It's very comfortable inside and currently they have cute Halloween window paintings! Ryan also did a great job suggesting the best options for us too! Beyond the great options here we also received such great service. Thank you so much, Ryan! If we lived in Oceanside this would definitely be our go to spot. Hopefully we can visit again soon!

They do charge for extra, which I get, but I wished for a little more to start. Their homemade ranch made up for it though! The happy hour pretzel ($10) was perfect for sharing, and my friend's grilled fish tacos were fresh and light. The coconut shrimp looked amazing, so I'll try that next time. Can't wait to come back for the $20 lobster roll weekends ..and once I'm not pregnant, to sample that awesome beer list!

That said, after multiple visits, the service has consistently been the weak point. It can be slow and doesn't quite match the upscale experience or price point you'd expect from a rooftop like this. At these prices, I'd expect a level of service closer to what you'd receive at a high-end resort, and unfortunately it hasn't been there. You're definitely paying a premium for the location and view. I'd still recommend checking it out, especially for drinks, sunset, or a date night, but keep your expectations realistic when it comes to service and value.

The main area seemed to be more shaded than the pool area, so half our group was in the sun and the other half were shaded, thankfully there was a breeze! We specifically went for the happy hour drinks and they were delicious!!! Service was good - our waitress was friendly. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting the area on the future!

I tried the pickle beer sour, brewed with herbs found in dill pickles, and it tasted like pickle brine but better. It's the most memorable drink I've had thus far. Thirdly, the interior is filled with neon lights, pinball machines, board games, and more. In the back, there's a speakeasy. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Kilowatt. My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.

There is a small corkage fee if you buy bottles and want to consume them there but it's worth it. They have a nice outdoor area that seems to be connected to the other businesses they are connected to. Will come back to try more beers.

Re writing because it got taken down. Might've been too inappropriate so I'll make this clean. The worker desi from the other night, VERY rude. The food was good sure I didn't rlly stick around my aunt was the one that got the food considering. For some weird reason she was just giving negative comments that mention my race ? Just cause I am a little darker than her ? Im a teenager and a whole grown woman is worried about me. Aswell as being transphobic towards me which is crazy in a workplace. Even I know how to be more respectful than her and she's been living longer than me. Kinda sucks they allow someone like that to work there my family and I will never be going back. She should be fired. Whoever is training these workers need to teach them simple respect for the customers putting money in their pockets fr. What kind of culture is this place? This is hands down the best pizza I've ever had and I've tried a lot! The sourdough crust is absolutely unique: light, crispy, with that perfect tangy chew you don't find anywhere else. Every bite was incredible. The branding is on another level too super cool, retro vibe that makes the whole place feel welcoming and fun the second you walk in. The staff is genuinely super friendly, and the service was spot-on. Best part? I actually got to meet Oddie, the owner, while I was there. He's such a nice, polite guy who takes the time to talk to everyone in the restaurant. You can tell he really cares about the food and the experience. That personal touch makes it feel like you're eating at a friend's place rather than just another pizza spot. If you're in the Oceanside area, do yourself a favor and go to Odie's. Went in around lunch today and got the grandmas style Victor Vaughn pizza and was absolutely blown away. I was not expecting that. The cheesy baked crust was something I have always loved and they baked it to perfection. The consistency of the whole pizza was on point and I almost ate the whole thing to myself. I was also pleasantly surprised to not have knocked myself into a food coma afterwards as well and, while I felt full, I wasn't done for the day like I usually would be after downing that much pizza. Last night we grabbed pizza at Odie's then took it down to the beach, and it was unforgettable--crispy crust, fresh toppings, buzzing atmosphere, great service, perfect late-night hangout spot for authentic, affordable local pizza lovers. I have had 20 pizza's from here now and it is excellent every time. I wish mor people appreciated the obvious care and comedy of the instagram and online socials aswell, I do know what I love more, seeing a post from odies or eating a pizza from them. Odie's is serving up the best pie in North County. I had the Dude Ranch and the Bennie and the Jets grandma style. The sourdough crust here is the major highlight. It's ridiculously good and it was cooked to perfection in their oven. They're dialed in! These days, it's hard to find tacos loaded with that much meat and fresh guacamole, especially on freshly made tortillas. It was such a great value. My favorites were the carne asada taco and the birria taco--both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. If I'm ever back in Oceanside, this will definitely be one of my first stops!

This is my second time visiting so now I must talk about their vegetarian tacos. I've tried them…read moreand have something to say. 1. They are better with beans and cheese because it adds more flavor. Plus, choose your favorite salsa, there's added flavor. 2. The veggies are too chunky for tacos. Imagine biting into a taco and it's a bite of a whole zucchini with corn tortilla. Then it's an onion and corn tortilla, with maybe some guac and added salsa. Then it's a chunk of yellow squash. In tacos, veggies need to be diced smaller so the various veggies and ingredients fit in the mouth. Today, it wasn't cut properly. 3. Ordering a side of beans means refried beans and cheese. I thought I would use these beans to add to the tacos, which I still did, but it's not whole beans like it is when you order Coast Style (beans and cheese). The beans are good though. 4. The corn tortillas and salsas are the best part. Here's my biggest opinion - 5. Veggie tacos should already come with beans! Why are vegetarians paying the same price for a carne asada taco and we still have to request beans (and cheese) to be charged $1.50? Kinda crazy. 6. Don't bother with the veggie mulita. The veggies just fall out because they're so juicy so it's hard to eat and you end up eating it like a taco anyway (with no guac). Their Baja lager is a great beer though. I'd pick up a 6-pack of their Mexican lager for sure.
