Stopped in on way to Aspen from Dallas. Definitely the top dining experience in Amarillo. Great food, pork chop was delicious and the bartenders were very attentive and friendly ( best people on the planet are from West Texas ). My favorite restaurant in Amarillo. Their dinner menu is the best (if you've been to OHMS for lunch, the dinner experience is very different). My favorite is the seared elk and the green chile macaroni. And save room for dessert. They are made in the restaurant and they change frequently. If something looks really good, order it at the beginning of the meal because they may run out. The martini bar at the entrance is also fun with friendly bartenders. The fried egg salad was so awesome I could have eaten a few of these as my dinner, however I tried the filet...OMG, the most tender filet I think I have ever had. OHMS employs the best bartenders in town. If you want a good martini and are in town for whatever reason, this place won't disappoint. Eat dinner up front then move to the back bar area for the evening. I am not sure where to start except the food here is beyond incredible. I was traveling in Amarillo for work and Ohms was located close to my hotel so I decided to give it a try- and was blown away by dinner. I had the fried chicken with mash potatoes and green beans, followed by the crack pie. The food was so amazing I returned the next day for lunch and was also blown away. Think upscale home cooking with incredibly fresh menu items, with a bit of a twist. You will not be disappointed. They also have a nice bar area that serves their full menu. I visited this cafe on a Thursday night while on a business trip. The wine list is decent, the beer list reflects the general Texas dearth of decent craft and import beers. I started with the house salad and dressing, it was tasty. My main was lamp chops, wild mushroom risotto, and string beans. Very very good. I finished with a brûlée which was also very good. sure it's a little expensive, but this is one of those places where it's justified. i had a fish dish with properly cooked fish that included more than 5 ingredients but the chef didn't attempt to (as everyone else seems to do) attempt to kill the fish flavor, he actually complemented it very well, with flavors that i wasn't used to. Good beer selection, and i had a mixed drink that at a cheaper place would have come from a pre-mix bottle + 1 alchohol, i saw the bartender pick up and add at least 6 things, and go figure it was better than i'm used to. the service was exceptionally attentive but not annoying. All and all a great place, again, not cheap, but if you're not concerned about that, in the area i would highly recomend them. read more

For example: in their bar you get to sit on Walmart's finest steel mesh outdoor stools and pay $8 a shot for run of the mill whiskeys; make it a call or a martini and you are into the teens. Too much for too little. I won't avoid the place but it will not be a go to, either. (It has the vibe of being a yuppie bar from the 80's. 4.5 stars here and the only reason it isn't five is because I had to top off my wine every time but once. My husband and I are traveling cross country from SC to WA and picked this place because of the reviews. We got the charcuterie platter and the elk and duck for dinner. Everything was amazing, but the duck was out of this world. The port dedication was delicious and the duck was cooked to perfection. The service was also above expectations. This is my favorite upscale restaurant in Amarillo. I've eaten the elk on one trip and sea bass on another and have not been disappointed. The prawns last Friday were superb. The ambiance is definitely outside the Amarillo Box...contemporary, yet comfortable. I would ask they turn the lights up just a tiny bit...I had to use my cellphone to be able to read the menu. We also ordered a glass of Chianti and the waiter said the owner didn't allow Italian wine on the menu...What? So, a delightful merlot was our choice. Upon perusing the wine list, we found more than one bottle of Italian wines on the list...just not Chianti. Service was good as well. read more

I always thought BL Bistro was the nicest place to go out on a dinner date, but I was wrong. This place serves a lot of intricate food, and the price helps show that. The place isn't very large, and when I went on a Wednesday night, I still had to wait about 5 minutes to get a seat (so make a reservation if you can!). The menu is pretty small, but the food all sounds delicious. Every entree on the menu is at least $20 however, so be prepared to spend. I got the prosciutto wrapped pork tenderloin and my boyfriend got the lobster pasta. The pork tenderloin to me was okay. It's not something I would get again. It was good, but I felt like the prosciutto and the tenderloin was a bit overcooked in that they weren't very tender or flavorful. The macaroni and cheese that came with it was delicious, but it got soggy very, very quickly. The lobster pasta was very good. They made sure to put in a lot of lobster, which I like. However, for the price of $26, I felt like there could've been more food. Nevertheless, it is a good dinner date option! Just too expensive for the food in my opinion. read more

OHMS is the best restaurant in Amarillo. We have lived in town for about 6 months and have been disappointed by some of the other 'fine dining' options in town. OHMS has a great bar staff, atmosphere, and a menu that is exactly the right size. Our favorite menu items at OHMS are the seared Ahi Tuna and the Ribeye, but we haven't ever ordered anything that disappointed us. You will love it! read more

Arrived from Corrales NM with no reservations on a Friday night - very busy and full Friday evening before Christmas but they found a table for us; excellent wine, lettuce wraps, Caesar salad - husband enjoyed Alabama smoked chicken breast with a heap of delicious REAL mashers - excellent staff, service and time together. I must say we were told Crush was better than Dallas wine bistros - stopped in sat at bar - very cluttered cold NO ambiance - dinner menu was dirty with food smeared on it; yes it is also a beer place and to be honest it smells like one and looks like one - hard for us to do but we got up and left and are extremely HAPPY we did - we really enjoyed OHMS!!!! read more
