With a new addition to the family tree, after a lull in the branching department, the wife invited me to stop here with her. I was amazed at all the baby and toddler items available, in excellent condition(s), at very good prices. Needless to say we have picked up some baby items to have around our house when the wee one comes to visit. The wife has returned many times over the past several months picking up clothing items. This, to me, is the perfect way to buy nice clothes at very reasonable prices. We are glad people "recycle" clothing like this. We all know that babies / toddlers don't wear these clothing items but for a short time. It's not like an older kid who can wear a shirt or pair of pants for a year or more. I have scanned these reviews and the few, very few, complain about the owner's poor disposition at times. She has responded to those complaints and if anyone takes the time to read them it totally makes sense to me / us. She has young children and babies of her own! I / we can get grumpy at times, too, from lack of sleep, ill wee ones, etc. This doesn't mean I / we are hating on people. Besides, I'm not there to make BFFs with management. I'm there to look around and maybe buy something. Get a grip, have some understanding (common sense) or grow some thicker skin. Geeeezzzz... As an end to this issue we have never felt disrespected by the owner or employees, even when we recognized they might be distressed by any of the aforementioned issues. Also, a couple folks complain about the prices. We find them very reasonable, especially compared to retail. For a baby / toddler resale store we give this the 5 star rating. Bought a onesie, cardigan, and a beanie. Sadly, the cardigan and beanie both had holes in them. Everything was a little bit expensive. The total for all 3 was $38. I visited twice, and the first time I talked to the owner, and the second time I visited, I spoke with her mom. They both were not welcoming. I asked a simple question to the mom about the store, and she said, "It's not worth opening one. There's no money in this business." I was shocked. I was there with my boyfriend a couple days ago we were gonna buy baby clothes which we already had them on our hands and also a mamaroo swing but there was a couple with 3 little girls trying to buy baby clothes for there dolls, when the couple got in line with there girls they were taking there time making the girls pay by there own one by one and the person at the register taking her time too talking to them, then the other person just approached to us just to ask us to follow them in Facebook, I was in like for 15 minutes waiting for the girls to finish and by that time only one girl finished the transaction and keep in mind it was another two that need to make a purchase too, the owners didn't care about us waiting we ended leaving all the stuff and leave which also the owners didn't care or apologize, I will no go back. I came to this place today with my 2 year old and the place was empty. There were no other customers and the owner was outside having a conversation with someone. Her grandson suddenly walked in and she walked in after him aggressively yelling at him. He seemed confused as to why she was screaming at him which made her yell more. She looked over at my son and I but didn't say a word. My son sat on the floor playing with a toy that was already there and as soon as she walked by him she stared him down the entire time, as if he was doing something wrong. I can't believe I forgot to review this shop! We were in town a few months ago for my husband's work and I had time to kill. Early in my pregnancy and just spending a lot of money on IVF, I wanted to see if there were any affordable gems here and spend some time out of the hotel. It's probably good that I waited to review because I have now been to quite a few secondhand baby stores, and this one was my favorite. It had plenty of stock but was not too crammed to shop or walk. There's a decent variety of items and brands, so the owner is definitely selective of what they purchase from people and how much I would assume, which translates to a better customer experience. The clothing available is dramatically cuter and in better shape than all the other secondhand stores I've been to now. I also appreciate that pricing was very reasonable. The owner was there the day I shopped and she was quite friendly and not overly helpful which can be annoying. Just the right balance and she seemed passionate about her business and knowledgeable. This place is a joke, completely unreasonable sets of "rules". They are only open from 11-4:30 and you have to call for same day appointments to bring anything in. This is very difficult for mothers with babies and small children to begin with. I tried calling at 11:00 and the phone kept being busy. I decided to just drive over and see where it is. I don't think it's unreasonable to go in person to make an appointment. But I was told I needed to go outside and call, can't make in person appointments. Seriously? No way to treat people seeing how you depend on good quality stuff to sell. I will take my business elsewhere. I'm extremely offended by such snobby behavior. Prices are a little pricier compared to a garage sale or goodwill but everything is in excellent clean condition. Everything you would need for a baby is here- clothes, bottles, strollers, bassinets, swings, jumpers. There are also some new items for sale- shoes, bows, etc. The bows were overpriced at $4 each. Nice strollers in excellent condition. If I didn't already have one I would have considered buying one. Store is nicely organized. I wish they had one of these close to where I live. The new owner is trying to make this store a great place to purchase items at a decent price. I always come in to shop for an holiday shirts, special events at school or matching holiday outfit items. Never had a bad experience here with the previous owner and now the new owner! Stop by and check it out. In the times I have been in the store, parents let their kids destroy the toy area. Some kids break toys, ride toys, hang on shelves and throw toys everywhere. If you are one of those parents that allows your child to do this then please don't comment negatively about this business. It is a business not a daycare or park. It's amazing that most of the nasty reviews on here are from entitled people who only bash businesses. I went and looked at the reviews they post for other places, most negative. I'm all about writing a review to share your experience but if all your experiences are negative the common denominator is you. Small businesses have it harder than large conglomerates so shop those small shops and please be kind! You can't expect kindness, if you are unkind. I was unaware of how to sell at this children's store, I came on Sunday and Monday, the store was closed. when I came in on Tuesday the owner of the store told me very rudely I had to come back on Saturday, while her son cried the entire time in the back. I said are you the owner I only have one item, which was heavy for a grandmother. I told her I've been trying to find this store open and was unaware it closes these two days. She was very short to me and belted out rudely... I have a life!! and I find your comment of the store being closed insulting. First of all she has no personality and to be a store owner. I looked at her and said I did not intend to be insulting and told her I was sorry. She said I needed to leave, she went into the back while her son continued to scream! 2nd, she needs to be respectful to her customers or pretty soon she will not have any. I attempted to try this store out but unfortunately the woman working there wasn't having it. As soon as I walked in, I heard someone yell, "do you have an appointment?!!"...then I finally see the employee. I replied, "no, I don't", feeling very confused as to what's going on. Isn't this a shop that sells baby items? I don't know if she thought I was there to sell or buy since it's a 2nd hand store. The fact is that she didn't even ask me. As I stood there at the doorway, she yelled, "next appointment is Friday! Same day appointment only so call Friday at 11am!"...I was still trying to figure out what is going on. Shopped around this small cramped store for 15 minutes as the employee walked past me and was hanging baby clothes up directly next to me and didn't say a word. Maybe I was invisible. Also, the owner was talking to the lady checking out and geez the owner is such a loud mouth her voice echoed through the store. She also had her crying son with her who was just whining the whole time as she talked to him. Maybe she was forgetting she's a business owner and this is t the most appropriate thing to forget you have customer around as you try to deal with your child the whole time. I brought my items to the front and she was trying to hold her son and she couldn't even ring up my items I had to unhang them for her and hand them to her as she was balancing the scanner and her son. I had what must be a typical visit including use of their changing table in the bathroom and picking up a new highchair. The bathroom was clean and 100% ready for use as was the highchair. The staff was friendly and kind while my 14 month old slowly and quietly attempted to take apart the store one toy at a time. All of the stores items were clean/gently used with quite a few items I thought were very cute and affordable for my daughter but she had enough of them at home at the moment. Wouldn't recommend . Not only do they barely give you anything for your items, the owner doesn't greet you /acts as though you are an inconvenience to her. So rude. I understand you're busy, you have kids in your shop , however, it's the sellers and the people who buy items from you - that keep your store afloat. It's so disrespectful to not be friendly. Looking through other reviews, I see I'm not the only one that felt as though I was an inconvenience to the owner, Amber. Also , when I sold my items here , I decided that I wanted to keep my brand new never used ergo 360(as I could have gotten way more money for it selling it somewhere else), I did make this decision after she cut me a check , but as a seller, I'm entitled to change my mind. I told the owner that I actually wanted to keep my ergo 360 and asked if she'd issue me a new check. She ROLLED her eyes at me (my mother was standing with me and witnessed this as well) and said "ugh well I will have to redo the whole thing." I'm sorry but it's not that big of a deal to deduct what you were going to pay me for the carrier and re issue me a new check . After she wrote the new check she turned away and did not say another word to me. She looked MAD. Who treats their customers that way? I bought items that day as well. I will never return and will be sure to warn everyone I know NOT to come in to a place where they are treated like dirt. Stop making excuses , Amber, and start treating your customers with respect. If you cannot have good customer service , maybe you should take a class on it. Really felt like I was an inconvenience at this shop. Owners husband or employee pushed past me coming in with his lunch, a friend or regular customer couldn't wait to get past me but, couldn't be bothered to say excuse me, then the shops little daughter even almost ran into me. I get that Saturdays must be busy, and the shop is small, and they are a resale boutique, but, come on ...the clothes, like the osh cosh overalls were wrinkled on the their July 4th rack, their Thomas the train toy was dirty and to get even one question in inquiring about a specific item I had to interrupt the owners lengthy conversion with the friend mentioned earlier. To add insult to injury, as I was leaving other customers were asked if they needed help and I'd browsed most of the shop without being asked if I needed anything. I really wanted to visit this shop ever since I found out I was pregnant last year, I'd driven by it for awhile and wanted to a support local business. I came in to sell my double bumbleride stroller ($900 retail) and she told me upfront before bringing it in that she cannot resell those for retail prices and to be prepared for a lower offer. I brought the stroller in along with some clothes and toys. She was kind, offered me some for the stroller but was confident enough in her business that she told me to try and sell it on my own first, cause she thought I could get more than what she'll give me. I had a great experience here! I was greeted at the door and a sales associate helped direct me to the sizing area I was looking for. The owner was nothing but nice to me and I ended up buying $40 worth of things! I got compression socks, disposable burp cloths, a baby journal, outlet protectors, a mini book, and some clothes! I even spotted a bamboo sleeper while checking out and the owner was kind enough to let me take it off her inventory rack to buy. I've bought from here several times & have sold once because I like the idea of recycling clothes. Some of my favorite pieces of clothes for children I've gotten from here. But, I think I'm going to start going to another consignment store to shop... somewhere where I'm more tolerated. I was hesitant to explain my 1 star review but after seeing a couple reviews of basically saying what I was thinking I'm gonna go for it. Every time I go there the owner looks at me like I'm a human sized cockroach that she's obligated to deal with. I smile, say hi- same stink face. Everything is clean and looks brand new. And some is new which either way you cannot tell. First of all, I love this consignment shop. Staff has been very helpful anytime I've come. The shop is small and crowded but full of goodies. My only suggestion to the shop owners would be to adjust (or add) hours if possible. As a working mom, it's been almost impossible to get here due to the hours. Not opening until 11 and then closing at 4:30 M-F makes weekdays not an option and it's closed Sundays. Saturdays are the only option left and we all know what Saturdays can be like with kids and sports and other activities. I've literally been trying to get here for over 3 weeks now and can't make it happen. read more
