First time trying this place today. Sevice was quick and the food was hot. The reason I giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to their peach crepes. Sadly, I wasn't a fan. I believe I didn't like them because the compote on top was cold. If the compote were to be hot instead, I think it would have tasted better. This diner was unexpected, but not terrible. I thought it was more of a breakfast/lunch diner. My partner and I were interested in having pancakes for dinner. But apparently, by a certain time of night, they switch out the menu for a dinner menu. Which is normal for restaurants, but typically diners serve breakfast all day. Their dinner menu was quite small and expensive. My partner did not like his meal and said it was undercooked. I had a good experience with the stroganoff. Their dinner menu was predominantly Italian cuisine. I tried ordering wine, but they don't serve alcohol- which is also unusual for a diner (most do). Overall, I wouldn't mind trying it again, preferably their breakfast, because their dinner was too overpriced for what was served. read more

Man this is a little hole in the wall place, but the food is off the chart. OMG! The pancake was hot and delicious. They bring out children food first, if you have kids with you. Visited for the first time today and was incredibly disappointed with our experience. Right from the beginning, the hostess was extremely rude. We were asked to sign in upon arrival, which was no problem at all. After signing in, the hostess told us to take a seat. My girlfriend politely inquired, "anywhere?" and was met with a curt and unpleasant "No!" from the hostess. She then pointed us to a waiting room that we had not been shown before, which was confusing as this was our first visit. As if that wasn't off-putting enough, while in the waiting room, the hostess astonishingly asked my 8-month pregnant girlfriend if we wanted to be seated at a bar table. I responded that we would prefer a regular table or a booth. Ignoring our preference and, surprisingly, basic courtesy, she proceeded to seat a family that walked in about 10 minutes after us. We chose to leave, and I am very glad we did. We were hoping for a pleasant dining experience, especially considering my girlfriend's pregnancy, but this initial encounter was enough to completely turn us off. Customer service is fundamental in the hospitality industry, and it was sorely lacking here. I hope the management addresses this issue. **We will not be returning to this establishment.** read more

Recently stopped in here on a trip through the area. This diner is small but mighty! They have taken a lot of precautions to provide safe and hygienic place for diners. It is very clean and the tables are spaced out with a separate section for those waiting on a table. We got there early enough to be seated right away and had hot coffee in the first few minutes. The food portions are large and everything can be modified as needed for special diets. I recommend their omelettes, the bacon was also crispy and delish. Enjoy! read more

Oh boy. What can I say! This place is a true gem. It's literally down the street from Naval Station Norfolk out of Gate 4 so basically 4 minutes away. It's very convenient for anyone that works on base. We went for lunch and got there around 1115. The place was packed, and they just opened so that was a good sign. We decided to sit at the bar/counter so we didn't have to wait for a booth to open up. I went to the restroom before I ordered anything and it was nice and tidy. One of the handles on the faucet was missing but no biggie because they still had water and soap available. I went back to the seat at the counter and the waiter was very nice and seemed genuinely sweet. She did not rush us either, so we took our time looking at the menu. The atmosphere was very chill and entire staff was amazing to my group. I had a Cuban sandwich, and it was good. I felt like the meat was a bit dry but the sandwich overall was very tasty and the bread was toasted to perfection. I also had onion rings and they were just as good as Sonic! Sweet hot, crispy and fried, I loved them! My friends had a Rueben sandwich and she said it was good and it looked delicious. My other co worker had an angus burger and the one had a omelet and potatoes. If you get a chance to eat here, do it! You will not regret it! I will be back! read more

The wait for breakfast is well worth it. They have a solid, and respected system that keeps the wait time to 15-25 min. Due to the system, when you're seated they may be a little slow to take your order, get your refills, etc. This could also be due to understaffed covid times. IRREGARDLESS the food smacked. Best pancakes I've ever had. The batter is cinnamon mixed with vanilla mixed with everything you can ask from a pancake. I got the big breakfast combo I believe; great amount of food for $11. Really great little strip mall cafe. Seems to be a favorite locals. It's always a good sign when police eat at a place as a group. The food is very good and the portions are generous. I ordered the breakfast skillet, my wife loved her crab cake Benedict and we split some delicious pancakes. We ate with my 1 year old and they were very accommodating. The servers were very kind and helpful, however they were swamped and service was a little slow. We had to wait about 15 minutes and after ordering it took almost 20 minutes for food to arrive. Came here while visiting my son and daughter. I'm a big fan of local eats and peeps. My wife ordered the home-made chili , my daughter ordered the bobby, I ordered the breakfast bowl. Each item was carefully prepared and looked delicious. On top of the chili, and the breakfast bowl they offered fresh cornbread and a pancake. OMG hello yes free. Stopped in Oceanview Diner for breakfast after a morning appointment. The location is very inconspicuous located in a small strip of businesses. The parking is ample. The decor reflects the OV vibe with pictures of the Amusement park that was once a area landmark. I really enjoyed the skillet with sausage, potatoes, onions, peppers.
