Freddo cappuccino

Hidden gem inside a strip mall serving up delicate European pastries and coffee. Pros: - Service: As soon as we walked in we were greeted and any questions we had answered. - Coffee: very good. Right about of espresso, milk, and ice blended into a delicious concoction. - Tart: heavenly. Not to sweet with the right amount of lemon. - Atmosphere: great vibe. Lots of room for sitting and a large sofa which makes you feel right at home. There are also two small tables outside, perfect for outdoor coffee dates. I've got no cons. Support local and stop by!

Fresh bake croissant and more

Local bakery which is often overlooked. Recently renovated which adds a nice cafe touch. Try the chocolate croissant, or a pistachio muffins. I take home the fresh rye for my roast beef sandwich, but make sure you check the freshness. Customer service is ok. I'm gonna give it a four because I have no other bakery but Publix.

Ordered quiche, and it wasn't good. I wouldn't come back. I should have probably opted for the pastries or crepes.

Everything I have had from here is great. The quiches are amazing and I would highly recommend! Not pictured but all of their cheesecakes are fresh and very flavorful as well.

Apple strudel. FYI - their cherry croissant is more like a danish. Not flaky buttery croissant style.

Yay, another bakery to add to our local list. Their downtown location on Main St is just too busy and so service can be slow. This location is a nicely kept secret to get the same delicious pastries and a quieter cafe to eat at. Cherry croissants, apple strudels, all their croissants actually Need to try their poppyseed Euro bread one day.

Amazing desert selection!

Great little coffee and pastry shop in downtown Sarasota. Very friendly staff and comfortable decor. We ordered 2 deserts and were more than happy with them. The coffees were fantastic as well. We will definitely return for the after dinner desert in a very relaxing environment. Thank you

Was there with a friend. All pastries and cakes were old and it didn't look like in the photo.. Macaroons were not tasty. Terrible place.

Just... wow! The moment you enter, you are embraced by a cascade of twinkling fairy lights that shimmer like stardust against a twilight sky. Fresh flowers bloom in every corner, their sweet fragrance mingling with the comforting aroma of steeping tea and freshly baked cakes. The menu is a delightful symphony of flavors, with each dish crafted as if by fairy hands. The tea sandwiches are dainty yet satisfying, their ingredients so fresh they seem to have been gathered from a mystical garden just moments before. The salads are vibrant and bursting with life, each leaf and garnish adding to the overall tapestry of flavors. And, of course, the cakes! The cakes are tiny works of art, each bite a burst of sweetness that leaves you floating on clouds of pure bliss. Even the soups, served in charming little teacups, are more than just a meal--they are comfort and warmth, a gentle embrace on a slow afternoon. Each spoonful is like a chapter in a story you never want to end. In this enchanting restaurant, you don't just dine--you dream. Every moment here feels like a stolen piece of a fairy tale, and you'll find yourself lingering, not wanting to break the spell. Whether you come alone to sip tea and read by the soft glow of the fairy lights or with friends to share laughter over a tray of delicate sandwiches, you'll leave with your heart a little lighter and your spirit a little brighter. To say that the owner of this enchanting establishment is just as magical as the place she's created would be an understatement. Kathryn is the heart and soul of this fairy-tale haven, a living embodiment of the kindness and beauty that fills every corner of her restaurant. Her presence is like a gentle breeze, warm and soothing, making everyone who walks through the door feel instantly at home. Her generosity is evident not just in the thoughtful touches that make each visit special--like the fresh flowers that greet you at every table or the extra care taken to ensure each dish is perfect--but in the way she treats each guest like an old friend. There's a sweetness in her smile that makes you feel as though you've known her for years, and a gentle warmth in her words that wraps around you like a comforting blanket. She moves with a quiet grace, always attentive, yet never intrusive. Whether she's offering a kind word, making sure your tea is just right, or sharing a delightful story, she does so with a lightness that leaves you feeling cherished and cared for. It's clear that this restaurant is more than just a business to her--it's a labor of love, a place where she pours her heart into every detail. In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, the owner's presence is a reminder of the beauty of kindness and the power of a generous spirit. She has created not just a restaurant, but a sanctuary--a place where time slows down, and you can savor not just the food, but the warmth of human connection. To dine here is to be touched by her sweetness, and to leave with your heart a little fuller, your day a little brighter. Thank you, Kathryn, for creating such a beautiful safe haven for all who enter. As long as this establishment is standing, I will be there in attendance.

I will always Stan C'est La Vie in Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch. This location is always busy so get…read morethere early if you have your eyes on a specific pastry. Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

It's a small, quaint spot with an amazing atmosphere, but definitely be prepared to wait if you're coming for brunch it's very popular for a reason! The wait was absolutely worth it, though. I started with a cappuccino, and it was perfection rich, smooth, and exactly what you need to wake up. For food, the savory crepe was outstanding. It had that perfect authentic texture slightly crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. I also tried the cauliflower soup, which was a surprising highlight. It was incredibly creamy and flavorful honestly, one of the best soups I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this gem if you're in the area!
