I don't understand why this place has a 3.1 rating. The food is good and has great flavor. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the selection is small. While the food is consistently being replenished, I feel there could be more variety overall. Another downside is that the buffet is only available on Fridays and Saturdays, which makes it hard for me to come consistently. Lastly, the price is a bit high for the size of the selection. I assume the cost is driven by the seafood options, which are good, but it still feels overpriced for what's offered. read more

Overall the breakfast buffet was good. There are quite a few food but I would have liked more. That being said, enjoyed everything I ate, felt like it was worth the money. The price is ok at $29 with a players club card. We went to the sea food buffet that's on Fridays and Saturdays. Honestly, most of the food is VERY bland. The snow crab legs are spindly and not worth the effort. The jalapeño shrimp was kinda good. The fried shrimp was ok, just regular fried shrimp. Most everything else I tried had no flavor. Also they put their plates out still wet so most of the clean plates were covered in water. Kind of weird to put food onto a wet plate. I didn't like that. All of the workers were very friendly and helpful! I'd pay double or triple (or more) the price if the food was outstanding. I was disappointed in their food though. I went back memorial day weekend. I was gambling with family and decided to give it another chance. Went on Saturday seafood night. Pleasantly suprised, decent food this time around, fresh and desserts fantastic. Desserts 5 stars! So yummy. Pastas were ok. My mom loved the ceviche. Crab legs decent. The Saturday Seafood Buffet sounded good to me. Unless you want crab legs and oysters, save a bunch of money and head on into Yuma to Golden Corral. Seriously. Fresh breads can make a delightful addition to one's meal! But don't count on it here. Most buffets that offer lasagna at least offer breadsticks or garlic bread. Not at Ocotillo at Quechan Resort and Casino. (Olive Garden is three exits away.... Go) Ocotillo puts some rolls in a basket over by the condiments/ Salad bar station. Do you need my recipe for Scalloped potatoes? I'll come out and do a training session if you would like me to. I realize it's complicated... but it's hands down so delicious when you add butter, garlic onions cream or at least evaporated milk and cheese to EVERY batch. Hey here is another suggestion... pay a visit to Golden Corral and see if the mystery can be unraveled of how a baked potato can be kept past tepid to a proper serving temperature. Even Wendy's Baked potatoes cause the butter or cheese to melt. The meat being served at the carving station smelled off. Not Bad just off. Like it might not be what is normally served. To be honest... it reminded me of what we prepared in the Diet kitchen for the lions and other carnivores. Not bad, at all just not a meat sourced from the usual butcher counter. Maria our server was lovely! She was personable and kept in touch with our beverage needs and such. The staff removed used plates in a timely manner. The cashiers process seemed to take too much time. Each guest wanting the 'deal' price must have a players card! Some had to leave the line and spouses dug in purses while their hubbies stood patiently waiting as the line grew and the desserts got crusty! The beautiful slice of lemon layered cake should have been ever bit as delicious as it looked. But because so many desserts were plated (nicely) far too long before 4:00 pm approached.... It was crispy having dried out. (Is it possible that staff does dessert final touches like this as guests are admitted thus assuring freshness?) What a pitiful experience. This area was not well Lit which was sad. It must be noted as well the ventilation was pulling seafood aroma that way! The seafood buffet at the Quechan Casino is fabulous. The price is excellent and the seafood excellent. We were with a large group and were able to seat us mostly together along one of the sides. There was plenty food for everyone and regardless of whether or not they were big seafood eaters. The crab legs were excellent as was the clams, shrimp and even the prime rib. If in the area again, we will definitely stop here again. read more

You get food for free and one drink for free but you have to pay for milk or chocolate milk which is a little bit inconvenient because they have oatmeal and cereal which people typically eat with milk. Say if you're hungry and you know it clap your jaws and eat for cheap. We did their Sunday night buffet @ $12.99 each. For an extra $13 l added a 1lb lobster. The lobster is simply boiled and served with a very diluted liquid butter and 2 lemon wedges. I tried the salmon from the buffet, it tasted like they put it in the steamer and that's it. It is tasteless. Their best section of the buffet, in my opinion, is the salad bar. I do not recommend the dessert! I tried a piece of what looked like a banana pie but it only tasted like a chemical cake mix, l had a small bite and discarded the rest. Dessert section looks colorful and tasty but dont get fooled! Now in all fairness, the buffet is cheap and we got what we paid for, an average plentiful array of grubs. read more

In Spring of 2010, an oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico exploded, causing several deaths, a huge oil spill, and billions of dollars worth of environmental damage. Although many people do not know this, there was a single snow crab on the platform when it exploded. As a result of the explosion, the crab was launched into the ocean and then covered in crude oil for three straight months. Being a survivor, the crab climbed onto a floating piece of wood which had carried him to the coast of Japan by spring 2011. As the crab approached the coast of MIYAGI, he was shaken violently by a 9.0 earthquake and then swept into the coastline by a massive tsunami wave. As it raged into the coastline, the tsunami wave smashed the crab into burning buildings, causing him to catch on fire. When the tsunami wave receded, the crab was miraculously still alive. He had been exploded, oiled, burnt, earthquaked and tsunamied. As he limped through the streets of Japan, subjected to high levels of radiation, the brave little snow crab finally gave up in his long fight for survival. He died a hero. One day later, a talent scout from the Quechan casino, who happened to be in Japan, found the dead crab on a sidewalk and sent it back to the Octillo buffet for processing. When the crab arrived at the Buffet, kitchen staff followed the regular procedure of leaving his dead body in a sink full of dirty dishes for 40 days. After completing that process, the crab was boiled and added to the buffet menu. The very next evening, I paid $17.00 to eat that crab. The most impressive feature of going to eat here is that if you get a "Q card" from the cashier at the front desk, you get $25 in free money (that was in '10- it may be less now) toward gambling that you can quickly cash in, effectively making a meal here free and still having some extra gas money. At $6.99 per person for lunch, Octotillo offers a good selection of food, which includes mainly American, Mexican, and Seafood. Standouts items included Oysters on the Half Shell, Scallops, hot wings, cheese tortellini, beef brisket, and ceviche, among some others. There was also a soup & salad bar, a make-your-own sandwich bar, and a decent dessert selection which featured a chocolate fountain with strawberries for dipping. The service was also above average and items were refilled in a timely fashion. Overall, it was good. Like I said, you can't beat getting $25 for free (I think they are currently offering $10 for free) and then using the money here [especially if you are just passing through the area]. read more

Dinner buffet: I believe it was $28 per person. The food was definitely not worth it! We went on a Friday night, which happened to be their seafood night. I don't eat seafood, so the selection was EXTREMELY limited for me. For those in my party who did eat seafood, said the crab legs were the only thing to go for. Two people in our group were up all night running to the bathroom. The dessert selection is slacking. Breakfast buffet: It was about $9. Not a bad price, but a little much for the selection. We try to come for the Friday/Saturday Seafood buffet (under $20/person). The crab legs and shrimp require a bit of effort; I lost patience and mowed through the frog legs, rib tips, salmon and prime rib. A note of stations - there was everything: Pasta, Carving, Salad, Starch, Veggies, Sides, and Stews, you name it and they had it (now it's in mah belly!) HUGE selection of desserts - I had to opt out because after that much food, there wasn't much room left...not even in my esophagus. Mom and I opted for the Street Tacos with Shrimp and they were good. These were 3 large size Tacos not a traditional "street" size with all of the fixings. Mexican rice and beans was an additional $2. My 81 year old dad selected the NY Steak. It looked a little tough but he was happy with the quality. $19 Buffet with Prime Rib and seafood I have been to all the weekend seafood buffets in the Yuma area and this one is the best by far. It isn't huge and it isn't Vegas quality but all the food is fresh and tasty. One nice thing is you don't wake up the next day all swollen from excess sodium. There is a shrimp scampi station that is actually delicious. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Alcohol is purchased separately. That is to be expected. I do recommend this buffet. read more

The burrito was the only meal that was edible. The 3 chicken dishes were dried out chunks/slices of garbage. We can find much better dining in Yuma without having to make a trip to the Q.
