    Mac salad
    David C.

SEP2025 Ordered some hawaiian for delivery. Food was quick to make it to our door. For this we had gotten the chicken katsu, mac salad, and bbq chicken with fried egg saimin. Solid for what we ordered. Mac salad was on point. the portions were nice across the board. For the bbq chicken with saimin, the broth had a nice savory taste. I'd say it would've been nice for more noodles to balance things out. Or even getting more on the side if the size of the bowl was the issue. We definitely liked the chicken katsu. Great crunch retention despite delivery and the amount of meat was great overall. Definitely worthwhile since it's just a comfort some days, so we have a good option to return to.

    Family Meal: BBQ beef
    Teri K.

After a long day, we decided to invite the kids over and order the Luau Family Meal (serves 4) . It comes with choice of 3 main items plus 8 scoops of rice and 4 scoops of mac salad. For our protein we decided on: Curry chicken katsu BBQ beef BBQ chicken The server at the counter was thoughtful and brought our food to us when it was ready. The bag sure was heavy! When we got home we served our dinner with a big salad, (hoping to feel a little less guilty for eating so many carbs). The food and service were no different than our first visit. The people here are so friendly, sweet, and helpful. It was dinner hour so there were some families dining inside plus others waiting to order behind us. Glad to see they are doing good business. We all enjoyed our meal and had lots of leftovers after feeding four adults. Our favorite was the mac salad and the curry chicken katsu.

I absolutely love this place for a huge lunch or a great dinner, they serve large portions, The BBQ chicken is so tender and tasty. I first tried the Katsu chicken over a bed of rice, that led me to ordering the BBQ chicken for me and my mom one night. The sauce is the bomb. They even have hamburgers on the menu. This place will definitely fill you up so go hungry.

Beef loco moco with eggs over easy

Luau Hawaiian BBQ in Santa Rosa was a solid stop on my loco moco crusade. It has a warm, family-owned vibe, and you can really taste the care they put into the cooking. The loco moco did not disappoint with the beef patties being juicy and flavorful, the gravy was rich and satisfying, and everything came together perfectly over a couple of scoops of rice with two over easy eggs on top. I also really enjoyed the macaroni salad, which was creamy and well seasoned. I wished they gave a little bit more rice to soak up more of the sauce, so I should have ordered extra. Prices here are very fair, and the service was quick and super friendly. The restaurant is clean with both indoor and outdoor seating, and there's even a bathroom inside which is always appreciated. The parking lot is spacious, and since the plaza has a bunch of other food spots, it's a great place to mix and match if you're grabbing food with friends. While I was eating an early dinner, there was a steady stream of people coming in every few minutes, which tells me this place has a loyal following. If you're in the area or on your own loco moco mission, Luau is definitely worth a stop. Great flavors, welcoming staff, and solid value make it a place I'd happily return to.

Combo with short ribs and fried shrimp
    Marianne A.

Luau Hawaiian BBQ is a great place if you are craving Hawaiian food in a fast casual environment. The restaurant is in a shopping center, but there was definitely plenty of parking. when we got to the restaurant, we were greeted by the staff and the owner and it was pretty easy to order. The restaurant itself is very clean. I ordered the short rib and fried shrimp combo with the mac salad. The food was great. I think I will order the ribs to be a little bit more well done because I like the charred flavor. Can't wait to come back!

Combo plate with kahlua pork and chicken katsu
    Jenn H.

I've been trying different Hawaiian food spots for the past few months to find the absolute best. I saw this place had some good reviews so k decided to try it since I was in the area. I got the combo plate with Kalua pork and chicken katsu, plus a side of three fried shrimp. I'll start with the cons; the kalua pork was dry, making it hard to eat. The three shrimp looked big but unfortunately the batter to shrimp ratio was way off. Everything else was great. The service was pleasant and quick. The chicken katsu was crispy and flavorful. The best part though was the macaroni! It's the best I've had from any other Hawaiian BBQ place. I would definitely come back and just not order the kalua pork

2 Item Combo Plate with Volcano Chicken Katsu & BBQ Beef
    Alma S.

We came for a weekday lunch. The place was clean, Hawaiian music played softly in the background, & there were table & bar seating options inside, as well as tables outside. The lady who handled our order at the counter was friendly, smiley, & helpful. We ordered two 2-Item Combo Plates--one with BBQ Chicken & BBQ Beef, the other with Volcano Chicken Katsu & BBQ Beef. Everything was delicious! The meats were flavorful, juicy, & tender. The Katsu had good texture with a sweet, spicy sauce. We were offered additional sauces too. Rice was good, mac salad had just the right amount of mayo for my preference. The generous portions easily filled us up & then some. We had a pleasant experience & really satisfying lunch here!!!

The place was empty beside us but it was nice and quiet. They have a really nice selection of beers on tap and a good variety of food choices. They have tv's playing sports and it feels like a place where you could hang out for hours. On this visit, I tried the "Dream of Jupiter" red ale. It wasn't my favorite. A little too hoppy for my taste, but still a good drink to have with food. For food, we ordered the BBQ Nachos with Tri-tip , and some wings. The wings were pretty good with a sweet chili ginger sauce. We also tried their dry-rubbed wings, which were just okay. The nachos had good flavor, but some of the chips got kind of burnt in the broiler. The tri-tip was also a little underwhelming as it was just a bunch of small pieces that didn't have a lot of flavor. Overall, I still liked the flavor of the nachos, but I would get a side of sour cream or something else to go with it. I still really like this place and hope to come back again.
