I have not been to the dentist for an embarrassingly long time and was scared that, when I did finally go, they were going to tell me to pull the whole lot and start over. Dr. Kang was so kind and, while he did berate me gently for not taking care of my teeth, he came up with a plan to get my mouth in order with the least pain possible to my teeth and my wallet. I've been in to the office for a cleaning, a root canal and two crowns so far. I have one more crown and one cavity filling to go and then back to my regularly scheduled cleanings. One of the crowns needed was on my front tooth and I was so nervous about how it would look but Dr. Kang did a beautiful job and the tooth looks better than the original. I could not be happier to have found such a great dentist right in my neighborhood. I know his speech about Ohana when you first come might sound a little rehearsed (I'm sure he says it a lot) but Dr. Kang's actions and those of his staff really make you feel cared for and like you are part of the family. read more

Update: Dr Kang called on Monday telling ask the other doctor has left, offering to reimburse us, and asking us to take down the 1-star review. It's fair to change the star raising since the other doctor has left, but it's minimal to just reimburse us considering the amount of pain and trouble we have to go through entirely due to Obama's fault. Edit: since I left the last message my spouse has been in increasing pain. We appreciate that Ohana replied to our Yelp review immediately on a Saturday afternoon, but the lack of any emergency care is disappointing. We now have to go elsewhere and pay a significant amount of money despite the failed crown is most likely caused by a mistake on the part of ohana. We've both been long-term patients at Ohana and have been until now very satisfied with Dr. Kang's work. This failed crown work was done by the new dentist practicing at the office. I remember when my husband came back from the crown work in June he was already concerned with the quality of the dental work since the temporary crown already fell out and the mold seemed ill-fit and uncomfortable. He raised the concerns at the time to the dentist only to be told these are not problems and he should get used to it. Now the crown has fallen out after merely several months confirming his suspicion, we wish we had trusted his intuition instead of taking our dentist's word. I was excited to see the four stars that Ohana dental received; one of the top reasons I chose this business besides the location. The office portrays itself as a family business. The introduction speech he gives is so contrived....I think. Everyone is friendly. My only complaint is that when asked for a breakdown of my payments . I discovered that The introduction video about the aligners about 30 minutes I was presented; I was charged $500. I would've never known this because it's included in the total price that you're quoted. Most Patients are on a payment plan but be very careful I was charged an extra payment. The payment was revised but they were very unapologetic. I wonder how long this would have continued if I didn't discover. Overall I'm pleased but now, I know that I don't have to buy into Invisalign sales pitch from this Orthodontist. There are other aligners that are just as good but cheaper. I was very anxious and nervous about getting my wisdom teeth extracted but Ohana Dental made the process a lot easier. I want to give the staff a big shoutout for being so kind and welcoming. The front desk staff have excellent customer service! They are very responsive via text, phonecall and email. During my wisdom teeth consultation, Dr. Kang patiently answered all if my questions and was very transparent about the cost breakdown of the procedure. At the day of my wisdom teeth extraction, I initially requested being sedated with nitrous oxide gas. However when it was placed over my nose, I just started panicking and wanted to have the procedure done while I was conscious. Dr. Kang and his staff were super understanding and immediately took it off and did not charge for the gas. The extraction itself was done very efficiently and Dr. Kang checked if I was ok throughout the whole extraction. The post op instructions was also very thorough! I've been going to this dental office for awhile now and have been a loyal customer. I tried cancelling 24 hours before my appointment and no one answered my call. I tried calling again first thing in the morning with no one answering. And once I called again at my earliest availability to cancel, they immediately had no sympathy and just went straight to saying they'll be charging a cancellation fee after I told them I needed to reschedule due to a family member passing away and trying to reschedule so I can accommodate a bigger priority.
