Although we both have Global Entry, we were randomly selected to go through regular security screening. At first, we had no reason to question it. When we first approached the TSA PreCheck personnel, she told us that our digital boarding passes did not show PreCheck and that we needed to go through regular security. To save time, we went to the American Airlines desk and requested paper boarding passes. When we brought them back, the TSA personnel told us that she had just learned that we had been "randomly" marked for regular security screening. We then went to the regular security checkpoint, which had a much longer line and took approximately four times longer than the PreCheck line. When we finally reached the metal detectors, however, we were instructed to line up for the X-ray scanner instead. The woman directly in front of us was allowed to go through the regular metal detector, while we were directed to the scanner. Then, people behind us were also sent to the scanner, while other passengers were allowed to continue through the metal detector. At that point, we began noticing a very disturbing pattern. The people being held back and directed to the scanner appeared to be African American, Asian, or Hispanic, while the passengers being allowed through the metal detector appeared to be white. We understand that TSA screening can be random, but seeing this pattern unfold right in front of us was extremely difficult to ignore. It felt like blatant racial profiling. After this experience, I now question whether we were truly "randomly" selected in the first place. We have taken more than 10 flights since getting Global Entry, and this was the first time we were ever "randomly" selected for regular security screening. We genuinely believed it was simply a random screening until we experienced what happened at the security checkpoint. Because of the additional screening, we lost valuable time during our connection. We had only about 1 1/2 hours between flights, and by the time we finally cleared security, the boarding closing time printed on our boarding passes had just passed. We panicked and ran to the nearest American Airlines desk. Thankfully, a staff member checked our flight and kindly assured us that the flight was delayed and that boarding had just started. We then ran from Terminal D to Terminal B, including taking the airport train, and barely made it in time for boarding. We had no opportunity to use any of the airport amenities, restaurants, or shops, so unfortunately, we cannot comment on those. What we can comment on is how upsetting and unacceptable it was to feel that we were treated differently because of our race. No traveler should have to experience this. I sincerely hope DFW and TSA will look into how passengers are being selected and directed through these screening lines.

I should probably gatekeep this hidden gem... but it's too good not to share!…read more After American Airlines canceled our flight to Newark (EWR) due to weather on the East Coast, my elderly companion and I were unexpectedly stranded in Dallas for two days. We had to scramble to find a hotel, and I'm so thankful we ended up at the Hyatt Regency DFW. After checking in, there was a small mix-up with our room assignment, but Imbert C., the Front Desk Supervisor, immediately stepped in, corrected the situation, and even provided us with a credit to use at the restaurants on the property. That level of customer service made all the difference. Every staff member we encountered was amazing and genuinely friendly--from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant, bar, and shuttle drivers. The property was spotless everywhere we looked, and we loved that they even had board games and playing cards available for guests. When you're stuck away from home with nothing but time, those little touches mean so much. The airport shuttle service was another huge plus. It ran on time, the buses were clean, and the drivers were friendly and helpful, making sure everyone got to the correct terminal. Thank you, Hyatt Regency DFW, for turning a stressful travel disruption into a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Your hospitality truly stood out, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Frontier Flight 229 -- Cancun to DFW…read more My experience on Frontier Flight 229 from Cancun to DFW on August 16 was extremely disappointing. I understand that mechanical issues happen, and we were initially told the plane would take about 15 minutes to repair. However, we finished boarding around 11:00 AM and didn't actually depart until approximately 1:00 PM. During that entire time, we remained onboard with inadequate air conditioning, making the wait extremely uncomfortable. While we waited, we were offered only about half a cup of water. Once we finally departed, the flight attendants proceeded to offer drinks and snacks for purchase--nothing complimentary, not even a small bag of peanuts. Given the circumstances and the extended time passengers were kept onboard in uncomfortable conditions, I found this incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, the attitude of some of the flight attendants made the experience even worse. Their communication with passengers came across as condescending rather than understanding or reassuring. I understand that Frontier is a budget airline, and I don't expect luxury. But basic courtesy, communication, and consideration for passengers during a significant delay should not be too much to ask. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I sincerely hope I don't have to fly Frontier again.

You can walk to security and connect to any terminal quickly using the DFW Skylink, which makes early flights or tight connections much easier. The rooms appear recently renovated and feel far more upscale than a typical airport hotel. Warm wood floors, modern lighting, and a well-designed layout make the space feel calm and comfortable. The bathroom was a highlight -- the freestanding soaking tub and large glass shower felt more like something you'd expect in a luxury hotel rather than an airport property. Despite being inside the airport, the room was extremely quiet. Check-in was excellent as well. Desiree at the front desk greeted us immediately with a smile and offered assistance, which made a great first impression. Traveler tip: If your flight departs from another terminal, go through security in Terminal D and use the Skylink train inside security -- it's usually faster and very easy to navigate. Overall, beautifully updated rooms, excellent service, and unbeatable convenience for anyone traveling through DFW. I would absolutely stay here again.
