Was craving sushi so grabbed some last minute at Sushiko and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh it was! I really enjoyed the salmon sashimi --if you're a salmon lover like me, definitely try it! The eel and yellowtail sashimis were also good but the salmon definitely stole the show. The pepper encrusted tuna was also an interesting pic if you're into spice. For rolls they have so many to choose from! You can get rolls with fresh fish or cooked items like the Cherry blossom roll (covered with strings of imitation crab), or crunchy deep fried rolls like the Buckeye or Ninja rolls. The specialty rolls were packed with ingredients and large in size so they were pretty filling. The server was so sweet and very attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed. As for seating, they have lots of indoor tables with seats at the sushi bar as well if you wanted to see them making the rolls. I definitely will be back to try more of their sashimi and rolls!

I live in another state, and whenever I come to Columbus, I visit this place since it's close to my hotel and helps me feel balanced with a good meal. The service is kind and leaves a good impression. However, I gave it three stars because, while the food is good, it doesn't quite fit into the category of authentic Japanese sushi or cuisine. For example, some dishes didn't match what I expected based on the menu names, making it feel more like fusion Japanese rather than traditional Japanese food. That being said, I really appreciate having a place in this area where I can enjoy sushi and Japanese cuisine. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Columbus.

No complaints here! Everything was perfect. The space is intimate and offers more seating than one might expect from the outside. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. They do a great job making sure you have everything you need. I ordered the sake flight and it's so delightful. I loved each one but I think the Honjozo was my favorite. I ordered the sushi deluxe - it was the perfect amount of food for one person. I was able to trade out the California roll for a spicy tuna roll and it was really good. The prices are fair and the portions are on point. I highly recommend this lovely little sushi spot!

Sushiko doesn't look like much on the outside but their food is very high quality. Service was prompt and our server went above and beyond to make sure we got what we wanted and understood the menu. I had the miso soup which was served hot. I definitely recommend due to the price point and how much you get for the price! In addition, the tuna and avocado hand roll was fantastic - priced below $6 and was very filling. The table shared a big bowl of edamame and hot sake! The server was able to recommend which sake would be best for us to try. Family friendly, clean restaurants and high quality sushi! I will definitely be back!

Phenomenal sushi! Fish was very fresh, salmon and maguro melt in your mouth. I had chirashi, my husband had a dragon roll, a spicy tuna roll, and a couple of pieces of sashimi. Sashimi was sliced very thick, and looked incredible. He also said the rolls were exceptional, the tempura shrimp inside the dragon roll was some of the biggest I've seen and you could tell they were freshly made. My chirashi was excellent as well, all fish tasted fresh and were flavorful. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall a great meal on a cold evening! Will definitely be back.

The smallest "special roll" I have ever had in my life. Never again.

This is the smallest "special roll" I have ever had. Baby pieces of fish; avocado on 2 pieces of the roll. Who does that? The pic is the other 4 pieces of the roll. A $16 specialty roll is 3 times the size of this in the New Orleans.

Great sushi spot! A friend and I were in the mood for sushi and after heading to another restaurant only to find it closed, we pulled up Yelp and found Sushi Ko. We arrived around 7PM on a random Tuesday and the dining room was full and to-go orders were going out left and right. We immediately knew we made the right decision. After an empty table was cleared, we were seated and water was brought to the table. We got to sit directly in front of the sushi bar, which is always fun to watch. The fellas back there were working nonstop, busting out sushi rolls of all kinds. We ordered miso soup, a salad and several rolls. The first one was the Sweet Lover roll which was wrapped in foil and then set on FIRE! It was really cool to watch and tasted pretty good too. We also ordered a White Dragon and the others I can't remember. They were all dynamite though. The service was very friendly and the food came out rather quickly, even with how busy they were. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and I definitely recommend stopping in to fill your sushi craving.

I've seen this place so many times going to Lotus Grill, and never actually tried it until today. Glad I finally did. I ordered two rolls - Christmas and Super Crunchy. Both were delicious and huge. The miso soup was delicious as well. This place is casual with excellent service. I will definitely be back because Sushiko is muy rico.

    Sushi lunch special

This is our favorite sushi restaurant and today's lunch reaffirmed that. We both had sushi lunch specials, which are a good value and tasted very fresh. Sarah, our server, was exceptional--best server I've had anywhere.

    Premium Crab Rangoon
    Kelly L.

What a terrific find this was! The Miso Soup was HOT in the best way imaginable. The Crab Rangoon was some of the best we've ever had, perfectly crunchy yet soft enough to not fall apart when you bite into it. Our favorite rolls were the traditional New York, Ruby Roll (specialty) and the Cherry Blossom (specialty). Service was great. The space is dated and could use a facelift but by no means did it take away from the experience.

Plenty of rolls to pick from -- something for everyone. Great service and friendly staff!

A decent sushi restaurant for Columbus, but nothing to rave about. Their sashimi and sushi were average. Can't go wrong with the crab salad. The spicy scallop roll tasted okay, but difficult to eat. I had a hard time finding anything special about the menu at this restaurant and the sushi chef got my order wrong unfortunately.

Midway through my meal, they came around to light a candle at the table, which added such an intimate touch, and gave cozy date night energy in the best way. In fact, I believe I was sitting next to a couple having their first date. 2. Plating (4.5/5) The presentation did not disappoint. Everything came out looking polished and thoughtfully arranged. The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.

The first Oishii is far off my usual routes, so I haven't gotten there though I heard it's good…read more This one opened up near campus last week, much closer to me. And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. A cool place to hang out, not far from campus, and drink, and eat good food till you're stuffed.

Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.
