Found ORU web surfing. I think enough time has passed to write an honest review. My truck's alignment did not feel right for a while. Even after I took it to Firestone a few times for alignments. Steering wheel was crooked and it severely pulled to the right. Firestone could not correct it ever. I went in for an alignment with ORU and came out with new socks and shoes for my Tacoma; since my tires had been damaged from the misalignment. I'm glad I found these guys (Dez and Mo). My family has been 4 wheel nuts for as long as I can remember. Im just another in a long line of guys in my family who have owned lifted trucks. I am now the 3rd in my family to use ORU to go full out on his truck. I have a 2021 Ram 2500 and I immediately knew that Off Road Unlimited would be the shop that I wanted to work on my truck. I contacted them a few weeks back and spoke to Maurice, the owner. Very nice, down to earth kind of guy. We went back and forth and he pointed me in the right direction with a Carli 3.5" pin top lift kit and some 37s. I actually let Maurice pick out the wheels as I really didnt have an opinion one way or another. He definitely did not let me down. The truck came out absolutely fantastic, I couldnt be happier. All of the guys at the shop are very knowledgeable and overly friendly. I spent a few hours down there while they put the finishing touches on the truck and really got to know the guys. I had my 2 year old son with me and they were completely cool letting him run around and be the hurricane that he is. My son lovesssssss this shop. All the big trucks and big tires, his head was spinning. They were even cool enough to give my boy some stickers to put on his toy trucks. Overall great experience. I called to speak with Maurice for a tow hitch because I did not have any tools to install it for myself. Without making an appointment, he told me to bring the parts and he will have it set up. '92 Jeep YJ owner here. Wow! These guys are awesome. I dealt with Desi, and it was a pleasure all round. Rear differential had exploded under pressure, clutch had become unusable. ORU did a phenomenal job with both problems. Bottom line: my Jeep has never driven this good! Maybe more expensive than others, but boy do they know what they're doing. 11/5/2020 Update **** I had to take it down 1 star. Just had my alignment done at another shop. Alignment done by ORU or the shop they used was not good at all. I did not even get a print out that I asked for from ORU. Took my car back for an alignment issue and was told nothing is wrong. Well today I drove cross state for vacation and this car was not safe to drive above 55 mph. Finally had it fixed by a local shop who gave me before and after print out. Alignment was horrible. Caster was 4.3 on right 3,6 on left. Total Toe was -15/64in left -1/8in and right -3/32 in. VSC was not reset as an alignment professional should have done that. Also I had to take it back and ask them to reset KDSS on my vehicle. (those with toyota and lexus vehicles know what that is.) ORU did reset my KDSS at no charge but after the install of suspension. That could have caused damage and honestly was insane to drive with no swaybar activated at 65 mph. Over all they did good. But I would recommend they use a more professional alignment. I was charged for this alignment. **** Previous review **** Amazing work on my Ironman4x4 lift. They installed if fast and well. Great crew. Lots of knowledge. read more

Needed to get it done pretty quickly for a big Moab trip and they fit me in and made it happen. Could tell their guys were the real deal because someone maybe the alignment guys off site put a tiny ding in my door. Hardly noticeable but Maurice went out of his way to make it right and get it fixed. No problem at all. It was really nice to have a guy stand by his work and not mess around. TLDR: great shop, extremely professional crew (Maurice, Nick, Lupe, and Lars), excellent work. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit ('14 WK2) that I bought used about a year ago. Since then I've slowly worked to make it more capable of overlanding in the Southern California trails and our rapidly crumbling urban infrastructure. I have some Mopar underbody protection, but wanted something else for rock rails and tow hooks. Because apparently nobody in the US makes aftermarket armor for the WK2, I turned to one of the Australian suppliers, Offroad Animal, for rock sliders. I picked them up from the warehouse on Saturday and called up a couple places to see if I could get them installed. Nick at ORU was super-responsive, and told me I could bring them in the same day for installation. These are still pretty uncommon kits in the U.S. and it took a little longer than expected to install due to metric/standard conversions and Summit-related trim issues, but they honored their original estimate and also installed my front skid plate. I am happy to have found a local offroad shop with such a professional operation. Looking forward to getting some more kit installed here soon. Thanks guys! read more

Went to these guys for work on an old ranger repair job after initially reaching out to get some modifications done. I was moving out of state after the repairs were to be made only to be told and showed by their staff that they skinned the coating on my break lines and just taped it up even though they had time to fix their mistake. They put the burden on me to try and squeeze time in to bring my truck back in on my dime, costing me money to Uber to work and back and then to their shop. After reviewing the charges and what they installed, they price gouged me and tried to use every penny of the original quote for mods and wheels so as not to lose what i already was willing to pay for prior to finding the problem with truck and subsequently reaching back out to postpone the mods and make repairs. I don't recommend them at all. They weren't honest, they're certainly not honorable and they don't keep their word. read more

I just got a brand new 2020 Ram 2500 Cummins and the first thing I wanted to do was get a leveling kit installed and a few other 'things'. When I walked in, I spoke with Eric and showed him my list of desired mods to my new truck. I told him what I didn't want which in this case was those cheap plastic pucks. After some back and forth discussions about my use case, which is occasional heavy towing, lots of daily driving, and some light off road (rutted dirt roads) - he suggest the Carli Commuter system. Maurice called me a couple of days later and said they Commuter system was sold out, but someone said they'd be able to get the backcountry system in for my install date. When Maurice called me 3 days before my install date and said the guy didn't come through, but he could get me the equivalent ICON setup. We agreed... and I am glad I did. I love love love the way the truck sits, how it rides, and how it looks (minus how small my 33" tires look in the wells now - but I'm getting that rectified soon). In addition to the Icon suspension level, I also had them install air bags for me and the automatic remote compressor. Best purchase EVER. Makes me leveling my load between my trailer and truck a breeze. I was seriously impressed with everything surrounding my experience. Maurice and Eric were super helpful every step of the way. Maurice had me come in for a re-torque, and they got it done on my very tight schedule which is great. The only snafu I had, which was mainly their push to get my suspension installed before I left town was the rock lights I also had installed. They were a gimmicky add for something i'll use only on camping trips - but they tossed them on during the re-torque. So all good to go there. The Phone app and bluetooth connectivity for the rock lights suck, but that is no fault of their own. Lastly, worth noting, that I DIY a significantly and I looked over the work, the wiring of the compressor and lines, and I drug my wife outside to show her my enthusiasm. ANY work I need done for my truck will be through these guys. Don't be put off when you walk into the 'store' - it's not really a show room, it is a working shop, which I totally need and respect. Even going in for the re-torque, Eric rolled out from under a truck, took my keys, and said, they'd call me later that day when they finished. Good job guys. read more

Got a quote for a lift and tires, which I was good with. Heard back that lift kit wouldn't work for my truck afterall. Got a few more, much larger quotes , even taller lifts , which was not something I was comfortable with..so I asked to just go with the biggest possible tire size they said for sure would fit my truck as is. He said okay. I NEVER HEARD BACK from them ! Guess if youre not spending thousands , then you're not worth the business. I checked out 4Wheel Parts in Thousand Oaks , they were amazing! They took care of me! They were professional and polite, got a reasonable quote and I ended up with a lift and tirea after all for the height originally intended. No upselling no BS. read more
