I am a 55-year-old disabled person and an Office Depot Rewards member. I placed a curbside order at this location expecting the service that was advertised. After waiting almost 20 minutes in my car, no one ever came out with my order. When I called and asked for assistance, the call was abruptly hung up on me. I then went inside to speak with a manager, but was told the manager was either "on a break" or unavailable, and no one would help. Staff told me directly, "we deal with a lot of customers besides you" and that they were too busy to bring orders outside. This completely defeats the purpose of offering curbside pickup, especially for customers like me who rely on it. I ended up leaving without my paid order, extremely upset and disappointed. Office Depot should not advertise curbside service if they refuse to honor it. This was dismissive, rude, and discriminatory treatment of a disabled customer, and I will not be shopping at this location again. I was at the Berkeley location and I believe that I referred to it being sad and depressing. But what they did have was someone to greet me and answer my questions. But my gripe started before I entered. This place has a parking lot that is strewn with bird excrement! So much so that I parked in the Michael's lot and walked over. It's everywhere and for the life of me, I don't know why. But what blew me away was the bird feathers in the entryway. It was kind of gross! Not the feathers from the outside of the bird, but the downy, inner feathers. Ewww... And I imagine there was excrement there that I couldn't see. And no one bothered picking it up. Shit, this store has an attitude problem. I would think that since this store is out of the way and seems like one day it would close, that the staff would at least have good customer service. The girl at the printing area rolled their eyes and seemed upset to help me with a question. I was not even rude. The place is confusing and the people act like you should know how to navigate the store. The order pick up is not intuitive like target where you wait in line to pick it up, literally someone can steal my shit at the front when it's like a chipotle order. Some items are more expensive than amazon, so I guess they do have price match but if the employees have attitude problem forget about trying to have them help you. This is the first and only time I go here for anything. I rather go to target or amazon to get my stationary supplies and stick to online orders for Office Depot. I needed to print a document while on the road. So I brought a USB key to this copy center. They have 2 self service machines and neither would read my two keys, a 64GB and a 128GB. I can't determined whether the port was damaged or there is a 32GB size limitation. There is an email option so I decided to give that a try. Uploaded the document via email and they sent back a code. They give you 24 hours before this document will be deleted. I came in yesterday, but not for myself. My boss wanted a specific kind of paper that Office Depot had shown online, that they had in their store. When I got to the store, only half of the employees were wearing masks, even though they had shown that masks were required for guests. I wore mine either way. Anyways, I had asked one of the employees about where this item would be, and he took me to a place where it was all sold out. He said he would check back stock, but there was nothing there. I asked him if there would be that item at any other store, but he said he didn't know. Usually with these kind of stores they will check for you. But he seemed disinterested. Then I asked one of the other employees where the tape was. He just pointed me in different directions, and since I don't go so often, I had no idea where he was pointing me. I had a great experience at this Office Depot, all thanks to Jeff (which I think I saw is the General Manager). I came in looking for a specific chair, which they had in stock but not on display. Jeff quickly offered to unbox and build one so that I could try it out. Wow, I did not expect that high bar of service. Jeff built it within about 7 minutes. He then left me to try it out for awhile, and then came back and we talked about the product and he gave his experiences with it. Overall, super great experience thanks to Jeff! Free shipping and price matching online. Here are some things that could have been improved: 1) No bike parking :( I had to park across the street at Decathlon 2) Many customers took the display chairs to sit down waiting in the tech support line (which was slow - glad I didn't need that). Despite being in the store for 30 minutes, the same person was still in the other chair I wanted to try. Okay, I have been pleasantly surprised by the stellar customer service I got here on several recent visits. I had someone come over and offer to help me. I asked them for something, and they proved to be knowledgeable and straightforward, helped me find what I was looking for and/or went into the back to find what I wanted and/or gave me good advice. Since this was over the course of a couple of months, I have to admit that I didn't notice if it was always the same guy - maybe there is only one really good guy there, but if so, he is on top of things. Office Depot and Office Max have merged and they have tech services and we have taken our Dell Inspiron and laptop to have them diagnosed and repaired and we have always had good service. Our son had a desktop and laptop which he no longer used so we took it to have the desktop diagnosed and cleaned up (as son never used antivirus software and Windows 10 and McAfee installed. Now we had the laptop charged and will buy charger for the laptop as well as have it cleaned and install Windows 10 so it will be ready to use again by me! Wayne and Alvin are the tech specialists and are always friendly and knowledgeable. Will take the laptop back to clean up and install the new software once I order the charger. read more

Nothing spectacular about this location. Finding someone to help you can be like playing Where's Waldo. But if you know what you're looking for then it should be easy. You can also order online and pick it up in the store like i did. I bought some ink for my printer. And now that I know i have the option to order ahead and pick up, I will do that every time. The employees tried to make me wait in line but I reminded them that I had already paid online and am just picking up my order and stated that the website says that allow online ordering for the ability to not wait in line. My friend needed some things for her office employees so we stopped into the Office Depot after dinner--not exactly what I wanted to do on a Saturday night, but whatever ;) We had an easy time parking, there was really no one else there. We were concerned that they might be closed, but nope...automatic doors opened right up for us to come in and browse. She needed hanging file folders, tape dispensers, a 2015 calendar, ink cartridges, etc. We found a really awesome service professional, Raquel, to help us on our journey. She made us laugh and also buy some stuff we might not have needed...that is a good employee ;) She even awarded us with some $10 off coupons for our next purchase--which sounded great because we did have separate purchases. I had some things I needed for school that we paid separately from the office purchases. We pulled the $10 off coupon from the bag and proceeded to hand it to Raquel for my purchase and it would not work--for some reason. She read the "fine print" and there it was: not good on printer cartridges, among other things. Oh well. Not Raquel's fault for sure. She was actually the only good thing about this Office Depot. This is for customer service. Wayne and Alvin are amazing! I brought in some old paperweights running Windows XP. They put in serious effort to revive these enough to rescue my data (photos and recipes all mushy memorabelia type stuff). This is what happens when your 20GB external hard drive takes a powder and then you let ANY backup subscriptions lapse. My external hard drive was a foul beast with a number etched upon it signalling thr end of days! Never just trust one backup! Never! Ye shall rue the day!!! I digress. These guys are beyond awesome. Very rude and unprofessional customer service, although the store seems well-stocked on the surface. Long story short: The staff behaved pretty friendly at first but after I exited the place without considering buying anything, I got followed in the parking by a stout staff member who asked me back an "item". After explaining that I did not understand what it was all about, and forthcomingly displaying my bag and pockets, he kept mumbling about that "item" and we got back inside the store. To carry on his bad faith joke, he picked a box on the shelf, ripped it open only to discover that everything was amazingly here, brand new. Then, nothing, not a single apology. He was just stuttering, and I just had to left lamenting of such a behavior. I mean, what would happen if they had viciously removed that item? The situation felt to me horribly uncomfortable. As a UCB student, I've been a regular customer from Office Depot, but in this case I would solely recommend to avoid this shop and his deceitful staff. Not to recall that a few years ago an employee from the same Hollis St store took in hostage his co-workers there in a robbery attempt. It seems like they never train their staff to know how to show moral conduct and communicate with customers. I'll try not to come here as of now. If you need office supplies, I can only recommend to drive to Staples or order from Amazon and forgo the rudeness and lack of customer service. They had what I needed.. that's nothing out of the ordinary. The extraordinary part was when I lost a business receipt and went in to see if I could get a copy. The transaction was a couple weeks ago and a manager came out and sorted through the records to find it. I was happy about that otherwise I would've had to eat a couple hundred dollars of business charges myself, and this happened on a Tuesday at 5pm when they were getting a little busy at the registers.
