The customer service here is the worst! The employees in the meat market don't even attend you, they just look at you standing there.

It has everything you'd expect from the other Tokyo Central stores, from fresh produce and meats to bottled drinks, snacks, and pantry staples. If you're looking for a quick lunch or dinner, they also have an incredible selection of freshly prepared meals that make it easy to grab something on the go. One of my favorite parts is the hot food section. It's essentially a large self serve hot bar with a wide variety of dishes, so you can mix and match and take as much or as little as you'd like. There are plenty of options, and everything looked fresh and well stocked during my visit. Compared to the nearby Mitsuwa, this location feels much larger and has a wider selection overall. Whether you're doing your weekly grocery shopping, picking up lunch for work, or just stopping in for drinks and snacks, Tokyo Central is definitely worth checking out.

They have an incredible selection of different freshly prepared foods, with two giant buffet tables where you can load up on as much of the different options as you care to get. There's also an incredible variety of packaged foods, other items, and different things that are directly imported from Japan. It seems much bigger than Mitsuwa Marketplace, which is in the same shopping center. The selection is also a lot more varied. For example they have a ton of shabu shabu options that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. They also have a highly organized checkout system, as well as self-checkout, so you can get prompt service if you need it. Overall, this is a great place for anyone who takes Japanese groceries seriously. Worth the trip for lunch or for shopping!

My group of friends and I were purchasing snacks and waiting respectfully in line at Register 14. Our group consisted of one African American individual and three Southeast Asian individuals. When it was our turn to check out, the cashier told us the store was closed and refused to ring up our items. She directed us to customer service instead. When we went to customer service, we were informed that the store was actually still open until 10:00 PM. What made the situation even more upsetting was that after refusing to serve us, the cashier immediately rang up the customer behind us. If the store was truly closed, why were other customers still being checked out? The entire interaction felt targeted, disrespectful, and humiliating. While I cannot know the cashier's intentions, being denied service while another customer was served moments later left my friends and me feeling singled out and unwelcome. Rather than argue, I left all of my items behind and walked out. I have shopped at 99 Ranch for years and never expected to experience something like this. I hope management reviews the surveillance footage and register activity from Register 14 around 9:00 PM on June 6, 2026, and addresses why customers were falsely told the store was closed while others continued to receive service. Until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I noticed other customers approaching staff directly for assistance, so I eventually did the same. The employee behind the counter selected four beautiful salmon steaks for me. However, while packaging them, the bag split open and all four steaks fell onto the floor. The employee quickly picked them up and took them back behind the counter. It appeared that he attempted to rinse them off and package them to sell to me anyway. When he brought them back, I asked, "Didn't those salmon steaks just hit the floor? Could you please get me four new ones?" His response, said quietly under his breath, was, "Oh, you saw that." He then selected four replacement steaks, weighed them, and labeled them for purchase. I was very disappointed that anyone would attempt to sell food that had fallen on the floor. That experience left a very negative impression and made me question the seafood department's food handling practices. The rest of my shopping experience was fine, and the highlight of my visit was one of the restaurants inside the store--a boba and milk tea shop. The service there was excellent, and I had one of the best yogurt and pumpkin milk teas I've ever tasted. That positive experience is the reason I'm giving three stars instead of one. I'll likely avoid purchasing seafood here in the future, but I would definitely return to visit the shops and restaurants inside the store.
