BBQ pork vermicelli bowl. Includes a broth or soup.

We're here from Texas and don't know the area, so relied on Yelp to find good Vietnamese noodles. This place had good reviews for their rice noodles and we were not disappointed. There were 3 of us, and we all got some version of the vermicelli bowls. My bbq pork was actually fire grilled and flavorful, and the portion was generous. It came with a brothy soup as well. I'd definitely come back if I lived in San Rafael.

Lately, Marin has seen an influx of Asian-inspired restaurants, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese and more. Even lowly Novato just got a new Ramen house (Yosumi) thanks to Pearl and her family. And of course La Maison de la Riene recently moved from Corte Madera to Novato as well, which is great! San Rafael has a number of choices for Pho including the new Pho by the main post office, but I have to say that my all-time favorite after 20 years in Marin continues to be Saigon Kitchen. Their breadth of offerings, from noodle soup to rice plates and more is almost laughable - it takes forever just to go through their menu. And EVERYTHING I've tried there is always delicious. I almost always order the wonton noodle soup, and I always get the small size - I can't imagine who could finish the large! The venue is so interesting. The back garden is wonderful, with the huge Koi tank and the assortment of plants growing in and around the patio. I love sitting out there in the summertime. The indoor seating area behind the register is becoming a bit of a motorcycle shop with three large tool cribs that mostly seem to be used a filing cabinets! The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, and are very welcoming and patient with my elderly dad. Kudos. We'll keep coming back weekly.

Very good pho. This place is so interesting with the many seating areas both inside and out. Will have to come back and try the other things on the menu. Just a note, you have to go to the register to pay. They don't bring the bill to the table. We weren't told and kept siting waiting for the check. lol.

Authentic vietnamese restaurant with a very inviting outdoor garden seating area. There's a little koi pond with too many koi that is nice to sit by. The inside is a low key casual spot that is darker. Service is typical and the food is very good. We enjoy the vermicelli, rice plates, and the beef stew. The large stew is enough to share between two people with an appetizer. The shrimp cake was very crispy.

The absolute best pho I have ever had in my life!!! I am a pho connoisseur and this place nails it! This is my PHO-avorite spot and I am a PHO-requent customer! The staff is always amazing and helpful. Love love love this place. Could not recommend it more!

I'm such a fan Saigon Village Restaurant and love to eat outside in their green garden oasis. The service is chill, sweet, and food comes out fast. The vegetarian fake chicken rice noodle soup is my automatics choice. It's salty, refreshing, and comes in a big bowl. The fresh rolls are wonderful with incredible peanut sauce. The vegetarian options are great and filling.

Love it love it love it!!!…read more Love the layout and decoration not to mention how friendly the staff were. Food wise, omg to die for! We got a combination of BBQ pork with papaya salad and black sticky rice and we asked if I could add one more Lao style papaya salad into it and she said 'yes!!' Also Nam Kao Tod and beef jerky were so tasty!! Would totally recommend this place!

We ordered the Pun Khao Poon platter (lettuce wraps) with pork springrolls, pad thai with chicken, and the mango salad. The portions were very generous. The mango salad was the highlight of the meal, followed by the lettuce wraps. The dressing in the mango salad had just the right combination of sweet and tangy. We loved the addition of mint for the wraps, but I personally don't care for perilla leaves. The fish sauce accompanying the wraps was delicious and was also great over the pad thai, which was a bit on the bland side without it. Service was a bit less than perfect. When one diner asked for water, only her glass was refilled when another glass was obviously in need also; minor overlook, though. The one thing that was a bit disturbing was the noise level. It was extremely loud, so it was really difficult to hear each other talk. It didn't help that the party at the next table had a woman who cackled loudly when she laughed. It was a relief to step outside after we ate. Not sure what can be done to help with this, but it did make dining there not as pleasant as it could be. Even with this, I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

My partner had eaten here before and was craving it post trail run…read more We ordered the pork ribs combination plate and the roast pork sandwich. The service was impeccable with helpful workers constantly monitoring and making sure everyone was taken care of. One of the workers was friendly and gave us the run down on recommendations and what was popular. The interior is so colorful too! This place is amazing !! The sandwich hit the spot with the perfect amount of meat and veggies along with the sauce. The pink beans were nice to try and were a nice side to the perfectly salted ribs. The ribs were made so well and had the perfect amount of salt to meat ratio and went well with the rice. The lemon zesty salad was refreshing and the garlic platains really hit the spot. We both enjoyed the meal so much and need to try other items.

This place started out strong and then crashed and burned…read more The service was amazing while we waited in line - attentive, answered questions, and gave us generous samples of their housemade limeade which was the perfect blend of tart and sweet. We got two types of plantains as our apps: sweet fried and savory fried, with the latter pounded flat and improved with some of the tableside housemade chilli water. But my crispy chicken tacos I ordered were actually taquitos - unclear from the menu and not what I was hoping for. The chicken inside was dry and bland and the avocado sauce obviously made from unripe avocados and foul. The only saving grace was the bed of greens which was actually perfectly dressed in a light lemon dressing. My poor friend ordered the vegetarian taco plate and it arrived deconstructed. Tortillas, a bowl of watery beans, a heap of pickled onions, an uncut whole pickled jalapeño, and two long blocks of white cheese - I thought it was tofu! Bland and shoulda been cheaper if he had to assemble it himself. Logistics: - indoor seating only - limited street parking nearby - You may be sat at shared tables to maximize how many can sit inside at once
