I went here for lunch with some coworkers. The food was served cafeteria-style, which I wasn't expecting. The day we went they had Mango Curry Chicken, Meatball Stroganoff, Chicken Tettrazini, Brie-Basil linguine, and a few other entrees. We all had one of the items above, and all were very good. It was like a church event, mom's home-style cooking. I liked the Brie-Basil Linguine and the Mango Curry Chicken, even if they don't really complement each other, they were still delicious! The Meatball Stroganoff tasted like they were making meatloaf, but then decided to turn it into meatballs. Not that that really affects how yummy the food is, but just something I noticed. The Chicken Tettrazini was hearty and creamy. The restaurant is in an interesting building downtown, I can't figure out what it used to be, but definitely a cool place. If a restaurant will go to those lengths to make themselves look good it would really rethink if I would want to spend my money there! I must have really struck a cord with them!!! This was my review: OHMS has good food, but for my Birthday last yr. They were down right awful! They ruined my party! We reserved a room and people who had RSVP, a lot of them canceled very last min. but we still had a good turn out. One of the ladies came and said that they wanted to seat people in the room because they were full. I said absolutely not but they could take the 2 tables we weren't using. The owner just so happened to be there, she looked like she just rolled out of bed she was in shorts no makeup hair all frizzy. She comes up to me and asks if there is a problem I told her what was going on thinking she was going to be concerned about the situation, she could care less. Her response was you guys have been here 2 hrs. I said yes we reserved the room for this evening. Then i asked, So you reserve for only a couple of hrs. She said well we thought you were having X amount of people. I told her yes but I had quite a few cancel last min. Is that a problem? (She had an attitude through out this whole conversation) She says well were going to need some tables. I told her I had told the girl that was fine. We would have walked out but our food was about to come and My husband had decorated and we had paid to bring in my cake.(They charge you to bring in a cake it was about 30$)I didn't want to put my guests out like that so I decided to try to make the best of it, Our waitress felt so bad she even said the owner had treated me awful and she kept apologizing. We finished our meal, I opened my presents and we left. Everyone who was there that night and saw how she behaved said they would never go to eat there again. I had a terrible experience at this place. I ordered a ribeye steak they brought me a sirloin and it was terrible, service was slow at best. By the time the waiter came back around to check on us , everyone else had finished eating. He asked if I would like something different and I said no because I don't want the others to have to wait, I will just eat the side of Mac and cheese. They took the steak back and I left my card on it, hoping the owner or chef would come out and ask me what was wrong with my steak They didn't even bother, charged me full price for a steak I could not eat. Normally love this place. Stopped by to grab a drink and an appetizer before the symphony at a table in the bar was told we couldn't order food because they were expecting a rush later. What restaurant tells people they can't order food because a rush is coming later? We tried everything to spend more money and they said "basically no". On my first night in Amarillo on a business trip I couldn't find any real restaurants to eat in and I began to worry because I had to be in town for 4 nights. But thankfully today I was with a colleague who was local and he took me to Ohms for lunch and showed me that Amarillo is not a culinary wasteland. Either the lunch was really good or I had just set my standards so low that I really enjoyed it. Kind of an interesting lunch place. They have 4 or 5 dishes available for lunch that they serve up cafeteria style. But the lunch dishes are really well done. I had the chicken marsala over rice with vegetables and a cup of tortilla soup. After virtually starving myself the previous day because I couldn't find any decent food, this was a very welcome meal! But if you are thinking of coming here for dinner, pay attention to the hours. They are not open for dinner every day of the week. read more

Everyone was super friendly and easy. Great start! The elk and beef tenderloin were amazing! I was super excited when I could sub the green chili cheese grits as my side. They were also wonderful. This was a lovely break from the mainly fast food, beef heavy restaurants in Amarillo. We were passing through & found this on Yelp. First of all the food was excellent: I got the salmon, Med. Rare with diced root veggies-expertly done. My husband had a Caesar salad & tile fish, again fresh & expertly prepared. Our server, Joshua, was very attentive & knowledgeable. We waited for nothing! This was a Friday night & the place filled very quickly. The only thing missing is better decor & ambience. The bar area is intimate with soft lighting, but the dining areas have an institutional feel for several reasons: the ceilings are very high & the beige color of the walls makes them appear higher & accentuates any electrical run or irregularities in the walls. The areas have pendant lamps that are white frosted glass with bright white bulbs. These glass shades should be replaced with amber glass or at least use Edison bulbs for an amber glow, like in the bar. There should be sconces lower on the walls near the tables, recessed lighting along the ceiling dividing the 1st dining room from the 2nd. In other words, bring the lighting down & closer to the diner & make it soft. Paint the walls a darker color, maybe ochre or eggplant, & re-paint the tin ceilings in a silver color that will reflect the light. Adding art to walls & lighting it would again draw the eye to a lower level & bring color into the space. One thing to remember is that dining is a spectator sport: diners like to see & be seen at high end restaurants because they are usually dressed up. The space was too dark, but not in a cozy, romantic way. Ohms could be 5 star with more tasteful lighting & decor. Me and my wife ate here on a Saturday night. We had lobster sliders for an app and a fried egg salad. Both were perfect, the lobster was fresh and the salad was great. I ordered the surf and turf and she had seafood carbonara with salmon. Mine was rare and cooked to perfection with crab and mashed potatoes on bottom and was probably the best thing I've had in Amarillo, and I've had a steak everywhere. My wife's food and the sliders made me realize I did like seafood. It was absolutely amazing. If you need something different in AMA than a plain old boring steak or burger, I would come here. read more

In town for a college reunion and my wife and I happened upon OHMS walking downtown on Saturday night and decided to give it a try. No tables in the dining room but had the intimate bar to ourselves which has a very nice relaxed atmosphere. The 2 bartenders know how to mix a drink correctly and the wine list, while a bit pricey, had wines at all quality and price levels. Service at the bar was good but not intrusive. I had a tuna tower appetizer and my wife had the beef tenderloin and both were quite good. The prices may be a bit high for Amarillo, but were very reasonable for what we pay in equal quality restaurants in our home city of Dallas and in other cities where we dine. A very polished and pleasing experience for the money and very much worth visiting when in Amarillo. read more

One of the best meals I have had in Amarillo. Great food and great wine. Elk tenderloin or the Ribeye are must haves.

The was so fresh and so good and the bread bow delicious. Can't wait to go back for the crab bisque. The large bread bow was a meal for me and my daughter, so order with care, so you are able to walk out of there. read more
