Food Poisoning Alert!!! On 5/29, we ordered the House Special Roll, Baked Salmon Roll, and Baked Scallop Roll from this restaurant. I want to advise others to use caution before dining here. This restaurant used to have great flavor and fresh ingredients, but unfortunately that no longer seems to be the case. All three adults in my family became seriously ill after eating there. We experienced severe diarrhea, fever, nausea, and vomiting that lasted for three days. The symptoms were so severe that we were bedridden and unable to carry out our normal daily activities. We contacted the restaurant to inform them of the situation. Rather than showing concern or offering any form of assistance, they immediately denied that their food could have been the cause and refused to take any responsibility. The lack of professionalism and customer care was extremely disappointing. Based on our experience, we will never return. Please be cautious, especially if you are considering ordering raw seafood or sushi items from this restaurant. read more

The menu has really adorable illustrations of pictures of the food and it helped me make a decision on what to order. Cherry Blossom Roll (5/5): Simple with salmon but the bonito flakes on top give a lot of flavor! I enjoyed this roll a lot without feeling too heavy after. Mother & Son Roll (5/5): This roll comes with seaweed salad on top and they loaded it for sure. Definitely reminds me of the ocean. Salmon Don (4/5): The presentation of the salmon don was perfect. They did give a ton of rice which we did not finish. I did enjoy that the rice was sushi rice. Bluefin Hand Roll (5/5): Get this! So so good with the tempura crunch and the fattiness of the bluefin. This is my favorite sushi spot in Chino Hills! The employees are so nice and the ambiance of this place is homey and quaint. My partner and I love the sandos that are only available during breakfast and brunch hours. The lunch specials are also really great. My favorite thing here would have to be the uni. Me and a few coworkers came for lunch, we were greeted and seated right away. By the way they have great prices for lunch specials. $13 for a bento box which was quite a bit of food (you can't beat that price) and it came with miso as the starter. The food was very filling and it felt like as soon as we ordered something it came out right away. I'll be a new regular here for sure. Wasn't sure what to order, they have a pretty large menu but we decided on the sushi boat since it says serves 2-3 people and we had 3 people. The sushi boat was $83.99 plus tax and tip came out to around $110. First of all it took almost an hour (like 55 minutes) to make when there was only 2 other tables in the restaurant. Another table ordered a la carte some time after us and got their food long before us which I understand the boat may take long but no one informed us it would be an hour. Second, the second line says sushi and sashimi (8pcs + 18 pcs total) as a separate line from sweet shrimp, scallop, and bluefin tuna (which was on the first row) but it actually means that's included in the 8+18 pc which doesn't really make sense to me. And on the last row it says miso, salad, and mix tempera but it means miso soup OR salad and tempera and for the soup OR salad you only get 2 even though it says for 2-3 people and we had 3 people. So we had 3 people share two soup... Overall I think their menu is VERY MISLEADING and the boat is not worth it. I've had other boats at other restaurants and actually serves more for around the same price. If that was the case we would have ordered a la carte or the sashimi special option 3 which alone has 17 pcs of sashimi for 35.99 which is less than half the price of the boat. The only thing that my husband commented on was the rice for his chirashi bowl was too dry. Thus he didn't enjoy it as much. The restaurant is fairly small and we were a party of 2 around 6PM on a Friday night and we sat immediately. Of all the things we ordered I personally really liked the escolar sushi and the flame grilled scallop sushi. The toro sashimi that we ordered was pretty tasty, but they left the harder fatty flesh on the end of the sashimi and it was a little tough to eat. We also ordered the truffle salmon roll and I would give that a 7/10. Additionally, we ordered their agedashi tofu and their vegetable tempura which was fried perfectly.
