Wow the croffle is great and the double matcha YUM
    Anna T.

Double Matcha? Count me in I love a thiccccck matcha foam on top of my matcha and this place hits for this area. This is my go to place when I am in the area. It hits and I drink this up so fast! I also got their croffle and I was actually impressed on how good it was. Maybe cause I was one of the first few that came when they placed it out on display so it was fresh fresh. Space is super minimal and lots of area to work!

Been to this place a few times and the drinks were spot on every single time. This place has an industrial, modern vibe with chill, ambient music. My favorite drinks here are the matcha coconut water and strawberry matcha. I've tried some of the coffee from my husband as well and they were delightful (good coffee intensity/flavor, not too diluted). It's a chill space for a hangout or do some work. Highly recommend!

Great spot for drinks in a cool spacious spot! I got their blueberry matcha latte for the 2nd time, which did not disappoint. I love how their blueberry purée tastes natural and less artificial than other spots, and love how you can feel the actual blueberry chunks in the purée. This makes the blueberry matcha very pleasant and works very well with the matcha without overwhelming the drink with artificial flavors. The interior has almost a mini art gallery vibe in certain spots. Love the spacious area with multiple tables and the free parking in the lot!

My new go-to coffee spot when I'm around South Coast! I also love to come by sometimes when I feel like working at a cafe. There are so many good cafes in South OC but this is in my top 5 overall. Seating is great - there's plenty of it, it's comfy, and they have power strips so you can plug in to charge your devices. Drinks altered my brain chemistry. Such great quality and I love that they offer unique flavors. My go-to is the blue lavender latte. But I also love the einspanner and Spanish lattes, as well as other seasonal flavors. They also have breakfast pastries - not a ton of options but they're all DELICIOUS. The waffles and cinnamon rolls are to die for. What else could one possibly need? Staff isn't always super nice, but they're not unpleasant either- just meh they don't talk much or go out of their way to be welcoming. Shouldn't need to deal with any issues because they're usually on top of things. Love it! Will be back often!

    Banana Cream Matcha (not good)

I love this place! Their matcha is top notch and their service is amazing! This shop is big and has great space for students to study. I'm obsessed with their pistachio matcha and coconut matcha cloud. I decided to try their banana cream matcha today and unfortunately, I was not impressed. It did not taste like banana at all. The drink tasted more like matcha in my opinion, but overall Grid Coffee is a great place to go to if you want a good matcha!

Was looking for cafes in the area and stumbled upon this place! I tried their Double Matcha Latte, and it was really good! The cream top had great strong matcha flavor and their matcha latte was tasty too. Not sure if it was just me, but their matcha had some fruitiness to it which was different but I did still enjoy it overall. They have a huge space with lots of tables for hanging out with friends, studying, etc. The service was quick and our drinks came out fast. Would recommend if in the area!

Tried Grid Coffee and overall it was a good experience. I ordered the hojicha but had to ask for an adjustment because it was a little too sweet and the tea flavor got lost. Once they tweaked it, it was better, but I'd probably ask for less sweet next time from the start. The matcha cloud was really good--super smooth and balanced. My friend got the strawberry matcha and that one was perfect. Cute spot and solid drinks overall, I'd just customize the sweetness next time.

This place has a very open space layout with a good amount of seating. Some of the seats are better for catching up with friends than studying though. The minimalist aesthetic reminded me a lot of Stagger in LA. I got a vanilla cafe latte with oat milk and it was good (3.5/5), but my friend mentioned her matcha could be stronger. They don't have your name on the drinks so you do have to pay attention when they call you.

I got an iced matcha latte with oatmilk and thought it was good! It's a pretty spacious cafe to be working from. The only downside is that the wifi may or may not be available depending on how many people are using it which wasn't as ideal. When we came in, we couldn't connect but once people started leaving, it was available.

one of the better coffee spots out in oc! i love their einspanner latte, its not too bitter nor sweet; just right & their cookie butter latte is second best. they don't have the einspanner matcha on the menu but you can ask for it & they'll make one for you :) the coffee & matcha is very smooth imo. the service is always quick & friendly here. their cream tops are creamy & sweet, complimenting their drinks very well with perfect ratio. the coffee shop is huge, with plenty of space to study or work. its not too loud or quiet in there. perfect spot for studying or coffee dates. its always a hit or miss with how busy; one weekend it could be chill & the next weeknd its packed but the wait isnt usually too bad since they're quick with making drinks. i'd definitely prefer grids coffee over the others around the area & highly recommend it :)

Recently was recommended to visit this establishment and came back the following day. Sentiment should describe on how good their coffees are. Upon walking in, you'll notice this giant industrial space like environment to hang out and study while enjoying their brews. Staff were super friendly and engaging with recommendations. I noticed the care that they put into crafting the drinks and it speaks volume with their dedication. If you are looking for a place to study and relax, mainly good coffee, this is your jam. Come try some delicious drips.

At the Costa Mesa location, parking was a little tricky at first, but after circling we got lucky with a corner spot. The location itself is SO cute! It's right next to colorful barrel fountains, and on a sunny day it honestly felt like the perfect coffee outing. The line was pretty long and you are standing in direct sun, so just keep that in mind, but the service was quick and efficient once you order. Inside, it's small but really charming, with Sunny Angels hidden around and a very open, friendly vibe. My sister (who is basically a professional coffee drinker at this point ) got the matcha and said it was her favorite, which says a lot. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. Definitely worth the visit!

The parking however, was VERY filled during this time. The line was huge for a 11:00am on a Friday morning. We were bummed that the QR code was not working on the very cute wooden signage outside the coffee shop while we were in line, which was a bummer. The Honey Oat Latte with oat milk was delicious. I am notorious for chugging my iced coffee but this was absolutely delicious. A sweet, subtle honey sweetness taste and the creamy oat milk was divine. My manager's Spanish Latte was so much better & I will be getting that next time! We bought our other coworker the Strawberry Matcha, which we did not try & we were worried after the fact because it did not look like it had strawberries in it, but she confirmed it was very tasty and tasted the strawberry! The outside seating areas in this outdoor area was very cute. Lots of fun art, the directory was creative, the CD tunnel was the coolest part! We also walked over to the breakfast burrito place as well. This seems like a nice area to come and relax and just people watch and enjoy a delicious iced latte from Nook.

There is limited parking but the lot was mostly empty when I visited at 8am on a weekday. I was greeted with a smile upon entry and I got in a line of about 8 people. The line would whittle down rather quickly but then would go right back up to about 8, back & forth, during the entire time I was there. Only 2 gals were working but they were like a machine, taking orders and cranking out drinks in a perfectly synchronized barista ballet. I ordered a large hot Spanish latte and chose a chocolate croissant from the pastry case. I declined having the pastry warmed as the chocolate gets melty and gooey-messy all over my hands. She informed me that the latte would have 4 shots of espresso unless I wished otherwise, but I was ready for a good case of coffee jitters. The interior is very small with 6 two-tops crammed together and a window counter with 5 or so chairs. I sat at a table. The latte was perfectly made, served at immediate drinking temperature, with a great quality coffee and a cinnamon flavor that was exactly the right strength. The croissant was fresh with plenty of chocolate inside. By the time I finished it, I looked like a three-year-old; my lips were smeared with chocolate. This was an excellent pastry. The house made vanilla was good, nothing special but did not have that artificial, alcohol-y taste you sometimes get from the store bought syrups. The drinks, however, tasted more milk than espresso forward. Not my personal preference but if you like your drinks on the milkier side this is probably better suited for your tastes. The flavor of the espresso was fine but I personally would have preferred to add a min additional shot or two for a more coffee forward taste, even with just the plain latte.

Even a simple "we can only do a limited menu right now" would have felt more accommodating. What made the experience disappointing was not just being turned away, but the feeling that we were unwelcome despite technically arriving before closing time.
