I said I would never use them again and I did. They opened my pool and left it dirty. They told me to use a bush to clean up the dirt. They told me to back wash it and I could not turn the handle. They never tested the water. I called them about it and they never called back. I bought a pool robot at the store and I lost the power source. I asked them if they could order me one and they never did. I do not know how they are in business with their attitude. They do not care about their customers. They installed our liner in the fall of 2012. We had one good year. In 2014 our pool started leaking. For three years they never found the leak and never returned our calls. In 2016, they said leave us alone. So I continued to add water. This year, we found the leak right in the beauty strip where the had patched nearby 3 times We paid another company to fix it and we want Offshore to stand by their work and access the damage of 5 years of leaking. Absolutely the worst customer service experience we've ever had with any contractor ever, and we've used many over the years. Unresponsive, condescending, poor workmanship, lack of supervision, bully tactics and flat-out liars. Don't use them unless you want to be frustrated and disappointed. Even their own subcontractors tell you how bad they are and how they lie to try to cover up their own mistakes. Honestly don't know how they stay in business. read more

This rating is for service. The pool and coping was installed by Offshore 3 years ago, every single service matter we have had with them has been an absolute nightmare. Their techs are unfriendly, their service manager even less of a pleasure to speak with. They charge more than many other companies to open and close and I feel I do half of the job. They do anything possible not to come out and help on hand because they are constantly short staffed. The first year the pool was opened we were losing a lot of water. I called and called knowing there was a bigger issue and they advised to fill it up! So I did! After 3-4 days of filling I insisted there be a better solution and in fact there was a leak found in the liner. First, Offshore denied their was a leak due to the newness of the pool and after that did everything possible to blame our concrete paver contractor. In order to convince Offshore that it was close to impossible for a paver to sink to the bottom of the pool fast enough to rip a hole in a liner they convinced me was highly durable I had to review over a hundred hours of security footage at our home to prove that it in fact was not the paver contractor. Once that was done they finally agreed to replace it. Imagine that on a brand new pool...! The second issue we are now having is with the coping. Offshore rushed in here at their convenience before my paver contractor could lay his base and we are now having pavers sinking immediately around their coping. AGAIN they blame the contractor, although the contractor has now come out two years in a row to fix the problem at no charge. My contractor can stick his entire hand underneath the work of offshores coping around THE ENTIRE POOL!! This is detrimental to the integrity of the coping and our paver walkway. It is estimated $2500 to fix the problem that they take no responsibility for even though it is immediately under their work, not the pavers. Again, Offshore claims no responsibility or even offer to come out to see the situation in person. The problem is, they have too many easy customers that just keep coming back. Even I feel stuck with them as I don't want to mess with the warranty on the equipment. Once we surpass the 5 year mark and the warranty possibility is over I will never do business with them again. Do not buy from Offshore Pools. I have had so many problems with this company since they installed my $50,000 pool a few months ago. When you complain that no one comes to fix the issue they tell you they will never come back and they "fire" you as a client. Trust me, if you use them and equipment isn't working don't expect to see them again nor do they honor your contract or guarantee. The owner and the managers are rude and unprofessional! We had Offshore Pools put in our in our 36 x 34 pool in October of 2011. The pool, linear, steps are as good are as the day they were installed. We had a heater added on in 2014 and that had worked perfectly. They have a warranty that transfers one time to the next owner so that's nice to have too. At the time Offshore came in the lowest in cost compared to the other 6 companies we had come by for estimates. Jennifer in the office is always very nice to deal with too. I would definitely recommend Offshore Pools. read more

My pool was installed by Offshore 28 yrs. ago. 12 yrs after install I had to replace the liner and the patch job of the vermiculite was terrible but the new liner was already in (April) and did not get into the pool until June and felt how bad it was. Also when I called to complain about it I was told by Mike the owner that Pete told him I was not at home the day they came (A LIE I was home the entire day) and so he could not discuss with me that I really needed a total skim coat not just a patch job. Fast forward 16 yrs. I stopped by the store today to get another quote for a new liner and the girl put me in a room to pick out a new liner and have a girl named Jenn come see me. Almost 15 minutes later no one had shown up so I got up and left. I won't give them a third try that is for sure!! Stopped in at Carlton Pools on Rte. 9 in Toms River and they were wonderful. read more

I was always more a beach person going to the beach almost very weekend in the summer but this summer with our resort like backyard and beautiful pool I only went a few times ! Our entire experience with off shore was a pleasure. From our consultation with Mike - our start date they came exactly when promised. It was a pleasure working with Matt who came back in the Spring and worked closely with us to create our dream patio. Absolutely disgusting customer service, the owner Mike is rude and abrasive. Not only do they not fulfill their promises/contracts but every time they step on your property they come with their hands out asking for money. The job was completed later than promised and there were many issues along the way. The second there is an issue they can not be contacted and they will dodge you until you hopefully go away. A complete disgrace and will never use their services again. Ironically it would seem we are not the only people with the same issues. Avoid at all expenses. read more

Offshore built our pool this past fall and my wife and I couldn't be happier. Everything went smooth and Mike & Jeff were always available to answer our questions and concerns. They gave us a schedule and never altered. Everything happened when they told us and we were never surprised. Opened our pool a few weeks ago and stayed in contact with us. Cleaned it and trained me. Pool looks incredible and we look forward to many great summers ahead. read more

Beautiful work! We had an in-ground pool installed over the summer. My husband is a contractor and had no problems with any of their work. Offshore Pools rectified or addressed any concerns immediately. They've been in business for a long time, this is one of the reasons why we chose them. I had multiple pool companies come out to our house for estimates. Once your pool is under construction, communication is mainly through emails since they don't sit in the office all day, they are out building pools. However, they respond immediately. I never do reviews but they've more than earned it. I know an in-ground pool is a huge financial investment but you can feel confident if you choose them. We highly recommend them. We would choose them all over again. The whole Offshore team up to and including Matt, Jeff, and Mike were highly experienced, knowledgeable and did quality work! Original review June, 2012 The following is an account of our experience with a company called "Offshore Pools" based in Brick, NJ. We hired them to install a large in ground pool about 8 years ago. Please see my review from about 9 months ago posted elsewhere(and see the update following the review)I will post pictures if possible: "We hired Offshore to build our higher-end pool. They acted like our best friends until they made the sale....after that we were just a number to them. Despite all the proper maintenance, within just a few months the liner began pulling out of the corners. They said it was "normal". We believe the liner was incorrectly installed. A stone "waterfall" from the hot tub section to the main pool developed leaks that caused excessive water loss. The outer wall tiles of the hot tub portion fell off. Worst of all, the concrete patio they constructed developed deep, full-thickness cracks requiring removal and re-pouring of an entire section (at our cost). Now, two other sections have also developed similar large cracks. Three years after they built the pool, the township called us and informed us that Offshore never obtained a permit and we were threatened with a fine. We had to call Offshore and demand that they remedy the situation. No explanation or apology was forthcoming. The last straw was calling them several times in the spring of 2011 to schedule repairs and an opening. No call-back. No response. No service. I will never give them my business again and would strongly recommend that others avoid this company as well. There are other, better pool companies out there. It just takes some research and face-to-face discussion with the owners to weed out the incompetent and the negligent ones. Good luck. See my other reviews for my recommendation." UPDATE We are currently in the process of having the concrete repaired by a more reliable pool company. When the new contractor removed the concrete poured by Offshore no reinforcing wire mesh to strengthen the material. As a result, according to our new contractor, the concrete developed horrendous full-thickness fractures and heaved so much that there are now areas where the concrete is cracked and lifted 2 or more inches and others where the concrete has sunken. In addition, the paver coping was found to have no significant concrete footing (see photo)and as a result the coping pavers became undermined and had absolutely no support and sunk down. The cement joints between the coping pavers separated and the pavers began to slant downward and then to sink. Thirdly, Offshore failed to construct or to even recommend a French drain that should have been placed in order to divert ground water away from the pool area. The current contractor tells us that such a drain would have likely prevented the above problems to a large degree. In summary, our current contractor told us that the structural problems we are experiencing are a direct result of the failure to use reinforcing wire mesh, failure to place a concrete footing under the coping and failure to construct(or to recommend)a French drain to divert ground water away from the pool area. As noted above, several prior attempts to get Offshore to respond to this situation were unsuccessful. Our calls were not returned. The repair to our pool is costing us $10,000. We would advise avoiding Offshore Pools at all costs. read more

They opened pool, the intake did not work. Called for a week to get someone out. They did not fix it and told to call back. Over a month, no call back, no service. They don't answer the service number and don't call back. Went to the store and they said they can't fix it. DON'T USE THEM. read more

They became involved in my pool as part of a hardscaping project; that contractor suggested Offshore. They replaced the liner, new edging and new steps, some new plumbing. Did a very good job. When we started up the pool that coincided with when the town was flushing hydrants and we ended up with BROWN water. They brought in an additional filter and spent several days fixing a problem that wasn't theirs. Had a couple of instances where water was doing weird things over the summer and they've helped get those things fixed. I've found them to be pleasant and responsive. read more
