Staff were friendly and helpful, helping is get our bowling shoes and drinks. Drinks were good. Bar was limited (for us) but plenty of draft beer, but had enough variety. There are sofas and bar stool tables to sit at. Sofas are a bit worn and very deep but comfortable enough. Party room is spacious but comfy at the same time. Bowling was fun. It was a bit challenging to set up our names, but doable. There are four lanes and you have the usual option of gutters on or off. Adequate number of balls, plenty of shoes. Multiple (3) pizza choices, (2) sliders, and wings were available to us. Also a delicious Caesar salad, hummus and baba ganoush (?) and pita with veggies platter, fries. Not sure what else is available (should have grabbed a take out menu...) But offerings we had were plentiful. UH football game was on (Go Bows!) since it was a UH Watch party for us. It was a breezy day and the party room door was left open so the temperature was very comfortable. Not sure if they always leave the door open but it was good choice for today. A lot of games and lights, it's like an upscale fun factory. A different vibe from D&B more of an arcade. They do have a pretty cool sports bar section in the back or in the front, depending in which way you entered. This review is not for the games it is specifically for the bar side. The bar is pretty cool. It has a lot of monitors that are playing sports or other programs. The sitting area aint too big (pic) but I imagine very crowded on the weekends. They even have inhouse bathrooms that wasnt too clean but not nasty either. The food is all bar food such as burgers fries tacos fish and chips etc. I'm not commenting on the drinks because I dont drink. The service was kind of slow, but then again we went on a tuesday just before 5 pm. They had three staff that we could see. A bartender, a waiter, and I guess a host. The staff wasn't overly friendly but pleasant. The food was ok not good or bad just average. The prices was manageable specially it being in the mall and the portions was pretty good. I can see how this would be a cool destination to watch sports or a cool option for a weekend cruise spot.

I went with combo that came with their fried chicken and loco moco. While the burger patty could've used more seasoning, the portion size was massive and the gravy was hella good. The fried chicken though, easily the star of the show. So damn good. My partner got the oxtail soup, which was alright. To end the meal we got one of their crunch cake, and I wasn't even hungry but we crushed this. Safe to say we enjoyed it. The service here was great. I think the prices match the portions here. The parking before 4pm on a weekday is horrible. Everyone on Shafter is at work during that time. So they park there as well. Since it's hardly any parking on Shafter. The only thing is they have a lot of leagues. We got there 8:45 am and their lanes were already full. We signed up on the wait list with only one party ahead of us. We ended up waiting an hour half before getting a lane. The lady working the desk was super nice and when asked how many games, suggested two. The kids only wanted to bowl one game so I paid for that plus $5 shoe rentals. They have a 3% convenience fee for using credit cards. Once we started the game, the kids were going through frames quick since they were guttering a bit. They decided they did want to play another game and the lady accommodated the last minute change and added the extra game. The cost did go up to the junior rate of $4.50. They announce that all games must be completed by 11:15 for the early bowl. I enjoyed the old school feel to the bowling alley and it seemed like everyone knew one another there. I ordered 3 bao buns with crispy pork for $15 and a spam and egg sandwich. They were both tasty and the kids loved it! Then, our bowling balls were getting stuck in the machine and not being properly returned to us. So, we told him that they were stuck, and he replied by saying "Holy shit" and nothing else. Then, when I walked past the desk to pickup my food, he stopped me and said "If you keep getting balls stuck like that we're gonna kick you out". The balls were getting stuck because the alley's system was not working properly, and he still threatened to kick us out. Our bowls repeatedly got stuck 2 more times and we had to tell Vincent about it, and each time he rolled his eyes and had an irritated look on his face. After the second time our balls got stuck, he moved us to new lanes (Keep in mind, our 1 hour timer was still ticking). After we moved lanes, one of our buddies asked if we could get our time back because of the amount of delays that were happening (Time started before we started bowling, bowling balls getting stuck 3 times, switching lanes completely). Vincent told my buddy "That's not how it works" over and over again, and we did not get our time back. As we were leaving, we asked for his name, and on our way out be replied with "If you get one problem, don't come back again!". The absolute worst service I have ever experienced.

I'm not sure what changed but the pizza is not good and turned my stomach, the cookies are incredibly hard, and the hotdogs had bits of cartilage. Now on top of all this - they recently implemented a rule of not allowing any food or drink onto the table in the middle of the bowling seating where in any other bowling establishment is a very common practice. This is a NEW rule and one employee was extremely rude about it. It's understandable but inconvenient now. The only redeeming factor is the price to bowl. If you're looking for a cheap game and have nothing else to do it can be a good spot. Most of the employees are pretty friendly too.
