes and they were the best pancakes I've tasted. They were so huge and fluffy, he couldn't finish it all. On top of being extremely delicious, it was very inexpensive. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. It was smothered in the bechemel sauce, which made it more saucy that I'd prefer, but the bread was crispy, the ham was delicious, the cheese was strong, and the eggs cooked perfectly. I came across this restaurant after searching for a good Sunday brunch spot and I'm so glad we ate here! It was a cold, rainy Sunday and I was in the mood for some good breakfast food. The restaurant itself is tiny - when we got inside, I was surprised by how small it was. It's basically split down the middle with a waiting area on the left, and booths and tables on the right and a little counter area in the middle. We got there at the end of the brunch rush so there was a 15/20 minute wait but it wasn't that bad! The decor was nautical and there were a ton of historical pictures and tidbits of info scattered around the restaurant. We were seated right by the "Daily Specials" chalkboard and I remember thinking "Jeez, they have so many different things!!" They also provided a copy of the specials in the menu. We were greeted by the four staff members on the floor and our orders were taken in a good amount of time. Raymond wanted to try their chicken and waffles, which also came with two eggs any style. I got the Big combo - two eggs any style, house potatoes, bacon, sausage, one pancake, and I also got bread (free of charge). It took about 10 minutes to get our food after ordering which was pretty impressive! Everything was so good - I really enjoyed the house potatoes because they were made from scratch. The pancake was literally heaven in my mouth!!! It was so fluffy and warm...so freakin' delicious! As for the chicken and waffles, it got Raymond's stamp of approval. The chicken itself was huge and fried to perfection and the waffle was made with a yummy batter. Overall, our visit was quick and pleasant. The staff were so nice and accommodating.
