This will definitely be my go-to spot for Hawaiian food in Petaluma. HUGE portions, quality food, and good prices compared to other places. They have a variety of options on their menu. The staff is so friendly, they even let me make my own customized combo. I ordered a kalua pork and bbq beef combo. My partner got the chicken katsu plate. We stopped by for lunch yesterday and I am so glad we did! We were greeted by who I am assuming is the owner. He was very kind and helpful. We decided on a golden hawaiian bbq plate and a mini portion of the chicken katsu. Food took about 10-15 minutes to be ready! We were pleasantly surprised with the portions. Even the ones for the mini plate were huge enough for my sister and I to share it. The food was warm and delicious! The chicken katsu was crunchy and juicy. I went there for the very first time. I was there around maybe one ish there was only one other patron having lunch. It's was a nice place inside was typical all tables no booths. I ordered the chicken katsu curry, spam Musubi and they had lumpia which that was the only Hawaiian place that had lumpia there was 6 pieces. The Chicken Katsu curry was good nice portions the usual 2 scoops of rice and Mac salad the chicken was on top of vegetables and they gave you the curry sauce in one of those plastic containers which usually it's already on the chicken but no problem. The spam Musubi usually the rice is usually molded into a square then spam and the nori wrapped around it, the only problem when I bit into it it fell apart. Toki and I had a wonderful brunch this morning at Yummy Hawaiian BBQ in Petaluma today. We went for the malasadas and lumpia but ordered a lot more to eat there and to bring home for the weekend. Toki enjoyed a perfectly cooked and juicy Teriyaki salmon filet. I was excited to try the loco moco after learning they make their own hamburger patties. So yummy! I could only eat half. Thankfully I asked for extra gravy. To bring home Toki ordered the chicken curry mini plate with extra curry. I ordered the Aloha mixed plate with bbq beef, bbq chicken, and kalbi. We like that their shoyu marinade and sauce is milder, not as salty, as other bbq places. Their rice is perfectly cooked and of good quality. For any restaurant, I don't care how good the food is if the rice is low quality or not cooked properly I don't go back. So I will be back for more Yummy! I like the mac salad after dowsing it with black pepper. That's just me. The malasadas was our dessert. I like the little crunchy edges and soft middle with a light coat of sugar. The food here is great for what it is. Service is horrible. Henry was absolutely horrible. Trying to order a simple teriyaki chicken bowl was harder than it needed to be. I asked for light sauce and he insisted on putting it on the side. I told him they could still just toss it lightly but he refused that request and said it would be easier to put it on the side. I agreed since he kept pushing that past my initial request. We drove all the way down to go get it just to come back home and discover absolutely no sauce. I called in and asked how he could make it right - his solution was that if i was unhappy then I could BRING BACK THE FOOD and they'd return my money but that they had no intention of making it right for making the second trip down. I asked for like maybe a 10% discount on our next order or something if we ever decided to go there again? He said no- you can bring back the food. so for even $2 or $3 ask, that's the customer serviced we received. Absolutely ridiculous to take no accountability and to be rude on top of that! Keep up that customer service Henry, and your business owners will be out of business in no time. Update- we get there and he hands a basic flyer that says 10% off that sits on the counter. On the phone, his smart-alec thoughts took over and wanted to be unpleasant on the phone before I asked if he was the owner there since i was appalled by his tone and response to my concern. read more
