BBQ pork vermicelli bowl. Includes a broth or soup.

We're here from Texas and don't know the area, so relied on Yelp to find good Vietnamese noodles. This place had good reviews for their rice noodles and we were not disappointed. There were 3 of us, and we all got some version of the vermicelli bowls. My bbq pork was actually fire grilled and flavorful, and the portion was generous. It came with a brothy soup as well. I'd definitely come back if I lived in San Rafael.

Lately, Marin has seen an influx of Asian-inspired restaurants, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese and more. Even lowly Novato just got a new Ramen house (Yosumi) thanks to Pearl and her family. And of course La Maison de la Riene recently moved from Corte Madera to Novato as well, which is great! San Rafael has a number of choices for Pho including the new Pho by the main post office, but I have to say that my all-time favorite after 20 years in Marin continues to be Saigon Kitchen. Their breadth of offerings, from noodle soup to rice plates and more is almost laughable - it takes forever just to go through their menu. And EVERYTHING I've tried there is always delicious. I almost always order the wonton noodle soup, and I always get the small size - I can't imagine who could finish the large! The venue is so interesting. The back garden is wonderful, with the huge Koi tank and the assortment of plants growing in and around the patio. I love sitting out there in the summertime. The indoor seating area behind the register is becoming a bit of a motorcycle shop with three large tool cribs that mostly seem to be used a filing cabinets! The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, and are very welcoming and patient with my elderly dad. Kudos. We'll keep coming back weekly.

Very good pho. This place is so interesting with the many seating areas both inside and out. Will have to come back and try the other things on the menu. Just a note, you have to go to the register to pay. They don't bring the bill to the table. We weren't told and kept siting waiting for the check. lol.

Authentic vietnamese restaurant with a very inviting outdoor garden seating area. There's a little koi pond with too many koi that is nice to sit by. The inside is a low key casual spot that is darker. Service is typical and the food is very good. We enjoy the vermicelli, rice plates, and the beef stew. The large stew is enough to share between two people with an appetizer. The shrimp cake was very crispy.

The absolute best pho I have ever had in my life!!! I am a pho connoisseur and this place nails it! This is my PHO-avorite spot and I am a PHO-requent customer! The staff is always amazing and helpful. Love love love this place. Could not recommend it more!

I'm such a fan Saigon Village Restaurant and love to eat outside in their green garden oasis. The service is chill, sweet, and food comes out fast. The vegetarian fake chicken rice noodle soup is my automatics choice. It's salty, refreshing, and comes in a big bowl. The fresh rolls are wonderful with incredible peanut sauce. The vegetarian options are great and filling.

Beef and shrimp vermicelli and spring rolls

The best experience from my order today was the ease of the online ordering and that my order was ready when I scheduled it to be. I ordered the beef and shrimp vermicelli and spring rolls. The shrimp was so over cooked it was like eating rubber bullets. The beef, exactly the same. It was like eating beef jerky with zero taste. The spring rolls were dry so there wasn't enough peanut sauce that could have saved them. I was honestly hoping for the best because I live right across the street. I won't go back.

The flavors were authentic and flavorful without being overly Americanized. The pork curry was absolutely delicious and is definitely a must-order. I also got the tea leaf salad and immediately wished I had ordered the large because you can never have enough tea leaf salad. The palata was a great starter -- flaky, warm, and exactly what you'd want. The miso black cod was another standout. The broth it was simmered in was incredibly flavorful, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The garlic noodles were also done really well with the right noodles and great flavor -- honestly better than some places known specifically for garlic noodles. And of course, the coconut rice is always worth ordering. We skipped dessert since nothing really stood out, but I would love to see them add more traditional Burmese desserts like faluda in the future. Parking wasn't too difficult, especially if you circle around the back neighborhood area. The wait was reasonable, the outdoor patio seating was nice, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving Burmese food.

The restaurant uses community-style seating with shared tables, which adds to the lively and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The ordering process is simple--you place your order at the counter when you enter, find a seat, and the food is brought out shortly after. Despite how busy the restaurant can get, the food arrived quickly. On this visit, we ordered the Mariquitas, Tostones con Mojo, Camarones a la Diabla, and the Sándwich de Pollo. Every dish was excellent. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was packed with flavor. The Camarones a la Diabla had just the right amount of spice, while the sides and appetizers were equally enjoyable. What stands out most about Sol Food is the consistency. Great food, friendly service, reasonable wait times, and excellent value for the quality and portion sizes.
