The waiting room is inside your car lol its a bit pricey for a regular oil change ($83.89) but I needed to get it done on a rainy day I couldn't be bothered to drive around looking for somewhere to save $10-$15. OK, gotta explain a little bit. I'm griping cuz I'm a 57 year old lady who admittedly doesn't know her way around auto mechanics. My husband usually handles these things. Maybe that's sexist but it is what it is. However, we're about to take a road trip and all we really needed was an oil change. I drive a 2011 Mazda 3 with only 25K on it. Well, I got the oil change, but was unfortunately talked into a 147.00 transmission fluid change. When I got home my husband went ballistic that they would recommend such an unnecessary service. I admit, I am undereducated in auto maintenance, and that's my fault. But I feel Oil Changers deliberately took advantage of me and that's why they get only one star. C'mon now. For shame. read more

I've never in my life given any business 1 star. But this place is HORRIBLE! Since I live in Alameda, I needed to quickly get my oil changed and I went here despite the negative reviews on Yelp, because I thought, "there's absolutely no way this place can be that terrible." Uh-yeah, it's that bad. First of all, the customer service is a joke. I pulled up to about 6 guys just chilling and speaking ridiculously loud about their sexual conquests with girls. Like, homeboy, have some manners. Then, one of the fellas spoke extra loud and slowly to me as if I didn't understand English-- "DRIVE UP HERE. ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOWS. DO YOU WANT AN OIL CHANNNGE? Are you out of your freakin' mind? Next, they gave me some bullshit mumbo jumbo talk about how I NEEDED to get all this work done on my car, and was sort of taken aback when I said, "no, thank you." Lastly, and this is the part that really chaps my hide. I had to ask them to wash my car windows, as if I wanted them to give me their blood, and they begrudgingly did so. Isn't that part of the package deal? Oh, the best part, they asked me to write a good review for them on Yelp, since I used the $5 coupon. Ahahahahaha! They're hella funny. I waited an hour to get my oil change. This place has two bays, and both bays were occupied already. I pulled in at the same time as another car-- that car took their place at bay 2 and I went to bay 1. Moments passed and bay 2 opened up, leaving me alone. Figuring the car in from of me would get done sooner, I stayed. Sooner or later, I see about 3 cars at bay 2 getting serviced as I sat there like an asshole who just had time to kill. No one addressed me, no one checked up on me, and lastly no one apologized for the long wait. I get it-- people come and go, but it's pretty unfair to be waiting so long when you're the first one to come. If they don't want to pay to staff a more efficient, fairer line queue, at least do the single file queue or a number system or something. My full synthetic oil change came out to $75 for a Mini Cooper, which was $10 MORE than the guys at speedie off hegenberger quoted me. I usually go there, but I thought this would save time. I came here last month on a Saturday morning. There were two cars inside getting worked on and I was next in line on the side where a car had just left. I was not greeted or told which side to pull up on when I arrived. After 10 minutes of waiting another car pulled up beside me. 30 more minutes passed by and I was wondering why it was taking so long or why no one has updated me on the wait. Then finally one car has been completed, but not in my lane! So the car that did not wait as long as me was serviced first. :/ I was pretty irritated and could not leave because there were about 3 cars behind me. Finally after a whole hour of waiting, it was my turn. The employees were friendly and played good music, but they were moving pretty slow. The speed was slow, but the whole service did not take longer than 15 minutes! And I waited an hour? The job was done so I'm not too frustrated now, but they forgot to put the sticker on my windshield of when to come back for another oil change.. so I guess I'm not coming back. read more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Was rushing with errands and googled the closest oil changing place to Park Ave, and got to this place. Yes, they changed my oil. BUT the reason I'm giving this place such a low star is because the guy who works here was telling me my radiator was leaking, referred me to "his buddy's shop". I humored him asking how much he thinks it'll cost me if I went to the shop and quoted be "between $400 to $600". That is a con artist price. My uncle is a mechanic and took a look at my car (he's the one who sold it to me in the first place and completely fixed the engine to like-new) and said there was no leak, and if there was, a fix would literally cost no more than $50-$150. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. Shady ass people here, I swear to Jesus. read more

I went there 3 months ago the guy that was helping totally didn't want to be there. After changng the oil and filling the tires. He disappeared he didn't say buy or that someone else was going to finish the tranasaction. Someone eventully came and checked me out. When I got home I found that he lost one of the valve covers on the tires. Annoying Two weeks ago I went back again they are local and I needed to get it done before I went on a bussiness trip. When I was in line this guy came up and tried to sell me a service I had done by my mechanic 6 months ago. I told him that I didn'r need it he kept trying to sell me it. I pulled in to the left stall. The technician knocked on the passenger window for me to roll it down. When I did he went to the computer and barked out "Mileage" He then tossed the new sticker on the passanger seat. No small talk, no welcome. Nothing So they changed the oil and the filter. The technician goes over to the break area and proceeds to look at his phone. Eventully another person came asked for my credit card when he gave me the receipt It said that I declined the tire servce, window wash and to have the other fluids topped off. I said to the guy I never declinded these services. I said there never was a conversation. The guy who was doing the transactioned looked up at the tech in the break area and he was laughing at us. He quickly did the tires. Didn't bother to do the rest. I will never go there again. I will avoid all Oil Changers. read more

I wanted to give these guys no stars, but they made me put at least one. Ok, these guys are not only pricey, but from my one and only experience they are completely incompetent. When I drove in they promptly checked all fluids, air cleaner, etc. They reccomended I get a new air cleaner, which was fine and installed it, unfortunately they installed it wrong and it tore and warped the air cleaner. So, for about a month it was like my car was running without an air cleaner. Also they changed my oil, but they neglected to tell me they put a new drain plug in, and it was the wrong one, so again for the past month I have been leaking oil everywhere and my car was 2.5 quarts low after checking. (My car only holds 5 quarts). I would never go here again, don't even try it if you expect quality service. PS. They also seem to take advantage of their female clientele, (they believe we have no idea what they are talking about). read more

I have been going to the Livermore Oil changers since they opened it. And until recently Highly recommended them. I use the pre paid oil changer card where you buy three and get the fourth for free. This visit I was charged a surcharge for oil and was told it was due to the higher price of oil. Now I don't know about you, but I have noticed the price of oil going up over the last 20 years and seen a corresponding increase in the price of oil changes. To tack on an additional surcharge after you had prepaid for said oil change is fraud. They are also now charging for top offs if it has been longer then 3 mos or 3000 miles since your last service. So no more unlimited top offs. I was charged for a antifreeze top off at my last oil change. Update: After contacting Oil changers by e-mail, I did get a refund for the surcharge and the top off, but they never got the point about pre-purchasing an oil change, but then being charged an additional fee at the time of use. Inferred in their response is that they can charge any other fees they like so you can get what you have already paid for. It's like going to a fast food order window and ordering food and being told the price. Then you get to the pick up window and they tell you it will be an additional $3.00 before they will give you your food. Huh? read more

Ah, forget this place. They try to sell you on a bunch of crap you don't really need. They want to change the air filter when you can get a cheaper one by yourself. They want to pump some weird engine cleaner through your block. They want to use some fancy oil that costs twice as much. I prefer places that just change the damn oil without trying to jack up the bill. *** update: Originally I have this place one star. I added a couple of stars b/c a rep did contact me to try to make things right. So, maybe the employees were just a little overzealous on that particular day. It was o-k. I just hate the fact that I feel like I get ganked everytime I get something done to my car, and since I don't know much about cars, I feel like they know better than I do so I shell out all my money. For example the oil light came on...so I rides up to oil changers. There was a little wait. But luckily for me the guy in front of me could no longer wait. So I kindly backed up so he could get out.Cool....my turn! So sure enough they check everything and the guy tells me that my oil is really low and they recommend a flush of some sort (se I can't even remember exactly what it was). Mind you I had just planned on getting an oil change. I expected to pay at least $40 ( I had a 10% coupon discount from my job), the flush was $18, AND he told me my air filter was filthy and that was $15!! What did I want to do??? Where's the man in my life when I need him?? But we won't go there... So I thought about it for a moment and considered the 'automobile' and the cost had I gone to the dealer. So I chalked it up to the game and said go for it and shelled out $75 bucks. Oh I guess it was suppose to make me feel better, when they said "feel free to come back within the 3,000 miles and we'll top off all fluids for free" Well thanks! Holy Cow - this place believes in the hard up-sell! My Betty Blue was begging for some TLC, and O.C. was available to do the work right then without an appointment, but... while the staff was very thorough and polite, I could have definitely done without the heavy sales pressure throughout the experience. I think that if you have already given a customer a total for the sale and the customer gives you a debit card to pay that total, we are done and you shouldn't be still trying to sell me on one more service or addition! I'll admit they got me on the engine cleaner, but I had to draw the line at the other extras. They did give me some good recommendations for the future maintenance of my car, and a little sticker so I won't forget the next oil change. I've never sat in the car while getting the oil changed; that was unique and convenient for me and the dog (the manager even took a few moments to come over and pet the pup, and he was very nice) and it was over and done with pretty quickly. I guess if you are in the car during the service, there are more opportunities for immediate up-selling than if you have to wait for someone to come back and approve them or trying to sell at the register. Overall, not a bad experience, more like 2.5 stars and I am still on the fence about whether or not I would go back again for future service. read more

I suppose I have gotten used to mediocre customer service, so I just had to write a review to say that these guys are great. I brought my 2019 Honda Odyssey in for an oil change, and was chatting with the manager, Shawn, about how I used to change my oil in an older car. He explained how it is fairly easy to do in my brand new car and even showed me how to reset the computer system should I do it myself. All the guys there were super friendly and nice. I had to sit in the back of the car to soothe a fussy baby and the guys took over anything I had to do from the front seat. This morning the warning light in my car reminded me that I needed an oil change very soon. With the current 'stay at home order' in place, I hoped I could find a business open for service. Oil Changers was open, and I drove right in for service. I stayed in my car the entire time and they not only changed the oil, but checked all the fluid levels, the air filters-(both inside and in the engine), and all the lights. And since I only know enough about cars to recognize the 'change oil' light; I was relieved when they suggested that several items did not need to be replaced for another year. A bit on the pricey side for an oil change, but they're relatively quick and you get a lot for it: oil change, fluids check (trans, break, washer, etc), window washing, tire pressure check, battery contacts cleaning and spark plug check. I gave this place multiple chances but I have to leave a negative review now. I pulled up and patiently waited. One of the employees asked me to reverse so someone who got there after me could pull in front of me to get serviced first. No explanation at all. I figured there was some reason for this but no explanation at all. I had to just leave and wasted 45 minutes. On multiple occasions in the past my oil wasn't filled to the correct level and I had to top it off after the fact on my own. I don't have any oil leaks in my vehicle. It was just not filled correctly. They also adjusted the air in my tires twice and lowered the pressure in the back tires about 20 psi lower than they should've been. Again, I was patient and dealt with all these issues myself but all these things should not be happening. You're better off going to a different oil changing place. read more
