I initially came to this store on my way home from Whole Foods and chose it because it had better yelp reviews than the store closer to my building. At first I assumed it was just because they had more reasonable prices but after going I realized they also have Amazing Service! It's so refreshing and rare to experience great service so I had to write a review, which I haven't done in years. The man at the front was incredibly nice and helpful. I went in and was looking for a budget friendly bottle of wine, he came to help asking what I was looking for and helped me decide on a bottle. This was not a top shelf huge margin bottle by any means either, he understood what I was looking for and matched that need. After purchasing the bottle, at a reasonable price, I walked one block and came back in because I realized I didn't have a cork screw at home. I was just going to buy one and the amazing man at the front gave me a sponsored one from the back for free and showed me how to use it, i don't drink wine often. I'll definitely be coming back and it makes complete sense why their ratings exceed that of peers. read more

I've been delinquent in writing a review for this store, and for that I sincerely apologize, Odyssey Wine & Spirits. I love you guys! Pre-pandemic, I was a regular here for their weekly wine tastings and got to experience some delicious wines, especially during their Veuve Clicquot tasting (mmmm). I still stop by when I'm in the area and in need of wine, but it's not quite the same without those tastings. They really brought the community together, and in this dead zone of Port Authority/not-quite-Hudson-Yards, that's saying something. I've been to so many wine stores around the city and around this area and I have to say this is the best one. They have reasonably priced drinks as well as very friendly staff and great options. On Friday and Saturday night they do a tasting which is completely free and you get to sample some really great and unique wines or even liquor. There is a real shortage of good wine and liquor stores in Hudson Yards. Maybe in a few years when all the construction is done, but for now the pickings are slim. However, Odyssey is a shining light in the booze darkness. They are super nice and helpful. They deliver quickly as well. They have a great alcohol selection as I am a big bourbon and tequila fan. They also have a very good wine selection. From a bourbon perspective, there is a lot to choose from and the prices are very good. For those reasons, I buy all of my alcohol here. read more

Found this place when I needed something close to the office to purchase a quality gift for an executive. And man oh man did they pull through. Asked for qualities and age of the executive to help guide the selection process, took my notes and shifted seamlessly as we went along, was honest, didn't try to price gouge, and really worked for that frugal though fulfilling aspect. I was equally please when they tried to help me with my personal liquor shopping, but left me be when I said, "I know my liquors :-)", and still kept things fun yet professional. Great shop and the people who work here are very friendly. Very knowledgable and from the 2 times they recommended about wines, i enjoyed good wines. But one more thing about this store is that you don't just come here to buy wine. You also listen to stories about the wines, how they were made, and where they come from. And I don't know if that is just me, but after getting a good story the wine become better ;) Price range: they have everything. From the cheapest wines to the luxuries bottles. New liquor store just opened up on 10th ave, right next door to Duane Reade! The place is nice, clean, and spacious. They just opened up this past week! The alcohol prices are fair-I see the same prices from Trader Joe's, as well as some others-a 750mL bottle of soju is $10 (a tiny bottle is $8 at Woorijip), $12 for a champagne moscato bottle, chilled...$18 for the 750mL bacardi...etc etc. There's tons of bottles and names to choose from. They also have a section for tiny bottles that include 1-4 shots for about $3-8...which is cheaper than getting drinks at an outside venue! Big plus-they are puppy friendly! They all know my pup and spoil him with treats :) Love it! read more

Before covid, my hubby and I went here (almost) every week for the wine tastings (held on Thursday to Saturday). They had excellent wines for very reasonable prices. That's what I miss the most about this place. Obviously there hasn't been any wine tastings since covid, but we still go there. Hope they bring it back somehow. They have a wide selection. my favorite liquor store in the area. It's pretty huge for NYC standards. High ceilings and they have a good variety of stuff. Check out the fancy stuff that's locked up in the case for some unique items and gifts to impress. They may seem more pricey because it's in Manhattan, but compared to the other shops in the area, their prices are competitive and actually cheaper in many instances. Purchased 5 bottles on-line. Went to pick it up and they gave me a box. I was on a scooter so I asked for a bag. They said they didn't have bags. So I asked if they would deliver it. They said they can't now deliver it. You'd think they'd try to be helpful to customers making a big purchase. They did promptly refund my money, which I appreciate. Nice store but when I tried to make a $350 purchase and asked to put 100 on a gift card and the rest on my debit card they said I could only use one card. The guy helping me was nice but when he asked the manager the manager was short and abrasive. Live a block a way and will walk further for better service. Not shopping at this location again. Wine price seems on average for most Manhattan places with an average bottle price of 10 and higher. Maybe there are a few between $8-10. We bought a bottle and either it had gone bad or it tasted bad, either way, we returned it w/ receipt and they politely let us exchange it. Good selection, too. read more

Came here after a long day at comic con to check out some wine... I wish I know what kind of wine I enjoy to make this whole wine store shopping much easier...but I don't...so I was greeted with smiles and hellos when I frist walked in and saw many different types of samples to try... I got was thrilled to try out the stuff they have to offer...Sadly I didn't like any of the samples... Was kinda disappointed...I thought to myself maybe I'm just not a wine person... I ask the owner on type of wine would you recommend with a person that has my taste buds...he didn't really help or guild me ...just told me to look at the section that has sweet and savory wines...um how do I know which is which.. Even though I'm not a wine person I for sure know that all wine taste different...the service in the beginning was nice at the end kinda sucked...but the large variety of alcohols and the neatness in the area is defiantly spot on...the decor is pretty nice as well... read more

Overall, this place is great. I live above the building and every time I visit the people working there are friendly, helpful and informative. Except for one employee who manages to make patrons feel unwelcome whenever he's present. Not only is he uninterested in customer service but, he's flat out rude. I've entered the store on a snowy day and slipped, frankly the result of the icy sidewalk outside the store, and this guy saw what happened, smirked and walked away. And that's just one of several instances in which he's behaved inappropriately. At this point, I go elsewhere when I see this particular employee working. I'd rather walk to a further location versus deal with his hateful attitude. I hope management addresses this issue since it's unfortunate that one person ruins the overall review of the store. read more
