My wife, daughter and I ate lunch here a few days ago. My daughter moved to Auburn a few weeks ago and we have been exploring local restaurants. We were actually going to another establishment, but it was closed, so we picked Oddfellas as a runner-up; we are so glad that we ate here; it is great! The place is really a pub with a large beer menu. But the food is great! I ordered Red's Chili ($7.95) with cheese & onion. This is one of the best bowls of chili I've ever had. I think I'll rate it #2 compared with the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo Texas as #1. The chili had hunks of steak. Real steak cut into cubes with some beans in a delicious sauce. Fantastic! My wife had the DBLT (Double Bacon, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich ($9.99) that lived up to its name with lots of bacon, extending far outside of the bread. She said it was delicious. Found this place on google and decided to try it out since their website showed that they had happy hour on a Saturday. The website might need an update since it showed it had cod tacos and when we got there our server said they didn't have those anymore. They still honored due to the website. The service was great! Only thing the beer we ordered was not good, tasted like melted better but the food was decent. The went heavy on the horse radish sauce on the fish tacos. Being a bit of an Oddfellow myself, I love the premise, and vibe of this place. They have a good menu and good food but like most places they are very challenged with staffing. I see other reviews criticizing the service but every business is having an incredibly hard time finding staff these days. Service was a bit challenged during my visit last week but just step back and look around the restaurant before you slam the wait staff. The entire place was being served by only two waitresses. There was a girl with blond pony tails that was doing the lions share of the work. She was literally running from table to table without a break during the whole time we were there. The other girl said she just started two days ago an is really still trying to get the hang of things. The bartender was coming out to buss tables when he could. Have a heart, these people are doing the best they can. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere. This is a good bar and dining spot in downtown Auburn. There're TV's around for you to watch your favorite sport channels. I was here for one of the UW Husky games, and I ordered fish and chips on HH menu. Well, the fish was hot and crispy. The fries were good! It was smaller portion since I ordered from HH menu, but I enjoyed the food amount anyway. The service could be a bit better as our waitress often forgot about our table, and we finally had to get up to ask the bartender to fill up our water glasses after we realized she had left for the evening. read more

We went out the other day and came across this pub that looked like a cool hangout in Auburn. And we thought we'd order some food from their "to go" menu today. We went through Grubhub for our lunch. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the french dunk sandwich. My husband loved the amount of meat that was on the sandwich and Oddfellas grilled onions for him taboot! I thought I might get the fish sort of soggy but they surprised me with them being really crispy. We loved the meal and as soon as they open up for regular business we will be there. My husband wanted to go somewhere different for breakfast, so we went here. Had lunch here several years ago and it was good. Our waitress was nice, but it took awhile before she even came to our table and service was meh. We didn't like the hash browns as they were little pieces of potato. We prefer shredded hash browns or actual homemade potatoes. The juice had ice in it and wasn't that good. Not much of a menu and many restaurants have a senior menu. Finally got the chance to check out OddFellas today! I went during lunch time with my aunt, so it was fairly vacant. We were seated pretty much right when we arrived, and we managed to score parking RIGHT outside of the door! The inside is cute, definitely sticking to the Irish theme but also that of a sports bar. It's also a lot bigger than I expected - the ceilings are super tall, the building itself is big, and the booths are even big... I'm not sure where I was going with that, but it's just something I remember now that I think about it! I ended up having the Cottage Pie because I absolutely looOOoOOoove Shepherds Pie. It came quick and piping hot, which is always good! It was pretty tasty, but I still love O' Blarneys Shepherds Pie way better. A solid little spot in downtown Auburn. There are a few blocks through here with some cool old brick buildings, and OddFellas occupies a nice corner space in one of them. There's not much in the way of a parking lot right around here from what I could see, but street parking was an easy score. Inside, everything has been overhauled to bring it up to modern pub standards. There's a mishmash of tables and stools throughout, with some areas that feel more like dining rooms and some that feel more like bar seating--but I believe it's entirely 21+. The main bar is across from the front door, with about 20 faucets pouring a mix of Irish imports and domestic craft beers--mostly big IPAs, porters, stouts, and the like. All good stuff, and some is from very local and very small breweries, which is really cool. There's at least one raised table in here with about a dozen throne-like dining room chairs ringed around it, and a flat-screen overhead on the wall. Creates a great effect, makes the table seem like it's hosting an important conversation. Overall, the place feels much more like a sports bar than an Irish pub, but that's mostly due to all the flat screens and the clear focus on watching the game. The décor, food, and many of the beers all aim for an Irish feel. The staff here are super friendly and right on point throughout the time you're here. They seem to draw a great stream of regulars through here. read more

I wasn't expecting much, being as it's a bar in the middle of godknowswhere, but I was impressed by both the service and the food. First, the dill dough. Yes, "dill dough." It's not every day where you can exclaim loudly in public, "Wow! This is the best dill dough I've ever had in my mouth!" Aside from the pun, though, that dill dough is pretty damn good. I'd like to enjoy a dill dough every day, if you know what I mean. *wink wink, nudge nudge* I had the macaroni and cheese, which is essentially the stovetop stuff you ate as a kid: kraft/velveeta cheese, and served with little cut up hot dogs. AMAZING. I could have eaten many bowls of the stuff. My companions had sandwiches that were tasty. Their liquor selection is large, and they carry a selection of high-test beers that will knock you on your keester -- as a result, they'll only serve two. But that's all you need, bub. The server that we had was speedy and friendly, and didn't mind us making stupid "dill dough" jokes even though I'm quite sure she's heard them all. But she laughed as if we were being really original, and that stroked my ego... and I like that, because I wasn't hugged enough as a child. So points there. If I ever find my way in that area again, I'd definitely go back to OddFellas. The price is right, the food is nice, and that dill dough is damn delicious. read more

After receiving a pitcher of iced tea and pouring a few glasses we discovered that the pitcher was dirty. We call the waitresses attention and she exclaimed, "that's a stain, we get asked about it all the time". I then showed her that taking a clean napkin and wiping removed the "stain". It wasn't a stain. Three separate employees, one being the bar tender, ran the same "stain" theory by us and each time I demonstrated that they just didn't bother cleaning the pitcher. It wasn't a stain. It's filth that is not being washed out. And there was many layers of this filth. The bar tender assured us they would "throw away the pitcher". Why not use soap and water and a cloth and just clean the pitcher?! We will never enter this restaurant again. So very disgusting that they hire employees that are to lazy to wash a pitcher. read more

Our first trip to Auburn and we were surprising our grandson for lunch. I had read lots of reviews prior to deciding on Oddfellas, and we totally made the right decision to go there! Sofia made us feel right at home and was so attentive to us! She never made us feel bad about our delay in ordering. We ended up waiting for our grandson for about 40 mins ( fortunately it was a Monday afternoon it wasn't too busy). Sofia seemed almost as excited as we were to be a part of the surprise! We had a very enjoyable lunch and our cod was exceptional! Their cook knows how to fry fish, so crispy, not greasy at all- absolutely perfect!!! Sofia even took pictures for us! She has an outgoing personality that was super fun to be around. The whole experience couldn't have been better! Wish this place was closer to our home in Denver, Colorado. I have to say one thing prior to this review, in restaurant dining is almost always a solid 4 stars. Take out on the other hand is a miss every time. My dill dough wasn't cooked all the way. The Smokey Mac was bland and missing a ton of yummy melty cheese that I love when I get it in restaurant. Fish was mediocre at best and the fries were all the tiny nubs in the bottom of the fry bin. They were also out of Malt Vinegar! I was so disappointed in what is usually one of my favorite restaurants.
