One of those hidden gem type places. The employees are nice. The food is excellent and the pricing is pretty reasonable. You get a pretty good amount of food for what you pay. The service is good, though it's not fast food, they cook it fresh so it can take 15-20 minutes to get your order. But the wait is well worth the quality. I went here based on the referrals from this site and from a friend. My daughter wanted to try sushi and I'd never had it, so I thought we'd try. We walked in at 1:00 on a Saturday and the place was packed. Granted, they only have about 10 tables, but still, for the time frame we went, I was surprised. Plus, their was a line to order! Our take out order took longer than I would have expected - about 30 minutes, but that's no big deal. We walked around the shoe store next door to waste time. Great Japanese food! Everything is good. Salmon hibachi is delicious as well as fried rice. They have amazing sushi- especially shrimp tempura roll! If you eat in, you get an appetizer and fruit after your meal. They also make a mean ginger dressing for their house salad- so yummy! read more

OEC has become our go-to spot for sushi since moving to TN. The prices are great, the food is of good quality and the staff is very friendly. We typically get take-out but have gone in to eat a few times. There are only a handful of tables so don't be surprised if you have difficulty getting a spot on a weekend night. We have an OEC back home (Hattiesburg, MS) and let me begin by saying this is a much better OEC location. The food was MUCH better, and the employees were very friendly. On our visit, we were in a rush and ordered to go, but the food came out quickly enough that we were able to stay and eat. Without saying a word to anyone, the employees brought us napkins, ginger sauce, and waters. Hopefully will be moving to the Memphis area in the next few weeks. This is a family run business - wonderful friendly folks who are always ready to give you a little extra, especially when you eat in! I have eaten there since they opened. Sushi is always made fresh for every order. Regular Sushi is a delicate food - unless it says "spicy", it is normally designed to taste the fish and the seaweed ingredients. I go here at least once a week for lunch and get either the hibachi lunch or the sushi. Both are great options for a very good price. The sushi presentation is the same that you would see at a fancy restaurant but at a lower price. The hibachi is also very good and the staff is extremely friendly. Chicken fried rice is the best! It's the best fried rice i've ever had -especially good with the japanese sauce. Miso soup isn't so good but the staff is so friendly- sometimes the lady will give you something for free if you are a regular there. The japanese sprite is also great. California rolls great price for great quality. I recommend this place to anyone. It's a great alternative if you don't want fast food but don't want to spend the money to go to a nicer restaurant. read more
