My orange chicken had 0% chicken inside, just fried gross small nuggets that you can eat. My BBQ chicken turned out to have teriyaki sauce on it and I had an allergic reaction and went to hospital. The manager refused to refund or fix my order the next day so I called my bank and a lawyer. Won $100,000. Avoid this place it's literally dangerous!

Finally, a new Hawaiian BBQ spot in San Rafael--and it does not disappoint! The BBQ chicken is a standout: marinated to perfection, packed with flavor, and incredibly tender. The portions are generous, making it a great value for the price. If you're craving island comfort food done right, this place is a must-try. You really have to taste it to believe it.

Inside everything looked clean, service was good. I got the Katsu plate and some Crab Rangoons. The Katsu was very dry and tough, way overcooked. The Rangoons didn't come with any sauce :(, Rangoons with no sauce aren't very good. I won't be going back, food was a huge strike out.

My order 2 scoops of macaroni salad But no chicken katsu that I was charged for and didn't rec

I ordered through door dash for pick up everything was fine but I'm missing a whole chicken katsu plate. Instead of going through door dash and making it a hassle I called and was completely rational explained I just opened it when I got home. The employee then told me "well I don't have an extra order so have a good night" and hung up. Terrible customer handling skills. Door dash won't give me a refund because it was a pick up and their staff doesn't care enough to meet in any middle ground

The restaurant was fairly clean. I'm guessing the area that wasn't may have just been occupied and they hadn't had a chance yet. I wanted some katsu and galbi. I told the very helpful gentleman at the register and he suggested bbq katsu mix. But when I looked closer at the menu I realized it didn't have galbi. So he changed it to the Hawaiian Bbq mix. I thought he suggested that because it had katsu and galbi. When I got home I thought they forgot the katsu but realized there was no combo that had both. So once I came to terms with the fact that I did not have katsu, I tasted everything. It was delicious. All the meats were tender and tasty. The sauces were good over the rice and meats. The portions were great for the price. I would definitely get again but next time forgo the galbi to taste the katsu. Can't give a 5 because I have had better but it was good and I would get again. 4.5 if it was possible.

Chicken katsu was crispy but the macaroni salad was basic. Quick service but I wish they put a little moreintoe into their food quality.

The food is fresh, flavorful and you get plenty of it. Plus, it's cheaper than a flight to Hawaii.

A couple of outdoor areas, some under shade with picnic tables. Located in Marin County, California, The Lodge in Fairfax is an iconic, historic establishment built in 1908 by the Arbini and Segale families as The Old Timer's Saloon, serving as the town's very first bar. After years of being utilized differently, the building underwent an extensive two-year restoration. The owners of the San Francisco bike shop Big Swingin' Cycles purchased the property, upgrading its infrastructure, adding a kitchen, and building a large, dog-friendly outdoor beer garden. You get that feeling that you really are at a lodge at the lake in Wisconsin. At least for a minute, it brings back memories. However, in place of the white and red pine trees are the gorgeous redwoods providing shade. Nice tap beer list with healthy portions served. I had the mushroom tacos, vegetarian style with a little salad and chips $10 and a half a beer. My lunch mate had the summer salad with chicken added $25 bucks which is a little steep, but certainly enough for two people. Served in a very large bowl. It's quite impressive. I would forgo the protein and save the six bucks extra. Great spot, great service, great ambience, great food, and beer. Walk, drive your car, or bicycle in. There are a bike racks and some parking on site.

This location in greater San Rafael is a bit out of my way, but a recent trip to Marin was an opportunity to make up for the lost. Located in a business center, parking here is not an issue and they were not particularly busy on a Sunday night. We were seated immediately, noticing how clean and modern the two-story gastropub looks. The food menu is more or less pub food, executed well. Mango-habanero wings were crispy and came with two dipping sauces, both delicious. We also tired the pretzel, which is on a smaller size, so next time I'll take our server's suggestion and order two. It also came with mustard and cheese for dipping. All their burgers are more or less a la carte: no fries, but chips and house pickle on the side. The burgers were fine though, with smash being smaller, but a bit tastier than their signature Monk's burger. Simplicity is sometimes the best. The beer list is expertly curated with focus on other styles besides IPA, but I assume that Russian River's Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig are always on the menu, in addition to ultra-local options. For pub fare, Monk's Kettle is a bit pricy, which is not totally unexpected in today's economy-especially knowing the area. However, elevated food, drinks, and service quality usually comes with the elevated price tag. We might not be back next time in Marin, but this was surely not the last visit to Monk's.

I'm allergic to seafood, so my mind just goes blank. I can tell you that the meal was enjoyed. I tried the Club Wrap which was delightful, and added a side of brussel sprouts that were savory and a tad too salty, but good. They offer outdoor dining, bar service and an area upstairs as well. It's a fairly large restaurant with great menu options. There are two huge televisions which thankfully didn't have the volume up on. The server was very attentive but not overly bothersome which was a bonus.

Attached to The Boardroom restaurant, The Speakeasy is a real find featuring a wonderfully robust appetizer menu, a full bar, and a daily happy hour menu that applies mostly to alcohol purchases. If you're looking for wine here, the bar offers a variety, with the house wines - excellently priced at $8-$9/glass - comprised fully of Rutherford grown grapes. Somebody here knows what's up. A friend who'd talked up The Speakeasy for years is besotted by the Marsala Sautéed Chicken Livers ($11) on the bar menu. Not ever a fan of liver, I avoided sampling his until we'd collectively polished off an order of Baked Goat Cheese ($10) and a trio of Pulled Pork Tacos ($13). He'd grown full and much liver remained which is when I learned that I do like chicken liver. Or rather, I like chicken liver as prepared at The Speakeasy. All of the above pretty much had me fan-girling out over this place but then this happened: We were done, requested our check, and were told that someone that evening had picked up the tab for the entire bar, something I've not experienced in my lifetime. I already liked The Speakeasy a whole lot before learning my food and drink were free of charge. Like changed to rabid fandom when this occurred. I know that I can't expect a full repeat of this experience but even if it's just chicken livers and Cabernet, that'll be enough.
