Small local carniceria selling spicy chorizo if you are familiar with that- authentic to Mexico! They don't sell much of anything but else or other meat products but will definitely return for their chorizo. If you've never tried green chorizo please give it a chance because it is sooooo good. The old saying, "Looks can be deceiving" comes to mind because our minds are trained to think meat with the hue of red (in reality it's not btw) so when we think green meat we think to ourselves, "it's not good". This chorizo is green because of the various green goodness that goes into making this fyi. I'm not sure of their recipe but it could be green chiles, tomatillos, cilantro etc My fiancé & his family had never tried green chorizo & I decided to make them breakfast & they all loved it! That's not a business model I would bet on but they are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm so what does that tell you? They sell several different kinds in both bulk and stick form. The bulk is $4.00 lb and the 1 meter long sticks run about $8.50. The have green chorizo that gets its color from Serrano peppers. All the sausage is ultra lean and super flavorful. Ochoa's Chorizo is a small little store located in Santa Ann. Most unlocals wouldn't even know it's there. As soon as you open the door to Ochoa's the aroma of chorizo fills your sense of smell. They have a few chorizo links to choose from depending on how spicy you would like it, of course if you know me I don't do spicy, so I got the original chorizo. They have a few other items also like some flour tortillas some homemade green and red salsa the young girl told me it was homemade also I think milk a few drinks, very small little store so not a lot of items to choose from but if you're going to a Ochoa's more than likely you're going there for their Chorizo. One think to keep in mind is they sale the whole link which is 2lbs according to the young girl at the register. Once home I cut up a few potatoes and put some chorizo in there wow the Chorizo was really good. Every tasty. When you buy chorizo at the supermarket and cook it in a pan, it melts because it's mostly grease. The product that Ochoa's is selling is all high quality beef. They have two choices - regular or spicy. Be warned, the spicy is really hot, but it burns so good! You can incorporate it into any number of dishes to instantly turn them from bland to grand! We've been buying chorizo here for years. We typically buy by the pound loose and this time had to buy the links. The person at the counter insisted that the links that they charge more than double the amount were 2 pounds each. We asked for 8 pounds and were given 4 links again being told that they were 2 pounds each. We were not happy to pay more for the links as we prefer the loose meat, but we bought it as we needed it. Upon arriving home, we weighed each link and it turns out that they're about 1.5 pound each. We only got about 6 pounds of meat instead of the 8 pounds we were told we were getting and paid for. Their prices keep going up and we're fine paying for their product, but definitely feel ripped off and very upset. Make sure they weigh the meat before buying it as you are not getting what you paid for. Not only did we pay more per pound, but were short 2 pounds of meat that we paid for. Very disappointing. Don't blindly trust them and make sure you're getting what you pay for. read more

The chorizo is great! But they ripp me off! The price per pound is $3.75 or $8.00 per meter (?) supposedly 2lbs. I got 1 meter paid $8.40 then I asked them to weight it and it was 1.6 Lbs!
