I often order from this place on weekends. Their menu is a bit of a pain to order from in Yelp. (For example you can't order a side of bacon, you can't pick your flavor bagel (you have to type it in), there's no option to order a half a dozen etc.) I've told them about it but found it's easier to order online and pick it up. The bagels are pretty dang close to NYC bagels and for that I'm giving them 5 stars. They are equivalent to Brooklyn bagel water company bagels. read more

Do not go to the Cypress Creek Offerdahl's for breakfast. I ordered 4 different items and everyone complained. Called in order and they said 15min which turned into 40 min after arriving 15min later. There were 3 very very slow people working there. The food was plain awful. I ordered the avocado toast which had a brown overcooked egg on it and the rest was even worse. I come here often for coffee & bagel and have been nothing but impressed. The bagels are tasty and salmon tastes good. I go with the Nova Nosh on a lightly toasted everything bagel. This comes with salmon, cream cheese, red onions, tomatoes and capers. They have several coffee options for regular and decaf along with an iced coffee option, but the taste of the iced coffee is just okay... My personal preference is to fill up a cup with ice and pour the hot coffee over... I never really got any hint of seasoning because it probably dripped off as my bun sadly fell apart. I also got hints of whatever else had been cooking on the grill. Overall the burger was large and hit the mark for filling me up but the grease was too much to bear. Atmosphere was fast and friendly. Good music and volume enough for light conversation. This is one of the worst reaturaunts service wise in all of Pompano Beach. I live very close by to this location and enjoy a nice bagel for breakfast once and a while. Offerdahls in Lighthouse Point ALWAYS lets me down. I have ordered takeout from them at least 20 times and every time they get the order wrong. If getting the order wrong wasn't bad enough they will also tell you it will be ready in say 20 min but it will really take 45 min so then your standing in there waiting for another 25 min. The people working here are completely to blame for all the problems. No one working here cares and they let you know it. When placing the order on the phone even with simple orders they struggle to comprehend what you want (bagle with cream cheese on the side should'nt be hard to understand or soup instead of chips with my sandwhich?) The owner needs to step up in here and start drug testing his workers or something because they make this resturaunt which actaully has pretty good food misserable to eat at or take out from. I would never reccomend this resturaunt to a friend, go to Red Fox or Dandee Donuts if your looking for good experience don't waste your time with Offerdahls. read more

They need to replace the guy with a beard. He's like a robot- seems dead inside. Didn't apologize when he got the order wrong. No emotions expressed. Nothing. And again, he got the order wrong. Made it a very unpleasant visit. Saw same guy another time (African-American guy with beard (mentioning race for identification purposes), and again, he was robotic and unapologetic, this time was after he never updated my online order ti say it was ready. ONE OF THE BEST BLACK BEAN BURGERS I'VE EVER HAD!! I honestly love this place lol The black bean burger is obviously my favorite, especially when ketchup is added. The food is prepared upon request. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth every cent. The employees are very sweet and very helpful! I haven't had an issue or judged when I'm not sure of what to order. I have been ordering chai tea from this offerdahls for 5 years and for the past year it has came to me as STRAIGHT MILK. i mean, I am paying like $7 for milk. It is ridiculous. THE GOOD The service was excellent. I had ordered some steak burger and when I got the meal it came with Cape Cod chips. As I was biting into my delightful sandwich and doing the head nod to whatever my date was saying I realized I could get a different side. I go back to the counter and ask if I can switch up my side. They gladly oblige and even let me sample the other options before I ended up choosing the ginger slaw. As I mentioned before, the steak burger was pleasant. Angels were not singing about it, but it was definitely worthy of taking home if it was not finished there. THE BAD Where my food was good my date's food was blah and blah. We've started getting takeout from this joint frequently at work, as they have lots of healthy, veggie friendly options. I've tried the veggie burger with avocado & cheese, which was DELICIOUS, if a little much for lunch. I didn't exactly feel like & airy after scarfing it down. :) Today I went with a Johnny's house salad, with tofu. It didn't disappoint. Big enough to satisfy me (it takes a lot with salad, I can put that stuff DOWN), and chock full of good bits. All in all, I've loved everything I've had from Offerdahls thus far, so I'll continue to explore the menu. Friendly neighborhood gathering place for a pretty consistent & good bagel. They have a decently exciting menu for a bagel place. They're dog friendly (real dogs, not those damn little bagged up yip dogs) on their outside patio. Every weekend you'll see the same faces, and they're usually friendly (customers that is, the staff is nice). The order was coming out slow so I stepped to the counter and the manager Joe did attend to me until he saw that I was in the way and excuse me sir. That was fine and I approached again and said. When will my order be up it's #--- and it's salmon bowl. And Joe in a you are bothering me tone (my interpretation), "I don't know without going in the back to check." I said, "well would you go back there to check." He say's "yes" and comes back with the plate. I get the Salmon plate and it's looks beautiful. The piece of salmon before I take a bit I can (from over 20 inches away) smell the salmon and it smells fishy like it's bad. So I go up to the register with the plate and Joe comes up and says "what's the matter." I say "the salmon smells fishy" and the the manager says, "correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't fish supposed to smell fishy." I thought oh boy this guy is a hopeless case and I said, "No.....just give me back my money, please." Which they did. :) Lighthouse point or corporate please let me know when you have a new manager, I hope he knows that fish is not supposed to smell fishy, especially salmon. And to Joe, the manager, tell him that when fish smells fishy it means that its chum (low) quality salmon, bad or going bad. I think I'll stick to another office. read more

They were both served with a piece of very chewy and not flavorful pumpernickel bread. Despite my frequenting the place and ordering the same thing day after day, he doesn't seem to remember my order. I get a bagel lox and cream cheese sandwich. Every single day he clarifies whether it's the nova lox sandwich or the one with lox cream cheese. And every single day I have to tell him that, just like everyone who orders a "bagel lox and cream cheese," I want a giant slab of smoke lox in between two deliciously toasted bagels. So, in that sense, it doesn't feel like a very friendly location. But whatever... the food is pretty decent. UPDATE: After complete renovation, I converted from breakfast semi-regular to a lunch regular. I'm a huge fan of the SALMON B-L-T (grilled salmon, romaine, tomatoes, peppered maple bacon, chipotle fennel sauce, brioché bun). It's messy, it's yummy. The new vibe is grilled food with craft beer & wine. I enjoy outside dining as much as in. OLD REVIEW 4/4/2016 I think the food is even better now than years ago. Jon brought his grillin' expertise to the cafe's and it's really good. Hale to Kale with grilled salmon today was terrific! I've eaten here enough over the years that if I show up on a weekend morning they're already grabbing a POWER ROLL to go for me. About others comments: Agree with Elizabeth- great location and I always see someone I know. It's clean and the staff is friendly and professional. There have been some changes over time. Things have not always been perfect, but they made it right, and I've been there enough to know problems are the exception, not the norm. Not sure about reduced salad size.
